err, what? that's exactly what the fly by wire setup helps avoid; not only can you fire over cover, but because there's no lock on, the target is unlikely to retaliate until after they've been hit
I'd take the phoenix over the striker any day
So, I was watching some NC dude try and blow up a tank with mines, accidently shot his mines, blew him up, had to /tell him and ask him why he blew up from a shotgun.
"Doesn't give a lockon warning" has no validity here. The Phoenix will require you stand out in the open where someone can paste you and your gunner can negate the rocket, and the Lancer is guaranteed to not kill anything before you can identify where the particle effect originated and reposition. The Striker is going to share the lockon launchers' vulnerability to smoke, be less affected by it due to having its damage diffused over multiple shots, and kill faster.
That is, by definition, overpowered. They're either failing to convey something important or this is going to be a very shitty week for anyone who isn't a Terran.
The Pheonix you can fire from behind cover, whereas the Striker and Lancer you have to keep LOS with your target until you score your hits, giving the enemy plenty of opportunity to waste you in the meantime. The only difference between the two, the Lancer doesn't warn the enemy they're being targeted (unless of course the enemy sees the big bright ball of plasma charging up). If any ESL is going to be overpowered, I'd put my money on the Pheonix. 300m isn't really that short, and Higby said that shooting down a Pheonix rocket is a lot more difficult than it sounds.
So what new weapon(s) were added? Because the depot specifically says WEAPONS, when to my knowledge the only addition was the shitty shotgun for the flash?
Last time I checked that is.
So far I've seen arguments as to why each of the ESL's are overpowered.
The Lancer deals A fuckload of damage nigh instantly, with a bit of co-ordination (Planetside " is supposed to be a highly co-operative game, using the whole "Teamplay makes everything OP and thus doesn't count" argument isn't going to fly here.) Three or four people with each a lancer could wreck any vehicle that they get LoS on. This would be great for taking out sunderers, quickly denying the enemy their forward position.
The Striker and it's lock on ability and TTK would make for An excellent way to deal would troublesome Liberators and ESF with rocket pods.
The Redee... I mean Pheonix would let you kill those door camping tanks with relative ease.
they are almost certainly gonna make the tracking on air pretty poor on the striker so that esf pilots feel really pro dodging tons of rockets.
I went looking through the older threads trying to find a V1 (I couldn't), but I rewatched some of the earlier beta videos along the way. It's crazy how much better the game used to run.
I did the v1 thread its stupid outdated and likely not on the fourm anymore since its so old
I will say this, It's going to be Hilarious using the lancer as an oversized sniper rifle.
That's a very nice instakill sniper rifle you have there NC... MINES BIGGER!

Aren't all of the snipers instakill as long as it hits the noggin?

Only bolt-action ones. Semi-auto ones take 2 shots as far as i know
One head one body will do it. A semi-auto to the head feels like getting punched by a MAX. Seriously, damage is comparable.
Don't forget that a high rank of Nanoweave will save you from a boltaction shot to the head.
Oh, Didn't know that. I got the second highest rank on my engi
Maybe i'v taken a few shots to the head and not noticed :v:

You need to be at level 5 and need to be more than 150m away from the shooter
Only then does nanoweave leave you with just enough HP to survive a single headshot from a bolt action sniper
Its arguably the only redeeming factor of getting nanoweave to level 5

While neat, I can think of a lot of more interesting uses for 1000 certs
Such as getting my Liberator upgraded for when they decide to implement acc wide SC so i can get my Dalton over from my other character
client fps fix update released.
seems to work.
They released a patch that fixed some of the FPS problems that GU 04 brought in. Now if only they could fix all of FPS issues that have existed since the end of September.
Just tested my FPS. Warpgate now ticks at 80+ (from 50). Throughout I've been given a 50% FPS boost overall. Sweet stuff this fix.
Do SMG's unlock for everyone when you buy them for one character?
And what about other guns that multiple classes can use?

Do you mean different characters on different servers, Then......nnno. Not yet anyway. Account wide unlocks for stuff that is available to all factions is on the way, with them trying to find a way to do the same with faction specific weapons
In the case of different classes, then yes (mostly). If you buy the SMG, then everyone that could use the SMG can. I think all classes apart from MAX can use SMG's so it should work.
my cpu still doesn't use alot of power at all :/

Yeah, I meant the latter. Wasn't sure on what the current stance on unlocks was, seeing as it seems to vary with things like C4 resupplying apparently. Thanks!

It explicitly cannot make a 90 degree turn. Think about where that requires you to stand relative to the enemy and an obstacle for all of five seconds.
It kept complaining about GPU there too, but since this game is Nvidia optimized my crossfire setup doesn't really do much good.. Like 40-50% on avg on each card while playing. :|

GPU doesn't really matter in PS2. You can be using a low end card and not notice a difference because of PS2 being such a unoptimized bitch. The cheapest and best thing you can do to make a difference is buying a i5 2500K, some big ass cooling setup and overclocking it to hell.

That's a really small house
Nah, it's a giant playing catch with a huge tank.
