anyone who doesn't think skirmish is fun, edit your activities so you have a shitload of money, actually build a base (the prebuilts in the unitech mod i suggest) and play on nuts! or the hardest.
it's insane yet awesome. you practically need super weapons to hold off this giant horde.
Does that mod that allowed you to pit the AI against itself and still intervene at any time still work in B27? That was fun as hell to watch and to play with.
Do you know what it was called?
I preferred this game back when it wasn't so serious.
Friendly fire?
Pah!
Half the fun was launching a rocket only for the guiding system to spaz out and have it take out a friendly actor.
That still happens, vehicles still collide with all actors, including friendlies.
But thankfully you no longer get those retarded deaths from accidentally standing under your dropship's engines.

Tartarus. It's been updated for B27. Some custom factions (40k, eat a dick) can be difficult to set up for it but it works great.

Data's to-do list.
So no chances of getting a mouse fix?
So no chances of getting a mouse fix?
What do you mean?
What do you mean?

Ever since an earlier build, perhaps b20/b21, I have had issues with my mouse cursor speed ingame which has made mouse input impossible to control.
In the menu when moving the cursor slowly, the mouse hardly moves at all or stays still. When moving fast the cursor zips across the screen as you would expect, but uncontrollable and unusable. Ingame it is much the same, though harder to see with the cursor being hidden.
Perhaps some code for joystick dampening has slipped into the mouse cursor as well? Whatever is causing it, it means I cannot play the game with Mouse and keyboard (the best way) and are forced to use the 360 controller.
In previous builds I have tried various things like uninstalling mouse drivers, changing/disabling cursor acceleration settings in windows and logitechs systems, and nothing has helped. I could try the same for this build as well, but having to cripple my mouse setup for one game seems somewhat silly.
This game is really hard to get into. I just can't figure out how to do anything properly and everything is just a batshit clusterfuck. The controls really need to be improved.
Don't play in fullscreen.
Don't play in fullscreen.
But I WANT fullscreen!
But I WANT fullscreen!
too bad
Quite enjoy when you shoot a dropship in a certain spot and it starts doing cartwheels towards you at fucking light speed. Managed to dodge it once, it just flipped right over me.
It is on the list though.

there was another one that was like a skirmish defense situation except it was endless and ai played for you.
I do wish AI would attempt to do brain hunt when defending their own bases on the metagame.
They kinda just waste all their gold on a ridiculous amount of units that just sit under my rocket filled with skeletons.
[editline]13th June 2012[/editline]
Also, I get this weird thing on Burraki Desert specifically, where after playing 5 rounds and fully fleshing out my base, my units can no longer shoot and hit enemy units. This always happens if I leave one unit with brain hunt on the map for an extended period of time. My only choice then is to drop a crate full of bombs on the enemy brain before it gets underground.
Don't play in fullscreen.
What's wrong with fullscreen? I play fullscreen and I've got no problems.
Yeah well some people do and you need to learn to respect that.

These are possibly some of the best mods around if you're into hilariously overpowered crap and mass destruction. :v:

that computer brain one is hilariously amazing
What are some lore friendly mods/factions?
there was another one that was like a skirmish defense situation except it was endless and ai played for you.
Yeah, that's the one I was talking about. I don't remember what it was called, though.
What are some lore friendly mods/factions?
CC has little in terms of lore, basically anything balanced is lore-friendly for the most part.
NovaMind fits in pretty well
Also my game keeps loading a .rte that does not exist in my cortex command folder.

Check if it is in %localappdata%\VirtualStore.
What are some lore friendly mods/factions?
Because of the open ended plot of there being a massive universe full of different races there are few mods that could break lore.
Personally I really recommend Unitec. Adds many creative weapons, actors, crafts, and bunker things. It's a bit overpowered, but it's up to you how you play it.
Check if it is in %localappdata%\VirtualStore.
There is no such place on my computer.
Are the whitebots ever going to be officially added? The concept art for them seems really cool.
Are the whitebots ever going to be officially added? The concept art for them seems really cool.
The development plan is to finish the metagame and then flush it out with content. There have been a few whitebot community mods but nothing very good
Funion, what's your problem?
for some reason using darkstorm slows my game down to a slideshow most of the time.
i have absolutely no idea why, i don't even use the special units that are immune to fire, emp and other things
[editline]13th June 2012[/editline]
i don't like how the to do list seems to not mention fixing the idiotic AI in metagame..
