Find something to knock out the way or explode it or use something to knock it open..
Damn this game is awesome. It really freaks me out, but hey I am a sissy.
On my way to some [sp]Nazis I think[/sp]
Librarians = pain in the ass.
You look the fuckers down, sometimes they go to walk away then they spin around and attack you anyway...bastards!
Either that or they dissapear only to come into the room somewhere behind you and fuck you over >:(
let bourbon die in dead city and quit game this is gay
i don't understand this game...I feel like my bullets aren't affecting them at all..I'm playing on easy and using an AutoShotgun, in dead city i believe, where you meet back up with bourbon and get cornered while tons of the creatures swarm you. I wait until they get close, and fire off a few shotgun blasts in their face...it does nothing, they keep coming, eventually i have to reload...After firing all of my shells and not killing any...And then i get fucked over by 5 of them at a time. Ended up rage quitting, i just can't seem to do shit to anyone...Never really was any good at stalker games...Guess i got used to Bad Company 2 where bullets actually do shit to you. Any advice? Suggestions? the game is really starting to piss me off, i can't get the hang of it
[editline]03:46PM[/editline]
Now im in where you crawl through the vents at the beginning, and Bourbon leaves you to go talk to the boss or whatever, gets the shit beat out of him. I CAN'T KILL A SINGLE GUARD...No matter what i do with my knife or silenced Revolver, i get swarmed by all of them at once and then can't kill any of them because of the problem above ^. Need some help.

You've gotta be doing something wrong, because I find a couple shotgun shells to the face usually kills most mutants.
When Bourbon gets captured, try using some stealth, and go for headshots. Rambo'ing in this game will usually get you killed.

That's what i figure, I'm just not sure what. I can try playing with my controller instead of Mouse and Keyboard but i doubt that would have an impact on that stuff...Maybe if i change the difficulty to Normal?
Edit: I've been using his AK47 to try and pick off the guards, but after shooting 5 rounds into their head/back area, they just stand back up and toss a grenade at me...I don't exactly have unlimited ammo at hand to spray down the hallway at them
I just snuck past all the guards when Bourbon [sp]gets captured[/sp]
Also it's hard sneaking past them nazis.

Hm...I could try that, rather than engaging any of them, Go splinter cell on their asses
Three words: FUCKING. HATE. LIBRARIANS!
passed library by killing librarians then noticing killing librarians was pointless and running like hell the other half of the level
reactor with acid balls
Only weapon with ammo the revolver
I found the [sp]Librarians[/sp] easy. [sp]In the underground part, the trick is to get as high as possible and sprint most of the time. In the main library, just RUN.[/sp]
BIG HINT: They're wearing body armor dumbasses, shotguns and junk ammo doesn't work well on them. Aim for weak spots or use military ammo and you can drop them in 1-2 shots.
...Or you could just shoot them in the head.
Currently in the Black Station or whatever the hell it's called, the one with all the Nazi's. I don't see why everyone wants this game to be open world, I find it fantastic, and not to mention refreshing, to be playing a linear shooter once again. Seems like everyone is going for the open world thing nowadays.
I think i just found out the biggest way to improve your performance. Back then when I enabled advanced PhysX I couldn't run this game higher then normal. When I disabled it, I can run it smoothly at high and at 15-20 FPS at very high. I haven't noticed much difference other else than no pebbles launching when you jump. I am using a 8800GT, Q6600, and I have 4GB of ram.
While patrolling my user.cfg folder i found a text fragment that said slowmo 0 (probably from that whole bong incident) any luck binding it to slowmo 1 or something?
Bah, they want me to prove ownership of the game to get this unlock code sorted out but they tell me to write the reference number on the cd key sticker, just above the actual key - there's no fucking room! It's tiny, I can't use a seperate peice of paper or photo edit the thing in so...wtf can I do???
Try telling them that? :P
Try telling them that? :P
Yeah I guess but that means I'll have to wait yet at least another 24 hours for a response..probably won't get one till monday as it's the weekend and I'll probably have finished the game by then! :(
I really don't know about this game.
I have heard countless times it has some parts that are amazing, and some parts that are drop dead awful.
The atmosphere and story are great, and it looks really good graphically, but the game play, shooting, AI, and currency system are flawed to just outright bad- not to mention its only 8-9 hours long (or so I have heard).
I have heard the negatives are acceptable, then I have heard they are game breaking...
So I just cant decide if its worth the 50 (or 60) dollars, I mean, it looks good, but I just got BC2 last week, and I really don't like spending too much money, just to be disappointed.
Seriously, what do you guys have with the shooting? haha.
I really don't see it. It's just the same as any other FPS, you point, you shoot, you can aim down the sight, what??
Also the currency system is kind of cool imo, makes a change and the AI doesn't seem so bad, a bit twitchy when it comes down to stealth and cover but overall, they're fine.
8-9 hours isn't too bad for singleplayer either I think, some people wanted it to be a bit more freeroam or open ended but I like it as it is, it is based around a book afterall it has to follow some sort of close plot, fine by me, it's like an interactive story which is also my thing.
I guess it's opinion but REALLY don't get what some of you have mentioned about the shooting, nothing wrong with it! :)
Shooting is pretty FPS-standard, though some guns (shotguns especially) feel and sound very weak. The AI is pretty bad, but I saw it coming when the devs pretty much admitted that it would be.
I found a nice neat method to kill [sp]Librarians[/sp], use the helsing arrow gun. Fully loaded it takes only 3-5 shots to take one out. Very, very effective. It makes the whole [sp]library, look in the eyes shit[/sp] overall easier.

I already knew that. And I only had 8 bolts, so I had to make sure to retrieve every single one--God help me if I missed.
How's the replay value?
Does it really seem like a game you'd bother playing after one playthough, or is one playthrough enough to pretty much see it all?
So I just beat it... [sp] Are there multiple endings? Ending was kinda meh.. had the mental showdown with the dark ones, shot him a bunch, nukes hit their stupid fortress and made it go boom and then Artyom sat down to watch the fire. [/sp]

About the shooting; I shouldn't have to empty 2 clips out of my AK to kill 3 mutants. And it doesn't make it any easier when they clip into you and basically stand inside you clawing at you while you can't shoot them, and can't back up because you are panicking from being swarmed by 15 different mutants at once...And that's on easy. God forbid i jack the difficulty to Normal...Like i said, it seems like the bullets aren't doing jack-fucking-shit to anyone, ESPECIALLY humans. A shotgun to the face from 3 feet away should drop them dead no matter what face shield they have, unless they run around with some 2 inch thick blast-shield hanging from their face. Even then...Doubt it would leave them alive
