i think if you put enough crabs into a rocket it literally overloads the physics engine when they all blow up
Could be. Dropping crab bombs in crates has an awesome side effect, though--the crate creates a pit when it lands, then it opens, releasing the live crabs. Enemy AIs drop into the pit to kill the crabs, and as soon as one dies, the gibs kill all the others, and the ensuing flood of crabgibs engulfs the unfortunate bot in a rising tide of gore. :v:
Also, with proper timing you can shoot down dropships with the crates.
But it's not the live crabs that kill things, it's the gibs when they die and are expelled violently from the crate. Like, as soon as the crabs start dying, units across the map explode into gibs. It doesn't make any sense.
I made a gun like that, kills with 'air pressure'. Every time I fire the thing it's sorta 50/50 the gunner doesn't get turned into red goo. :v:
So overpowered but so satisfying.
So this seems to be how most of my scenarios go.
1. Start scenario/campaign
2. Build well-though out, well-defended base
3. Battle begins
4. Give up and nuke/crab bomb the enemy
5. Win!
Also, one time I won by simply taking control of my dropship at the beginning and squishing the enemy brain as he exited his rocket.
Also fun to drop napalm down the holes attacking brains dig

Also War to End All Wars is best mod.
That mod is okay, but I prefer the Wehrmacht mod myself.
I love giving crabs a single napalm bomb and placing them at strategic locations around the map. The enemies shoot them which makes them explode. Should work against players too since they look like normal crabs. I can't test it due to no friends.

Except it's not air pressure, it's the MO limit. There's way too many, so it removes some MO's, which results in some people dying.
I love the KME weapons in the SAW mod. I gibbed a guy while he was leaving a dropship and his body flew off so fast that it came back round the other side of the level and still had enough speed to blow an engine off the dropship it came from.

Using the GAUSS cannon thing? I have a fun little game where I do One Man Army Extended on the hardest difficulty with the indestructible unit from Whitty's modpack and just see how many dropships I can shoot down with that gun. It's hilarious.

I want a scenario where each team has 3 Ronin soldiers armed only with Revolvers. Call it 'Wild, Wild West'.
I love the ACO Delta Covenant mod: http://forums.datarealms.com/viewtopic.php?f=61&t=31502&sid=e16bccf49246e2be63a156e0eddbd698
What have you DONE
Playing the game as it was meant to be played, obviously.
So, can someone explain to me why crab bombs are so effective? From what I've seen, dropping 15-20 crabs in a crate seems to kill pretty much everything, no matter how protected by terrain--including my brain! Why does this happen?
I think it's because the crabs leg have a fairly big sharpness set, that's also the reason why they make holes in your bunker when they stand around wiggling for too long. Either way, said sharp legs become limbs, and since everything explodes, those gibs are flying at nice speed on the enemy. It's like a lot of shrapnel.

Sounds like it could be true, but it's not. You just made that up. It's because the crabs all gib, which spawns MO's. A lot of them. So many, it reaches the limit of MO's. So the game decides to remove random MO's to stay at the limit, which results in death.

Well, it was just my theory, wasn't trying to say that it like that and not different.

But the crab bombs kill everybody.
Yeah, It doesn't just remove random MO's, it removes all life.
It punches through the fabric of space and damages everything.
But the crab bombs kill everybody.
Yeah, because who the fuck would make a crab bomb small enough to only remove a fraction of all MOs? If you're crab bombing, chances are you're gonna be mashing that crabactor button like there's no tomorrow.
Also below.
But the crab bombs kill everybody.
That's because people's heads and limbs get removed, thus killing them.
I just bought the game this morning, and decided to play some endless survival mode.
So I spent an hour building my base and placing all my units and then I clicked go. I selected one of my miners and went out to get some gold. Next thing I know I start hearing explosions so I get out of my miner and go over to my base.
Every single unit the enemy spawned was a browncoat with a super-duper energy rifle. I lose my base within five minutes.
:suicide:
(This was on the easiest difficulty, by the way.)
I hate fighting any kind of robot. They aren't as fun because they just keep attacking without giving a fuck whilen ronins and whatnot start bleeding to death (they also make funny noises when dying)

Yeah I've noticed that. Seems the skirmish AI tends to stick to one or two factions only now. Just before I was bum-rushed by techion and only techion.

I wish there was a morale system. You could gib one guy in a squad and the rest all run like hell while a dropship gets called to extract them.
But that's dwarf-fortress levels of detail.
How would I make it so actors come in pre-equipped with weapons?
I tried to crabbomb once
my computer exploded the second the crabs landed

The problem is, that units move so slow that it would look like they are trying to lesiurely walk away from the danger rather than run.
Except, you know, jetpacks.
Now those poor fellas without jetpacks, all they can do is toss themselves on the ground and hope for the best.

They are robotic clones controlled by either remote brain or A.I.
They don't feel pain or fear :v:

A shame Actors are so jetpack dependent though.

I know, walking is really difficult when the terrain is bad.
