Even if you could mod Metro 2033, I don't see much modding potential for it.
I disagree.
I found unpacking tools.
Also a .model importer and texture fixer. On a Russian forum, of course!
Squee!
Now we just need a mesh and skeleton importer for the dynamic models..
Well.. from the feedback from this thread I may just rent it. Thanks for saving me 60 bucks :v:
Just beat it. Don't quite understand the "Good" ending. ([sp]Sparing the Dark Ones.[/sp])
I love the end theme of this game, it is one of the most perfectly made pieces of music for a video game.
It perfectly captures a distopian setting, mixed with a western theme that gives a sort of heroic vibe to it, which basically represents the whole theme of the game.

This game has some of the best soundtracks ever.
I wish I could use the automatic shotgun.
The book is so amazing, just finished it. The game is quite loosely connected to it.
Bah a fucking hooker stole my money :(
I think the DLC will be new weapons and/or items for the game, hopefully the automatic shotgun too. Man I wanna try that gun out.
So out of Question does this game offer how much RPG like elemnts?
Or is it a Shooter
Shooter all the way
I finished this a few days ago, gotta say, one of the most atmospheric and greatest games I've ever played. Although the FOV bugged the shit outta me, it's so tiny!
And now I hear there's 2 different endings. Oh man gotta play it through again.
I just beat it, and it is in my top 5 favourite games. I loved every moment, even the stealth.
I wana get good ending.. :C
It would be cool if they made a sequel based on Metro 2034. That has to be translated first though along with maybe the rest of the books.
I would buy it but i have barely any space on my hdd
Just cause 2, it just has more replayabillity
Altough, if you're looking for a dark, cinematic story with loads of scripted events, i would go with this.
Rent this
Buy Just Cause 2
why can't i turn off SSAO and shit, i think it's killing my fps during combat sequences. i have a i7 920 @ 4 ghz, 6 gigs of ram, and an oc'd 4890 and i don't get solid consistent frames on high detail, AAA, 16x AF, and dx10

Because the developers were retarded not to add separate options or this is a console port. I seriously can't believe for a game sponsored heavily with DX11 and Nvidia to not EVEN have proper video settings. Just Cause 2, a PC port even has better settings.
Does anyone hate the inconsistency of Artyom's speaking? He always talks inside the chapter loading screens but inside the game, he NEVER talks at all. All he does is make grunts when he gets shot or then uses a medkit. And then out of nowhere, he decides to say FUCK! at the end of the cart ride and you wonder why he was mute the whole time before.
I fail to see the main point of this post. If Artyom talked outside of the chapter loading screens and in the cutscenes and gameplay as well, it would be very distracting and would interfere with the immersion.
This game does look very good. But is it really worth the money? I mean, the game is a linear singleplayer only game. Doesn't that mean that the game basically turns boring after that you have completed it once? Well.. unless you want to grind achievments that is.

I just noticed that there are two endings so I suppose that adds a bit of value.
Is there any way to change the spoken language in game to Russian while keeping the subtitles English? When I was watching some Let's Plays on Metro 2033, the characters were speaking Russian with English subs.
