I'd go with the rental. It's not too long and you can't do much after you've finished the game except play it again.
I bought it anyway :/ had some games to trade in so it only came to £15 anyway. Rental here costs £6 for a week. So once I've finished this I can trade it in again, so it ws probably a better option.
"Year 1905"
Now I'm probably really late on this, but does that mean that there are Tsar loyalists in here?
If so, YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH
Year 1905 is a street and a metro station in Moscow, so calm down, ladchapmate.
I'm stuck at Cursed station, I always get overwhelmed by the things before I manage to get anywhere, even then I can't find where to go at all.
You can sneak through that part. Although it's very tricky and scary. These fuckers attack sometimes and then I had a massive shitfactory out of my ass.
tried that, got my ass torn off me
Just fucking run!
tried that, got my ass torn off me
If I'm thinking of the right part:
[sp]Go away from the little post the guys are holding, then turn right and go up some stairs. Plant a bomb on the support there if you have one. Then, go back down and enter the right tunnel (I believe?) and get the explosives. Cross back over to the other tunnel (the left) and follow it to the end, where you need to kill some more monsters, then plant the explosives on the support at the end and book it back to the center area.[/sp]
i ran it and used like 3 medkits
Fuck those [sp]Librarians[/sp]. My tactic was to shoot them with my shotgun, then my machine gun and then my pistol. It usually kills ONE of them. And sometimes it doesn't kill it.
And I suck at stealth in this game so I can't sneak past them.
i ran it and used like 3 medkits
What diff are you playing on? I don't know if the enemies just plain ignored me, but I was barely touched except for the last part.
Oh come on. I keep crashing at the beginning of Alley after crossing on the crumbling cliffside. I think it's PhysXCore or something. Man, this is bull. And I wanted to beat it too.
Reinstall PhysX
Just completed it. :)
They say there're [sp]two endings and I still can't figure out what you need to do to get the second[/sp]
This game was pretty cool, but short, yes.
Reinstall PhysX
Did nothing.
Well, I just finished it! Pretty cool, it's going to be one I'll go back and play again probably next year when I get a new computer with all the bells and whistles, even so it looked great in Dx9 at high but I still had slowdown in some places which kind of spoilt it a bit.
My ending was [sp] I nuked the big massive glowing...hole thing where the dark ones lived I guess [/sp]
[editline]04:57PM[/editline]
Just beat the game. First time I [sp]shot the guidance control thing and the got the ending where you spare the Dark Ones and Artyom hints at some type of alliance down the line.[/sp] After that I loaded up the last checkpoint and [sp]let the guidance control computer finish it's countdown and nuked the Dark Ones.[/sp] So which one is the "correct" (canonical) ending? And are there anymore endings? Everyone seems to be getting the [sp]nuke the Dark Ones[/sp] and not the first one I got? Is everyone just [sp]letting the guidance computer count down while they stand around for 20 seconds? What the hell?[/sp]
I didn't stand there for 20 seconds.
[sp] I was flashing in and out of some kind of maze that I was being chased through by one of those...dreamlike dark one thingies and then about 5 seconds the cutscene with the missiles cut in[/sp]
Fuck those [sp]Librarians[/sp]. My tactic was to shoot them with my shotgun, then my machine gun and then my pistol. It usually kills ONE of them. And sometimes it doesn't kill it.

If you're ending up having to kill them, then you're doing it wrong.
Solution: Run, run, run, run, run.
Well I got the "good" ending. Still there are some few things which I don't understand.
[sp]Well, the Dark Ones want peace and want to understand us and all. Though it's a bit weird because they throw every goddamn nosalisis against humans. Understanding, eh? But maybe they're afraid of humans. Maybe I should read the book don't know if it contains a lot of information about this. The good ending was kinda of cool with that "alien" trying to reach the emitter. Although it's shit that you can only get the good ending when you didn't take the ammo and give em to this one guy. Bit confusing, it doesn't make a lot of sense. Still the game is fucking great![/sp]
[sp]Well, the dark ones are just another race of their own from the Nosalis right?
That's what I'm thinking, Nosalis are just mutant monsters but the Dark ones are the next step in human evolution...Nosalis were just being typical instinct animals when attacking you, the dark ones had nothing to do with it, either that or if they were controlling them, they were only doing so out of fear of their own survival.[/sp]
Well, I got it running, a bit slower than I would have liked, but its working.
Its really fun, and I love the paranormal aspect of the story!
[sp]I am just getting smuggled out of Armory, can't wait to play it some more.[/sp] :D

[sp]I thought they were the leaders of the nosalisis and that they would command them. And they came to study humans and how they behave. Well I love the plot though I want to know the origin of them and the whole story. Well I thought all the Dark Ones storyline was a bit short and there remain still lots of secrets.[/sp]
Oh screw this. Great game, if only I could frickin' get past the beginning of Alley without the game crashing on me because of PhysXCore. Fun while it lasted I suppose.
I'm getting that cloud glitch at the part where you crash your cart. Is there a way around this? :<
I think I'm going to buy the book! :D
Good Game.
Indeed it is a good game.
If you get the PhysXcore error and you have Advanced PhysX enabled, disable it. If you have it disabled, try and find another route.
I think I'm going to buy the book! :D
I'm gonna end up doing that too, probably.
Somehow got past the PhysXCore error. Hooray! Is it easy to sneak past those creatures in the library?
Somehow got past the PhysXCore error. Hooray! Is it easy to sneak past those creatures in the library?
I only sneaked past 1 or 2...Every time i tried sneaking past they would end up walking towards me and hitting me, even though i was moving slow, not staying in one place, always keeping eye contact...Probably killed 10 of them and sprinted away like a bitch from the rest

Same shit I had.
Is there a link to the manual or a guide?
