Why the christ are there no save games? I started new to play through the first chapter again and now I can't resume from my last checkpoint. They were all removed.

Yeah, all you can do is load previous checkpoints. I thought after starting a new game I'd be able to load from one of those checkpoints but it erased them all.
You can load chapters or continue from a checkpoint. Some chapters also have a sort of sub chapter that you can load.
Also, just beat it on hard mode. I don't know why you people had trouble with Librarians. Most I knifed in the face and sometimes I used the military grade ammo, since at that point I believe you never need it to trade anymore.

It's at numerous stations including [sp]polis[/sp] some guy sitting around usually sells it and says "hurr durr this suit is one of a kind friend" it reduces damage you take I guess, I bought it.
Never knew. I still managed to beat the game with out buying much.

Hold down G. Also Kalash for anything after Polis is kinda pointless to buy, since well you don't need a scope or silencer much.

Screw the uncle and screw the kid. If the player wants to leave them behind he should be able to. Hell, it lets you refuse the reward the woman gives you, why not just refuse to bring him along all together?
I wanted to throw that little fuck down the holes in the ground the entire time I was carrying him.. those gigantic kitty cats got me pissed off.
IMHO Metro 2033 would've been better as an open world style game with karma choices.
