I absolutely loved Mass Effect 1 and Assassins Creed 1. I rented ME2 a couple weeks ago and it was alright, but my girlfriend recently bought me AC2 for valentines day (she absolutely loves the game and thought I would too. I'm lucky :D) Anyway, I found AC2 to be much better than ME2 from where I stand. There is so much more improvement over AC1 than ME2 has over ME1. Plus, they really aren't on the same level. AC series is an action oriented stealth based slice and dice game, while the ME series is a much more in-depth RPG. My suggestion is to rent ME2 before doing anything. If you like it, go ahead and pick it up. However, I liked ME1 much better than ME2, plus, it's sorta important you get the storyline from ME1 before ME2. And with AC2 as a backup in case you don't like ME, just sell it back to Gamestop and play AC2, which I know for a fact you will enjoy.

He thinks ME2 didn't change much from the original but thinks that AC2 changed a lot from Assassin's Creed. He's obviously insane.
Depends if you like RPG games or action games more. Personally, I hate Sci-Fi RPG games, so I would go for Assassin's Creed 2.
