You thought wrong. This is probably my favourite Xbox game, and I strongly preferred it over the realistic and seriousness approach of GTA IV. [editline]01:33AM[/editline] No it doesn't. The only similarities in the story is that you're in a gang and there are enemy gangs, after that it takes a completely different direction.
Who're you? The opinion police? I didn't like it on Xbox and from what I've heard the PC version is horrible. I feel it was totally over rated because there are plenty of other games with visuals and controls etc. Similar to SR2, but they constantly get slated. It's missions were boring, shooting people was like shooting inflatable dolls and the characters were boring. The cars could drive at super sonic speed and constanly felt like driving on ice. Plus, when I heard my character speak it never actually seemed like he was the one talking. Cockney seems a bit random for a 'gangsta'. Overall, it just felt like they wanted to try and show up GTA by making a half baked clone.
I actually had alot of fun in SR2, especially with the co-op mode with a mate. Until the fucktard deleted his friggin' save file! What they need to do is obviously optimise the PC port, and improve the vehicular handling.
I don't know but there was something wrong with Saints row 2, it wasn't a bad game , but it started feeling stale pretty quickly. I first tought GTA iv would get boring pretty fast but it kept feeling fresh.
I hope it doesn't look horrible like SR2 and you can actually produce a character that doesn't either look mentally retarded, horribly ugly or homosexual without spending a shitload of time on it. And I hope the PC version will not be so awful. [editline]05:38PM[/editline] Actually, if SR3 could be just be a mix of SR2 and GTAIV, it'd already be awesome. The graphics, atmosphere, overall alive feel of the city of GTAIV and the customization, wacky activities and shit like that from SR2 in one game would be just awesome.

It's just nonsense. If they can improve the graphics and physics to match GTAIV then I would be a very happy man.
Fuck yeah, SR: 2 was so much better than GTA4.
Can't wait to see what they have cooked up for Red Faction 4.
I think every freeroam rpg set in a city is now considered a GTA clone.
Really? I play with all the settings on as high as they get and my FPS doesn't drop at all during gameplay.
Same. [editline]07:09AM[/editline]
I think every freeroam rpg set in a city is now considered a GTA clone.
Then everygame that involves monsters and space is a doom clone. Or halo clone if you want to go just a little back. [editline]07:11AM[/editline] I liked the driving in sr2. It made it harder and gave me something to play with, flipping and shit off stuff is a lot of fun.
I thought Saints Row 2 was terrible. For a game slagging off GTA IV so much, I would've thought they would have made it better than GTA IV. But it's terrible compared to GTA IV.

I mean, yeah, some things in it were fun and the customization was very varied. The cutscenes were kinda cool too, but everything else just felt really badly made and the way the player moves felt horrible awkward. And the city was just so incredibly dull.
Is the Co-Op in SR2 PC any good? I was thinking of buying it for that, but I've played though the SP before and it's very, very unpolished.
I loved SR2 simply because, unlike most other games, it doesn't take itself seriously. The whole thing is either a laugh riot or "Holy shit, that was cool" moments. I've clocked up about 100 hours in co-op alone with my friend, and we still haven't finished OR gotten bored with it. GTA4 I also loved, but I felt it was a little too serious for my liking. The story was pretty dark and depressing, and a lot of people use video games to relax. I'd rather drive through a city on a flaming quad bike than go bowling with my Serbian cousin. Anyway, I really can't wait for SR3, and if you have a console and you haven't played this, just rent it, at least. I seriously think that you would buy it roughly 60 minutes after playing it.

I like both games, and in my modest opinion, Saints Row is just plain better.

If Saints Row 2's driving physics were like Grand Theft Auto 4's I'd love it, but it killed the game for me, I couldn't stand the 1990's Arcade style driving, everything else was Okay though
Awe yeah, can't wait!
I'm so excited. I've been playing SR2 again lately, and I cannot wait to see what they're going to do with SR3. I hope it has a multiplayer sandbox mode, or at least a 4-player co-op.
Gta IV's storyline was meant to have dramatic moments and such but it wasn't really dramatic, I somehow felt more drama in Saints row 2 cheesy storyline when your captain guy dies.
Gta IV's storyline was meant to have dramatic moments and such but it wasn't really dramatic, I somehow felt more drama in Saints row 2 cheesy storyline when your captain guy dies.
The cutscene where you [sp]kill the leader of the Ronin's son[/sp] is the best cutscene ever.
I liked the first two, though I hope they make things a little prettier this time around.
I just like playing the Insurance Fraud missions for ever and ever
The cutscene where you [sp]kill the leader of the Ronin's son[/sp] is the best cutscene ever.
This. My favorite scene of the game. And for the third, I hope it takes place in a new city or place and not Stillwater from SR2 with a few new zones in it.
SR2 was suppost to be that way I heard because it was trying to be like a cheesy action movie. For COMEDY!
I liked the first two, though I hope they make things a little prettier this time around.
Gotta agree with you here, id like to see more crazier things, ya know? Personally id love to see more outfits and better coop. Had too many with coop to count :saddowns:
They better fucking put RF4 in first person again or I am going to be mildly disgruntled. I hope they unshittify Saint's Row, as well.
I will buy it only if they give effort on the PC version
I don't care if it's Saint's Row 2 with pretty colors. I just want a damned decent frame rate. :C
Saint's Row 2 is probably my favorite game since Half Life 2, I have high expectations for Saints Row 3
I'll buy it if they fix Saints Row 2's superspeed mode on Windows 7. Otherwise, they can fuck off.

I don't think so.
