they already said that it will have massive damage compared to the other two.
im going to go with low damage.
and by the way. does anyone know when GU4 is even supposed to come out?
Nah, I doubt it would be low damage when they're hyping its "heavy payload". I'm going with hard to steer and low range too. Plus making the user vulnerable while using it is a pretty decent drawback on its own.
GR-22 is not an SMG though. Go give it a try with a trial.
it's absolutely devastating at CQC but lacking at medium and long range I'll think I'll stick with the NS-11
the lasher could be useful if the charge shot does more dmg than a decimator, or if it does more dps than a decimator.
the other 2 options are just not interesting. the av turret made rocket launcher gimmicks obsolete.
I want an all around assault rifle though
SMGs/carbines aren't my thing
The NS-11 isn't an all-around assault rifle though, it's a medium to long range marksman's rifle. The time to kill and rate of fire are lower than the TR and VS's actual "all purpose" rifles and it's equivalent in stats to TR and VS weapons stated to be for medium to long range.
It cycles faster than most NC stuff, but that doesn't make it a more versatile, it's a tradeoff for it shooting smaller bullets and being designed for medium-long range bursting. The stock Gauss Rifle is actually one of the best all-purpose guns in the game.
I'm having a lot of trouble being effective with the default TR carbine. The VS and NC ones feel like flat upgrades compared to it.
I'm hoping the lancer is near hitscan like it was in PS1. God it was such a fun weapon to use.
Anyone have any information on the DVRS or DRVS VS outfit on Waterson?
Also, looking at the scoreboard for most time played, and there are people with 1300 hours invested in this game, good god.

Go for either an AMC or Lynx depending if you like CQB or ranged fights.

The AMC really isn't that great for range. It has enormous amounts of recoil and doesn't do that much damage.
AFAIK, it's basically just the standard TRAC-5 with a slower rate of fire.

should I turn back to the gauss rifle S? I did love the burst fire mode
I'm starting to regret leaving my gauss rifle baby
I've been through thick and thin with it
Swap over to the reaper and hit like a truck.
Striker reminds me of the red flare launcher from new vegas.
Anyone have preferences for medic weapons in NC? I'd like more variety than "SPRAY YOUR CLIP AND HOPE FOR THE BEST." Does the burst fire gauss actually improve your shot or does it just give you the illusion of being more accurate?

As I said, the Reaper is my preference. Others may like different weapons but I like the reaper. 20 round magazine, but it does significantly more damage per round than most AR's. You can switch to semi automatic and actually use it as a marksman rifle at range, or full auto and just slaughter people in close quarters.
is there any marked difference between the tier 1 and tier 2 laser sight unlocks?

They seem to basically double the effect of the regular laser sights. Entirely worth it imo.

Entirely up to you, I'm just saying your preferred shooting style isn't what you thought it was. If you like the NS-11 stick with it.

There's no way of saying this that sounds nice, but the "upgrade" of the Solstice is taking substantially longer to kill in exchange for about 1/6th less recoil. You are probably lousy at recoil compensation. Considering the VR rooms come tomorrow, I would grab a few of the carbines and see if you can work out whatever's throwing you about it, because the standard TRAC is a gun nobody should be using poorly.
Getting kinda tired of getting steamrolled by the TR every night.

If you can't beat the republic, join the republic.

I tend to ping pong on it's performance. I use it with a compensator and a forward grip and sometimes I think it's freaking amazing, and am confident enough in it to use HV ammo, and sometimes I find myself missing like 600% of my shots with HV, so I take it off, then find myself dissatisfied with what SEEMS like REALLY freaking slow bullet velocity.
It could just be lag on my end, but overall, it's much more accurate and controllable than the TRAC-5 as well as having a fast reload.
Also, looks like we will have GU04 tomorrow at 9am eastern!
It's 'major highlights' feature the VR room, as well as an improved floor plan for towers.
here is a more complete list of highlights:
A brand new VR Training area, a place to try out every weapon, cert and vehicle in the game risk free
Flash Update which brings a new rumble seat, wraith module and the new S12 Renegade shotgun
New Respawn / Map interface
New drag-and-drop functionality on the platoon management window
Balancing of reserve ammo on infantry weapons
Tuning of AOE damage
Increased rewards for vehicle destruction
All new tower ground floor design
Warpgate rotations
Increases to passive cert gain for members as well as new member status panel
TONS o’ bug fixes
Account level unlocks are not coming this week because they are being extra cautious about player inventory or some such, and ESRs are coming next week as well.
I really hope that the second set of PA shotguns will make it this week as well and just aren't considered a 'major feature' but oh well.

Taking bets on how bad the FPS is post-patch :v:
Taking bets on how bad the FPS is post-patch :v:
I'd say about -10 fps.
Tower floor revamp? Sounds cool.
Yay, VR training area. I can now practice my flying without worrying about AA and hostile fighters.

That's the main thing I didn't like about the last WG rotation.
We always had the top half of the map, which gave me plenty of room to practice flying without worrying about AA/trees.
So it really is just a rumble seat and wraith cloak for the Flash. Jeezey Pete.

You forgot the best part, the shotgun for the flash. Now I can make people feel even worse when I kill them in my flash.
You forgot the best part, the shotgun for the flash. Now I can make people feel even worse when I kill them in my flash.
wonder if it's going to require you to be stupidly close in order to be remotely effective.
but here's the thing I want to know the most: will it be able to use SLUGS?! Now THAT is something I can put money behind, if only for the sheer hilarity.
Can NC maxes use slugs by the way?
I'm stoked about the shotgun, but without a very much needed reworking of its controllability, the Flash is still, and will always be, little more than a non-competetive "just for fun" suicide machine. I like to pull out the Flash, but you're dead meat the second you get on one. All you can do is hope to kill a couple infantry before you inevitebly spin wildly out of control for no reason whatsoever and get merced.
The Flash needs heavy reworking of its maneuvering and traction, so that you can actually do what you want to do while controlling it, instead of just crossing your fingers and hoping it all turns out more or less the way you'd hoped. They also need to drastically improve its turret angle and give you a way to see what's behind you while on it.
Warpgate rotations? Does that mean they will change immediately with this update or rotations will happen after a certain amount of time?
