I honestly need to find a way to open the content files and get the musics.
(Since they won't launch the soundtrack until July.)
Anyone knows a way to open those damned .vsf0 files?
I like this game quite alot. I wish there were sites out there that had as much info into the Metro story and items and creatures as there are for STALKER. The whole story is really good. I think I may buy the book. STALKER and Metro are both really good. The similarities are obvious, but having, in the end, being based off the same book (STALKER directly from Roadside Picnic, Metro from the book Metro 2033 and 2034, which were based off Roadside Picnic) they are acceptable in my eyes.
The whole Dark One thing really interests me.
I'm stuck at the snot bubbles.

Yeah. I remember when I first pre-ordered the english version of the book. Having one of the first copies is awesome.
Also. [sp]To pass through the amoeba thingies, shoot the things that produce them. They explode. Try using the elevator glitch where you and Miller can stay on the platform and you can snipe most of them.[/sp]
Librarians are a bitch...
If you get that dll error go to the game's directory and locate the "install" folder and install everything in there.
I hope they add modding tools. So many possibilities. If they add DLC there could be campaigns based on Metro 2033: Travel Features and Metro 2033: Dark Tunnel. Metro 2034, too, but I hope they make that a sequel to this game. And is it just me or is the English version of the book only in the UK? I asked about it at my local book store and they didn't have it.
I don't believe the English version is out outside of the UK yet.
Found a link to order a hardcopy online and shipping's free.

If you managed to pre-order the english version from UK, it is.
I'm all the way in south america and I got this deliciously delicious lecture.
The engine is incredible except for the pop-in, which is most noticeable at the main menu
I'm wondering how this game would run on my rig?
Intel E8400 @ 3GHZ
ATI 4870 512mb
4GB DDR2 401mhz
Win 7 Pro 64bit
I ran Call Of Pripyat on max dx11 1650x1080 fairly playable, I believe I should expect considerably less for Metro?

Is the English version written well?

A few grammar errors can be noted (Counted just 3 during the first 60 pages).

We're talking about the book.
To get the good ending seems like a chore, the devs didn't think that one over too well.
Well. You have to make good actions, I'd say they thought about it. Specially because the Dark Ones save your ass a lot of times.

I never did anything good, different things get a different response. Just like Mass Effect different things get a different reaction but sometimes those you couldn't just because stupid bullshit that doesn't make sense.

oh, i didn't read the last few pages

I'm replaying it just to get the alternate ending so that I can have a choice to spare Dark Ones every time I replay the ending.
Just bought the game today and started playing it. There's a little tiny lag, but fair do's, I'm running everything on max. The lagginess sort of distracts me and kills immersion, but oh you guys, I just have to have everything on maximum!

I can upload in HD now :)
Will there be a sequel for the game?

Librarians are fucking scary. You're hiding in the decomposing library, away from the beast. You hear its creepy-ass moans wandering through the hallways, checking every room to find you as you sit in a corner listening to the creepy moaning noises come closer to you. Fucking shit, I ran like crazy in circles trying to find my way out.
Jesus this game looks nice. I'm running it maxed out (not with DX11 though) and I think this is one of the nicest games I've played.

I've heard that if this sells well enough they're going do Metro 2034, also based on the book of the same name.
What the hell is big black and red thing in the center of Moscow? Didn't noticed something about it in book.
Dark One town or something

It isn't clear yet, but it might be the Botanical Garden. Where, when Artyom was a child, he traveled past the guards in the station and opened the containment barrier with the other two kids, if you've read the book, that is.
When they got out of there, they left it open, and years later, they dismantled the barrier and used it to fortify defenses at random stations.
Artyom might have been the "Tool" that was used for the Dark Ones to infiltrate the station.
I still don't know if that's what makes the Dark Ones consider him "The Marked One" ingame, but I'll try to find out.
Man this game is ridiculously hard. I'm supposed to be doing this stealth mission which is impossible. First I figured out that theres another route that I'd never imagine finding because getting there just seemed ridiculously stupid, but whattaya know? I can take an alternate route! cool! saves me from trying to knife everyone in this one area! Ok so I go to that other route, encounter laughing russians, knife them, and just as it auto fucking saves I get spotted by guards. Great, so this is the only save I have and now I have to either fight them off which is near impossible or restart the whole game over again.
I tried fighting them off, which isn't too hard anymore cause you're use to it, just when I think it's rainbow road after killing all the guards some guy comes up in a train trolly shielded mounted machine gun thing and kills me within a heart beat.
Fucking pisses me off.
