clearly ur a troll kthx
how is he a troll? if plenty of us can stealth fine in this game and you cannot then you clearly aren't a stealth professional.
Oh my fucking God.
I meet my first Librarian.
This game was pretty disappointing. I was expecting an enriching atmosphere, some form of non-linear gameplay, amazing graphics, and a neat new economic system which made me scavenge ammunition to stay alive. Though several of these aspects were fulfilled (the graphics are amazing, you can't doubt that, and the new economy system is sort of neat as well) many were left untouched. I had come into the game expecting an amazing environment called the post-apocalyptic Moscow Metro and that's sort of what I received. Though the atmosphere looked amazing, there wasn't much past this beautiful facade. I was never really able to dig deep into the environment and the world I was playing in (ex. [sp]When I first saw the brain-blob things I had absolutely no clue what they were and the game had never even given me the slightest of clues as to what they were also. It seemed that everyone in the game already knew what they were except for me[/sp]). I was severely disappointed when I was put into this game and got chapter after chapter of completely linear missions. Though there were a few ways to complete a few missions, namely the stealth missions, there was still much left to be desired. I was also expecting a storyline that would at least cater to my need to know the purpose of all my actions and have some unexpected twists here and there. What I received was a bland, linear, and unsatisfactory story line which left much to be desired. I had always expected the story-driven surprises and plot advancements before they had happened. If you come into the game having the mindset that you will usually end up by yourself and [sp]your teammates would usually die[/sp], then you can expect to see no surprises. On to graphics, they were superb. Though there was the odd glitch with the floating bullet casings there were no big issues with the game itself. The graphics were stunning and the load times were godlike in speed. Finally, on to the military grade bullet economy. As the game began I found it odd that people would use ammunition as a form of currency rather than actually using it as ammunition to kill the mutants that are attacking them. The rounds do more damage and are better in every way so why not pump some into the nearest mutant? Later on it turned out to be a bit of a gimmick as later into the game I was either spending them to buy ammunition or used them as ammunition when I had none. The prices for weaponry was so over priced and the fact that [sp]you are given most of the weapons later in the game[/sp] almost defeats the point of buying them. By the end of the game I had been using it as my only remaining source of ammunition against the [sp]vile brain-blobs of D6[/sp]. This game wasn't very good and it certainly wasn't excellent, but I suppose you can call it mediocre. If anything it is more of a tech demo than a game in my opinion.
you have a terrible opinion
This.
The parts on the surface were actually really creepy. Also [sp]The level with Khan. When you open the door to see the dead body fall out scared the shit out of me.[/sp]
Completed it. I quite expected something more, but it was okay. The ending turned too much into a hero-fest for me. I like stories that are at least a bit down on the earth type.
Really, this game is on par with the Thief Series, almost.
To me, stealth was just avoiding as much people as possible and only killing ones that blocked my path. And waiting for 5 minute long dialogue to finish and having to wait through it again if you die.

basically, yeah. The game was sub-par. Let down of expectations.
I didn't have any expectations since I didn't really follow the game, so I was positively surprised.
Yay, I got my refund from steam. Now I guess I will install my copy from GAME tomorrow when it unlocks!
In the mean time I've been playing a little more of it, really enjoying it. Got me some nice gear. Is it me though or I don't know..game doesn't feel all that scary?
I have no idea why though, going underground in Stalker and going into dark places on Fear always had me on edge and spooked me but so far...I don't know, I just don't feel anything. Was expecting to be quite scary but..just isn't. :S
Possibly because everything is dark and underground so...there's no real safe area apart from stations. Meh, I don't care - loving the game! :D
How did you get a refund from steam?
Well I need some advice, I'm now at the reactor down there and everything is crawling with this blob shit. I can't manage to kill them all don't have much ammo left.
What should I do?
Shoot the things they're coming out of.
The story could easily have been much more entertaining and interesting. I hoped for a more "open world" game back with the first trailers.
But they sure made a great game, but they should've let artyum speak, developers shouldn't go in the footsteps of valve by making their player not speak, even though HL2 is very popular with that.
I liked the effects, though the game could've been more optimized for lower end computers like mine.
Well the point is, I thought the trailers were so awesome that the game disappointed me. Maybe I was looking for a stalker 2 in this game.
Shoot the things they're coming out of.
It needs a shitton of ammo and I don't have any even my prewar ammo is already been shot.
So there's apparently at least two endings, although everyone I've talked to got the [sp]lolnuked[/sp] ending. The "good" one is [sp]shooting the transmitter thingy somehow fuck if I know[/sp]

Artyum speaks...he says 'fffffffffuck' at one point just as he's about to get crushed by a train cart thingy :D
Does anyone know a way to open the vfs0, 1, 2 etc files in the game folder? I would like to get the music tracks out of the game.
So is there a mod out that removes the ugly photoshop noise/wave effect on the side of your goggle vision?
they should have added a ammo press/gunpowder so you can pick up the spent casings you find and make new rounds
I haven't had a problem with the gas filters or anything yet but god damn the [sp]war[/sp] level was hard
[editline]f[/editline]
Mostly because I played through it using the Nerf Maverick
the fact that people have completed it already and on workdays tells me that this game is short but sweet... is that true?
So they stole sound effects from half life 2 ?
Wood and metal sound effects.

10hour long.
People say this kind of thing every time any game does this.
The sounds are not from Half-Life 2.
They're from a sound-bank, usable by any company that makes games (probably for a fee).

I don't think there are two endings, I shot the transmitter and tried everything to change the ending. Well the game was awesome although ending wasn't that spectacular though these aliens are mad and all but a lot of things are still unexplained.
So I got to "Child" and my mouse sensitivity is all fucked up for some reason now..I barely move the mouse and he spins in a fucking circle..I turned sensitivity down but it did nothing..tried cleaning the laser on the mouse..did nothing..any ideas?
It's normal because the child is sitting on your shoulders, I didn't notice that at first. Also you're unable to sprint. Well it's a bit of a bad design because I didn't notice that the child was on my own fucking shoulder.
you mean the escort mission? mine did that, i think the little turd is supposed to be on your back, dont know why it should make your controls so laggy but its supposed to be like that
[editline]11:28PM[/editline]
should let you leave him to be eaten

wow..I can barely fucking aim..how the fuck does this work..
