Depends on if you want me to spoil the STALKER plot.
I honestly don't care if it's spoiled for me. I'm never going to play it anyway.
I wish there was a way to make the gas mask unbreakable..im stuck in a certain part in chapter 6 (i think its 6 anyway) and right as i step out of the elevator/trolly i get hit with something and my gas mask breaks and i die :(

Take off your gasmask, get hit, then put back on your gasmask so it won't break.
Can any fellow Metro fans be a dear comrade and upload a save game that is compatible with steam, on hard at the ranger outpost preferably.
Much love and tits for a giver.
I still prefer the STALKER Zone though, it's not just a nuclear wasteland. Metro 2033 is still interesting, though.
Yeah, I agree with this - I love Metro 2033, and it is very atmospheric, but something about the Zone makes me like it more. Both are great games with amazing atmospheres and stories, though.
Anyways, I just finished Metro 2033 for the first time and got the Enlightened ending. That was amazing, I really hope THQ don't screw up 2034.

It's not hard, but you can change the difficulty, if you want. And what level do you mean by ranger outpost? Driving to Sparta?
CoD:MW got nothing on the cinematic singleplayer experience that is Metro 2033

Absolutely 100% agree with you

In the zone there's a small amount of hope of getting out to a normal world. For Metro 2033 when you leave the tunnels or Moscow what else is there? The world for all you know may be in ruins and can possibly be in a worse state than Moscow. Metro's story is very bleak with only a very small glimmer of hope.
I really want this game. It reminds me of Stalker so much, but more scarier, better gameplay, better characters, more interesting atmosphere and story.
Anyone know if this game would run on a 8600 GS? (Yes I have one of the worst cards in the 8 series)
CoD:MW got nothing on the cinematic singleplayer experience that is Metro 2033
CoD:MW has nothing on nearly every single game ever made.
The only thing that disappointed me is Artyom's pronunciation of Bourbon and the fact there were only like, three male models and four voice actors.
Seriously, near the end I was so confused because two guys who looked and sounded exactly the same were giving me orders. wat
Still an awesome game.
I love how the gas mask can break and causing havok. Maintaining a good breathing aparatus is a happy Metro dweller
I loved this game, All the suspense of never having a lot of ammo. ...Well I never had more then 60 shells, or 80 bullets.
what is the DLC even supposed to be?
How exactly would DLC work since it is only a linear single player game...
I picked it up. Seems that the game forces a higher resolution than my monitor can handle, does not run in windowed mode, and i cannot find any cfg commands to change it.
Suggestions?
Reposting, still haven't found a solution. I have found 3 cfg's and manually changed the resolution in them. Stil doesn't work. Anyone know if there is a command in the cfg to change the refresh rate? Else i'm stumped.
That's weird, I think the first time I started it, it ran in 800x600 or something.
I had so much dirty ammo it's ridiculous. You never needed to conserve ammo at all.

On low, maybe.

On medium that is understandable, on hard that seems downright impossible.
God, this is one of the most beautiful games I've ever seen, and the world is incredible. It's got a few gameplay issues though, namely: Fighting with mutants being a giant clusterfuck, Stealth sections having a lot of potential but being ridiculously hard to complete undetected, Confusing ammo system, and maybe that requiring STALKER like preparation isn't really th best idea for a shooter as linear as this.
Ammo system confusing? In what way?
Also the mutant clusterfuck added to the intensity of the game, and the stealth sections made you feel like a badass if you went through undetected.

I was wowed by this game when I got another 5770 and turned the settings up to very high, :iia:
Just got it for like $25(Thank you steam sale) and I am loving it.

My initial resolution was 1680x1050, not supported by my monitor. But it still doesn't work even after i changed it. Also, it refuses to use any command line commands like -windowed and -autoconfig, so that won't help me either :/

Try one of those programs that force windowed mode, it worked for me and I had the same problem, my monitor won't go past 1024x768 (yes I know it's old).
Then change settings ingame and run normally.
This is the one I used

If this works i will forever be in your debt, kind sir. I will try it as soon as i get home from work!

I held the reload button down for a little too long when I was reloading my SMG. In a matter of minutes, all the military grade bullets I needed to buy more ammo, and weapons that didn't suck ass, were gone. I learned my lesson after that, but I'm sure they could have figured out a better system than that. I prefer not being able to fire my hard earned cash away into oblivion at a moment's notice.
This thread is coming to an end :(
BTW
i was playing this game on pc and my brother got it for the 360. When he started the game i saw that all those nice effects were gone on the 360.
FUCKING NOSALISES :argh:
Just completed the game, [sp]climbing up to the tower was amazing, but the ending seemed unsatisfying for me.[/sp] It was incredible fun, though a bit short.
What's gunna be the title for the next thread?
