Still coming. One critical bug is preventing its release.
I hate bugs like that.
Bought it today. Ohmygoditissopretty.
Metro 2033 has the best fictional world ever!
I still prefer the STALKER Zone though, it's not just a nuclear wasteland. Metro 2033 is still interesting, though.
What ever happened to the DLC?
there's DLC? how would that work?
Anyone know why my game doesn't launch? No errors, just no launching.
I ain't sure if I'm getting this myself any time soon, PC might not handle it too well and frankly enough I'm saving up for other stuff. But luckily for me there's a load of folks who do let's plays and playthroughs on it, so I can enjoy the show. It's not the same thing as playing the game myself but still, it's as close as I can get.
Not sure if I should pick this up for $25 I'm really interested in the atmosphere but I know once I beat it I'll be done, and I figure that'll be like 10 or so hours (I like to think that if I can get at least a good solid hour worth of non-poor gameplay per $1 then it would be a good purchase). And post-apoc setting isn't something that makes me cream my pants, but I can appreciate it a little.

At times very challenging. If you're on hardmode, it becomes very difficult. Trust me.
What is happening with your avatar? It looks like something's coming out of her. It looks whitish, though.
thanks, now I've noticed it, too. don't you think that question should have been asked through a PM so the rest of us can continue discussing the game instead of staring at the stripping .gif looking for white stuff falling out of her? and nobody's answered my question about how DLC can work with this game...
You're gonna need a new thread title soon..... [editline]04:30AM[/editline]
I still prefer the STALKER Zone though, it's not just a nuclear wasteland. Metro 2033 is still interesting, though.
1+ agree
Metro 2033 was fantastic, I played through it three times in a week. I still need to get around to writing my review, though... If you've got the extra money and aren't holding out for anything else, I really think you should buy it as it's got a really good story and, even though it's linear, there are things you can do that alter the ending of the game that might encourage you to play through it again. And I'd like to believe that this post-apocalyptic scene is a bit more different than the generic one that's been popping up lately in the gaming industry. I mean, come on, it's in a subway network.
I might pick it up. I dunno it's just I just bought X3 Terran Conflict and have a speeding ticket to pay :frown: Definatly a game I want to try out sometime though.

It's a least worth one play through, it was a magnificent game. And, at the very least, pick up the book and read it if you can.
I would rate this game a 9.4/10. Raises the bar in terms of levels of interactivity within a game environment and is one of the most, if not THE most immersive game i've played yet, even rivaling Oblivion and Fallout 3. Environments are destructible, AI reacts to changes in light/sounds and will investigate if they hear something and may discover dead bodies, you can actually shoot peices of armor and the gas masks off of people. If your looking for a totally unique experiance try Metro 2033, offers an experiance no other game can quite match. It's definately somewhere in my top 10.
I never considered Fallout 3 or Oblivion the prime examples of immersion, really. More like the opposite.
S.T.A.L.K.E.R is a better example.
That I can agree on. Penumbra too.
I picked it up. Seems that the game forces a higher resolution than my monitor can handle, does not run in windowed mode, and i cannot find any cfg commands to change it. Suggestions?
Got this game in the THQ complete pack, probably won't bother installing it until I get my new computer.
I gotta read this book, and its sequel if its in English.
I gotta read this book, and its sequel if its in English.
Yeah it's translated.
Is the translation any good, because translations can fuck up books pretty badly.
Is the translation any good, because translations can fuck up books pretty badly.
Apparently there's a few silly mistakes but it's not a complete fuck up, the reviews on amazon said the translation was great, just a few silly errors.
Um I've searched everywhere for an English translation of 2034 and could not find one, so if you could provide a link that would be great.
im still annoyed by the fact that there's been no new announcements on the dlc
Um I've searched everywhere for an English translation of 2034 and could not find one, so if you could provide a link that would be great.
Metro 2034? That's not yet translated.
Oh, when you were quoting that other guy I thought you were referring to both books.
I still prefer the STALKER Zone though, it's not just a nuclear wasteland. Metro 2033 is still interesting, though.
Elaborate.
Oh, when you were quoting that other guy I thought you were referring to both books. Elaborate.
Depends on if you want me to spoil the STALKER plot.
This is so far the only game I played that has the reference to 300. [sp]SPARTA![/sp]
