Well the stamina is acceptable in Blue sockets, imo. If it's mix of Spellpower and Stamina of course. Gemming for pure stamina as a caster would be just.. unwise.
Even for PvE gear, I actually preferred gemming spellpower/stam gems instead of spellpower/spirit on my mage, even though you get extra crit rating from Spirit through Molten Armor but it's no biggie. I've always liked having an extra large HP pool.

Sure. I always pulled my own weight in PvE encounters, by dishing out an average 7-8k DPS. In some fight even as ridiculous as [B]11k![/B]
Also climbed up to 2000rating in 2v2 just for the sakes of getting good epics in like.. 3 arena gaming sessions, let's just say it was straight ahead to 2000. I wouldn't count myself a failure, at least not in WoW. :v:

You are half right. It was Twin val'kyrs, but I didn't have my own disc priest, or any consumables (lazy me :v:), and yeah I had incanter's absorption. Why would I wanna skip a good talent?

My average DPS is still around 7-8k, and I think it's pretty okay.

I do 17k dps.
The fact I reseted recount for whelp phase in ony and then judged my dps from that point when I did aoe doesn't change any fact though
