I'm at the part where you have to escort the kid, those damn rats are annoying. I was able to knife them without sustaining much damage a bit earlier, but now they somehow developed incredible strength and can kill me in less than a few hits. Another problem is my lack of ammo, and I don't want to use my damn currency since I'm going to buy more equipment later.
What do the plots of those other Metro 2033 books revolve around/involve?
Other characters in the Metro 2033 universe. Travel Features is revolved around a pilot and his men who aim to fly to St. Petersburg, Dark Tunnel is revolved around a young anarchist militant, Metro 2034 revolves around the residents of Sevastopol who are cut off from the rest of the metro and are struggling to survive, Peter revolves around a stalker named Peter where we are back in the mysterious catacombs of St. Petersburg, and the newly announced Towards the Light which is coming in April is in St. Petersburg again and who that is revolved around is uncertain. I can only translate the prologue and the news post on the site doesn't offer much info.
This game is absolutely beautiful, if you look at all the animations and detail from a game designing perspective you really see the true beauty, I mean the transitions from when a mutant jumps on you have to tap a key is marvelous.
First off, the game is pretty damn taxing, I am running it maxed out DX9 1024x768 on a pretty old rig:
9800GTX
2GB RAM
Athlon FX-62
Vista 64
Runs pretty well and besides the general stretching (Native resolution on my screen is 1920x1080 and its a 47" TV) and the lack of AA it still looks gorgeous. Framerate is sticking around 18-30 and is completely playable. I don't want to sacrifice the eye candy because it's just so damn good.
It's breathtaking how much detail is just everywhere, guess I can't be too orgasmic about it because it IS a linear shooter so they had plenty of time to polish but damn..
Well just beat the game and got pissed as fuck after I did all the moral choices and still got the bad ending.
Does Svedka have anything to do with Metro 2033? Like a deal with them?
I've done 4 from that list and managed to get the good ending, I guess I have the other 1 or 2 its missing.
Why would anyone not want to kill the Nazis? I don't see how that gets you a good ending.
Why would anyone not want to kill the Nazis? I don't see how that gets you a good ending.
If you listen to some of the guards, you can hear that most of them are only in it for the Money and are trying to support their family, and do not really support Facist beliefs.
Made me sad for the rest of the level. :saddowns:
Thought it was kinda funny when he said something along the lines of "Even after the destruction of mankind, people still fight over ideology."
It's funny how it's apparently a bad deed to swing your knife at the place with the candles and pictures of children at Cursed? station. Screen went dark and I heard a sound.
Swinging a knife. Unbelievable.
I finished the game second time, i wanted to get good ending.. :( always bad ending... i will start again soon as possible.
After what happend lately in russian metro, the tittle of this tread should be changed. ...future is now!
I completed the whole game without even knowing there was different endings and shit. I loved every damn second, especially the ghost tunnel. My only grief with this game is it's so damn short :saddowns:
So.. I'm not sure if it's a spoiler or not so I will tag it anyway: [sp]at the last part with the nazis just before Polis I've heard some nazi telling a story about a secret called Metro 2 just right under them. I went looking for it but I aciddently found the way to that ranger guy and couldn't climb back.[/sp] Did anyone else manage to find this?

Stinking anarchists.. got what they deserved.
The Metro 2 thing is a legend of some sort of ghost metro system, I don't recall the details.

Well there was that sort of sound after listening to convos. Maybe it's not a legend?
Yeah, there is a legend it exists. Some people belive that it was build to survive the apocalypse, and some belive it's used by the government to travel around the city without getting in danger. Guys, who try to find those stations are called "diggers"
It's funny how it's apparently a bad deed to swing your knife at the place with the candles and pictures of children at Cursed? station. Screen went dark and I heard a sound.

It's because you're performing an act of violence in a sacred place to honor the dead. There are a lot of 'opportunities' to lose karma in the game. I also found this happens if you shoot any of the children on the playground during the flash back in Dead City, if you dart out so the Hanza patrol sees you when traveling with Bourbon and you run too far ahead during Anomaly when Khan tells you to stand still. Funny thing about the last one, you see the anomaly head straight towards you. When I noticed this, I dashed back to the beginning of the stage to find it was still coming towards me. It stops if you hide in the debris of the collapsed tunnel though.
YES IT ARRIVED IT ARRIVED!!
The book I mean.
A question regarding the "walk on" dream: what's better, walking on or going back?
I have also ordered the book, it should be arriving next week :buddy:
A question regarding the "walk on" dream: what's better, walking on or going back?
Walk towards the Dark One to earn positive karma.
Im still waiting for the game to arrive!
I'm still waiting for Metro 2033 to be back in stock at the Book Depository so I can get free shipping! >:(
Could someone please tell me the plot to this game? I know the overview and the main basis, I just want some specifics.
I have also ordered the book, it should be arriving next week :buddy:
Where'd you get the english version from?
I'm at the part where [sp]You're in D6 and you're with miller, and you have to walk through that tunnel full of blobs[/sp]
THERE'S SO GOD DAMN MANY OF THEM OH MY GOD
I can't beat biomass. Impossible, even with crosshair on and difficulty on easy.
THIS GAME HAS MONSTERS SO IT'S A DUKE NUKEM RIP OFF

thats like calling half life a doom rip off cause they both have shotguns.
Too bad the game does indeed rip-off STALKER and Fallout 3.
Too bad the game does indeed Fallout 3.
This I don't get, why do people just say Fallout 3?!
As if FO1 and 2 weren't post apoc?
At any rate, I very much disagree.
