It could be spotted on the mini-map, or you could see it prior to hiding behind a wall or building.

it's totally not like vehicles show up on the minimap by default without stealth.

If by works you mean gets you back to Pre-Patch 04 frame rate levels than for the most part, yes.

Clearly someone never played the original Planetside. Phoenix made assaulting any NC base with vehicles a god damn nightmare. Sure, the Striker did more damage over time, and the Lancer was more versatile, but the Phoenix guaranteed your defenders could hold much longer than you would expect. You were never safe from the Phoenix.

There's this thing called "teamwork", right, where you have one member of your squad observe, spot and call out targets for the rest of the squad. Should try it sometime.

One to snipe from 30m away because players dissapear in front of him
One heavy to kill infantry, tanks and aircraft
And 5 medics to keep farming the same dumbshit who keeps accepting the revive option in front of the enemy campdoors :v:

I've never got a chance to see some proper teamwork, so I usually freelance during base captures. The enemy hardly expects to see a Medic charge in from the back and that's funny. Might be a stupid way to do it, but if my team is gonna just sit in one place, someone's gotta do something.
And GR-22 fucks people up at close range.

If the enemies are doing the same, you can't expect big groups to use unconventional tactics.
They really need to address the fact that the Crown and TI Alloys have too much focus. Last night the VS was holding the Crown and nothing else. We had no other places, but [I][B]dammit we have to have the Crown.[/B][/I]

I saw the little ad for them in the launcher for the first time yesterday.
Just a few more certs and I can buy a gun, finally. Was planning on getting the longshot once I got to this point, but now I'm kind of thinking about one of the SMG's.
Stumbled across this when I asked a family friend about shotgun ballistics, during my document forming process to make a balanced and fair suggestion to increase the range of semi auto and PA shotguns.
But the pellet velocity ingame is actually quite slower than that of 12 gauge shotguns in real life.
Slowest ingame pellet velocity for the VS is 255 meters per second (although they have no drop)
whereas the most comparable types of shotguns (NC and TR) have a velocity of 275-300 meters per second.
What's the standard muzzle velocity for a 12 gauge? I was told it was roughly 1400 Feet per second, or 427 meters per second.
I understand that most of the weapons in this game have a drastically reduced muzzle velocity in comparison to their real world counterparts, but why do you think it was gimped that heavily?
I'm not proposing that they all be changed to higher values, but wouldn't it have enabled better, longer range firefights? Bullet drop would have been a bit more predictable factor to go by, I think.
My reasoning as to why they changed it was possibly because there wasn't enough cover to facilitate those sorts of fights and that each battle would been a high-optic standoff. That and maybe facilities weren't big enough either. I mean the ranges fights normally take place usually negate drop anyways.
Meh, just something I found a little odd.
most assault rifles have a muzzle velocity of 900+ m/s, yet I really doubt you can find one that can do over 600 m/s in the game
all guns have slow bullets here

Considering that they claim they made the crown like that on purpose I doubt they'll change it.
