hey guys, quick question. would you guys recommend the game for PC or Xbox 360? also, here are my PC specs: Intel Pentium Dual Core E6300 2.8ghz 4gb DDR2 ATI 4670 512mb (slightly overclocked) max resolution 1024x768
Rented it out for Xbox 360. First impressions were mediocre, but the game really grew on me the further I got in. The "horror" aspect of the game is really lacking, it's more horror themed action. However, the setting is great, and the entire game really does feel like scavenging and fighting for survival, be it against monsters or fellow humans. On that note, the human firefights are fucking outstanding, great AI for the most part and every fight was fucking hard. However, the stealth shits me off to no end. It's all well and good until you actually kill somebody, underpowered bullets don't penetrate the shitty helmets, and even if you completely kill them before they can get a shot/radio report off, EVERY fucking rusky bastard knows EXACTLY where you are, regardless of where they are. It annoyed me to the point where if there was an area where I couldn't sneak past without killing motherfuckers, I just said fuck it, went loud and killed everyone. Also who was bitching about librarians earlier? They're piss easy to kill: semi-auto shotgun + aim for the head.
Yeah, it never really felt like a horror game, it got fucking intense at certain parts though.

beat it yesterday, good game
However, the stealth shits me off to no end.
Yeah, it's pretty unforgiving, though try purchasing the stealth suit in the armory as it helps tremendously. You'll be able to walk and not produce any noise to boot.
Also who was bitching about librarians earlier? Especially if you stab them in the face, they'll tend to whine and stagger often.
The music cut from the game is quite interesting.
the music is awesome. also I just got the game for Xbox and so far I love it. [editline]08:02PM[/editline] they they release a soundtrack? if they did I would buy it
I wish you could stop the Librarians dead in their tracks by looking in their eyes like in the novel.
I wish you could stop the Librarians dead in their tracks by looking in their eyes like in the novel.
You can. You just have to stare at them, step back when they growl, but keep staring, and then they'll leave and disappear from the map.
On medium, yes.
I got it for xbox since I got no responses, it was on sale and I wanted to get it before the sale was over.
I'm really interested in learning how to adjust the damage done by weapons. its gets annoying when i shoot someone in the face, or in the back of the head and all they do is change their mask. would like the guns about 2 or 3 times more powerful, explosives are fine as they are. thanks ahead of time, -someone else

I wish there was multiplayer. like Nazis vs Communists or a horde mode with waves of all the monsters, seems pretty cool to me.
Good game, however what I really want to know is[sp]what the hell happened to Hunter[/sp] And [sp]in the Dark One's crazy mindfuck maze at the end, was that really him trapped or something or just a figment of imagination?[/sp]

It can only be assumed he got overrun and killed.
I was pissed that it isn't available on steam in GB... Got it for 22 quid off amazon :v:

There's not enough room up there to move around like that without falling off.[/sp]

lolwut
I'm amazed that I have yet to find a video game where the bullet holes are realistic My dad was in the army and some guy got shot by accident. The bullet doesn't just leave cleanly, it opens a huge fucking hole. However, thats way too gory and probably why its not used. [editline]12:44PM[/editline]
Why the hell are you obsessed with showing everyone that they look different?
Why the hell are so many people obsessed with graphics...
Because graphics are an important part of the game if you're looking for something atmospheric.
Apparently there is a Helsing on Dead City 1, but I can't find it. Does anyone know where it is?
What is a 'helsing'?
its a gun
They're going to be releasing info about the DLC this week. I can't wait to see what it is.
testing the DLC over the weekend... it's probably not what you expect, but we think the true Metro 2033 fans will love it... 8:38 AM Apr 19th
will the DLC be for both PC and Xbox?
I started a let's play of this today, uploaded in 720p. The game is running on maximum settings with all the eye candy (Except for PhysX because I have ATI cards.) I've never beaten it so I will probably get scared quite a few times heh.

The Glock did about as much damage as you'd expect one to, the Shotgun tore through the meat carcass, almost severing it in half and the AUG left a massive hole twice the size of my clenched fist. Gunshots are not clean.
