Planetside 2 V4 - The roadmap to Basic Features and a Playable Framerate

As long as they never make the flash boost stop giving thrust in air i'm happy
I mean, It's pretty much useless, often fatal and hilarious every time
Anyone play on waterson? I'm beginning to lose faith in the NC on the server as we continually get stomped across the board despite having more people. If anyone has some reassurance or reasons to switch to another team then I'd be much obliged. It's fun to fight in desperate struggles, but when its practically all you do it gets a little tiring.

Join the TR soldier.
Tank hunting with a dual seat flash seems really awesome. I was hoping they would do something like that as well, pairing up with a few friends and having one shoot down aircraft and stuff.
Uhhhh, did waterson just do down for anyone else?

I'm on Waterson as NC. We do pretty well overall.
Jump into a DVS, DigiRev, or Mad Tea Party squad.
DVS tends to be zerg oriented, so provided you are on point, you are mostly free to accomplish your objectives as you see fit but retain the benefits of being in a squad.
Digirev squads are far more regimented. You are unlikely to be making many decisions, but transportation tends to be handled for you and you are likely to see a fair amount of action. Just stay on top of what they ask you to do, as they drop people right quick who aren't sticking with the team.
Mad Tea Party tends to be my favorite. They tend to run only one or two squads, but generally sick together and see combat. Their goal tends to be what is entertaining, rather than necessarily what makes the most sense. Generally they try to be useful on a global scale, but if things get slow or begins to drag, you can expect something ridiculous like a flash crash.

DVS is one of those 'shit' outfits. In a equal ended battle TR outfits went up directly against DVS and some other groups and completely broke them. One of those instances is where DVS thought it would be smart to use all their aerospace points on a big galaxy rush, which ended up shit because we had something called lack of stupidity.
I'm pretty sure 30 galaxies in the air is a troll move.

Or the great air drop/raid in Planetside history.
I've wondered how many Skyguards it would take to shut down a horde of Galexies before they suicide crash into them.
I'd guess three Skyguards trained on one Galexy could probably down it within a thousand or so meters of travel, at a realistic range. Anybody have videos of massive hordes of Skyguards shooting upwards? I want to see some absurd walls of flak.
I wish skyguards actually had nice looking flak.
Though really what they need is a combat computer upgrade in the optics slot that locks onto aircraft and then calculates a lead point for you to shoot at in order to hit them on their current trajectory. All modern AAA units and air superiority aircraft have such things. Forcing you to use the hit indicator to gauge distance and offering absolutely no assistance is rather silly.
I'm waiting on the new launchers, personally. The Decimator isn't better at killing MAXes unless they've got no armor certifications whatsoever, and it's only better than a stock dumbfire launcher against tanks if you're hitting from the front/side/top, it's not any more effective from behind. Splash is the same, so no improved AI use.
It might be if the new stuff doesn't have some close range utility. I can't think of any situations where I'd be hitting a tank head on and prefer improved damage to not being easily hit by a shell, but I'm sure it's nice when shit hits the fan in certain facilities to just suicide charge something that's already been damaged.
So I started playing this a few days ago
Did I make the right choice picking Vanu?

You should have picked TR!
You should have picked TR!
Honestly it depends on your server, but with the up and coming prowler Nerf + Flinch adjustments the NC is probably going to be the best. But while prowlers are still broken as shit TR is the best.
You should have picked TR!
i'd rather cut my balls off
fascist scum
Where can I find a list of the changes to the Flash? If the only thing they changed is adding a passenger seat and allowing it to cloak, I'm going to be pretty darn miffed. The issues with the flash are a thousand times deeper than these gimmicky new features. It needs a complete overhaul of its handling system.
You're going to have to cut them off anyway so you can fit into the spandex tights.
nah just evolve a [sp]cloaca[/sp]
[editline]11th March 2013[/editline]
don't google that btw
Since everybody has close quarters weapons such as the pump action shotgun, I decided to go back to basics and shove a foregrip onto the default carbine. It's actually quite effective, better then I remember.

We fight for the will of Vanu!

This, or speed up the projectiles. I have a 2.5x zoom on the skyguard and I STILL can't see where the fuck my flak is going. For a vehicle that is shoehorned into a single role with virtually no way to defend itself from anything else, the skyguard is pretty garbage.

the general consensus for the skyguard is that zoom makes it harder to aim.
not like anybody should be using a skyguard for any reason anyways.
hey guys, should I use a NS-11 for my combat medic, I set it up with high velocity ammo, compensator, laser sight and a 3.4 sight
or should I use my gauss rifle S with a underslung shotgun, 3.4 sight, and HVA
I like to be the jack of all trades, master of none with decent combat capability at every range so

The only way to find out is by trying both and seeing which you prefer, but personally I'd just go with Gauss S but with foregrip instead of the underslung shotgun. That thing is just too cumbersome in the thick of fighting.

gauss rifle has low horizontal recoil already
i tried both, the NS-11 is easier and less punishing if you don't land all of your shots and it's slightly more accurate with a higher rate of fire
the gauss has more damage per bullet though so idk

If you want something fast firing and fairly manageable for your Medic, you should try out the GR-22. I use it and it's quite the gun in close quarters.
But the reload time on it is a bitch.

I want an all around assault rifle though
SMGs/carbines aren't my thing

GR-22 is not an SMG though. Go give it a try with a trial.

Time to sit around a corner and shoot enemy tanks from safety with that phoenix :v:
I wonder how they plan to balance it.

Horrible turn sensitivity, low amount of fuel before mid-air detonation.
