In the computing world 10 years is apparently ancient. Beside superficial UI changes can someone please tell me why W7 is so much better than XP? (I have W7). If people don't want to upgrade then why the fuck should you care?

In the computerized, if it's 5 years old it's old. No exceptions. So many technological advancements are being made that it would be ridiculous to keep the old. For instance, once Nano tech is cracked (Which is not too far down the road) they will be able to keep 500gb of data on the size of a quarter. So once that's done, everything will be obsolete (Not old, just obsolete). Edit: Wrong amount posted.
Well it's more optimized than XP for a start.
Any proof of that? From my own testing a clean install of XP uses around 500mb of system memory, W7 Ultimate uses around 1.2GB.
That has nothing to do with how optimized win 7 is.
"In computer science, program optimization or software optimization is the process of modifying a software system to make some aspect of it work more efficiently or use fewer resources. Fixed my post.
Any proof of that? From my own testing a clean install of XP uses around 500mb of system memory, W7 Ultimate uses around 1.2GB.
In my experiences, every program I use runs better and more smoothly on W7.
What the fuck does this have to do with the idiots trying so hard to terrorize me based on using XP?

You got so much it don't matter.
I still use xp, And I play all the newer games on it, my computer that has vista has the same exact setup (cept instead of nvidia it has an ati card, but they both have same performance, the one in vista is actually newer) and vista runs games half the speed.
Memory is like HDD storage capacity. You got so much it don't matter.
In CS "memory" refers to system memory i.e. RAM.

"Turn off superfetch." What is this? I looked it up on google it is some type of program monitor?
"Turn off superfetch." What is this? I looked it up on google it is some type of program monitor?
It monitors your programs and pre-loads them for faster start times/load times.
It monitors your programs and pre-loads them for faster start times/load times.
Explain how to turn this off because I never knew about this either. [editline]09:27PM[/editline] Nevermind, I am dumb ill just google it.
