• Planetside 2 V4 - The roadmap to Basic Features and a Playable Framerate

Until yesterday I could play on Medium settings nicely, but today my framerate has gone to utter shit. Even with everything on low I stutter horribly in every situation, am I the only one?
What i did with my pilot earlier today One useful move that took out a AA or AV turret in one go was to dive at it firing the Tank Buster and then pulling up once you was close and letting the belly gun finish it off Worked like a charm
The tank buster is a must for a liberator. It can shred anything along with enemy liberators and fighters. Many times I've won dogfights in a liberator because the magazine is enough to insta nuke a fighter. If a liberator has a tank bust/shredder/a30-walker turrets its pretty hard to shoot down due to almost 70% of the space around the aircraft being a killzone.
Isn't the Dalton shit against Infantry? Ie. no blast radius?
Isn't the Dalton shit against Infantry? Ie. no blast radius?
Dalton is fucking brutal. I honestly can't tell you how many times I've been blown to oblivion by that thing.
I don't suppose anyone with a premium sub has bought the Indar Dry Scrub camo? If anyone has, could you post an in-game picture of it?
I find all of the belly guns to be extremely useful. The only bad weapon choice you can make on a lib is trying to outfit the tailgun for ground attack. If you have excellent air cover, then sure go for it, but it is very rare that you are going to have enough air cover to warrant losing your tail gunner.
The recent nerfs to the Magrider have affected their ability to be used on galaxies, leading to TEST to try and find an alternative. [sp]It didn't work.[/sp]

Until the Walker is actually more powerful on fighters than an anti-infantry grenade I'm never using it.
Haven't played the game in months, does it still have shitty optimization?
Isn't the Dalton shit against Infantry? Ie. no blast radius?
Honestly the best way to get a lib specc'd out on the "cheap" is to simply use the shredder and try to upgrade the zoom optics (and whatever else you can for it) as much as you can. The shredder is really great because of how accurate it is and how much it makes it so you don't get immeidately blasted out of the sky. Nothing gets you shot down faster than a dalton pegging a base - because then everyone wants to kill you ASAP. Meanwhile a shredder can actually kill a tank (especially if properly aimed, which is easy with zoom) in a compairable amount of time as a dalton can, but is virtually un-traceable and doesn't alert the whole team in the area where you are. It also doubles as an EXCELLENT AA platform if you are at cieling height, as the shredder is one of the best AA's in the game if you can manage to land every shot. The only downside to shredder is no AoE, which means that its good at taking out individual infantry but if you have a big glob on infantry a dalton/zephyer is going to clean up much better. Dalton/zephyers you can also do make-shift bombing runs with which is nice - do a quick fly by over a hot zone to do some area-denial softening and be garunteed to hit a good chunk of stuff. While a shredder is pretty much directed fire twoards a specific target.
Damn, and I was just looking forward to seeing a new surge of people fighting at the fucking crown and nowhere else dammit :suicide:
I don't really remember that well, which just goes to show how long it's been since the servers were populated to their limits, but don't continents also have their own pop-cap and not just the servers? If that is the case and I'm not just falsely remembering things, people would (or could rather, depending on the combined numbers of merged servers) be forced to play on Amerish and Esamir.

OK, I've been solely shotguns recently (the 'tight grouping' variations to be precise) to help construct my larger suggestion regarding possible shotgun changes/unlocks. I've been focusing on how effective slugs are at extreme ranges and to see if my argument that they need a considerably faster velocity is justified. The two videos I'm about to post are pretty boring to be honest to be warned, after I found this particular perch I decided to record, as opposed to earlier where I was scoring far more hits in the same location, and earlier. At the very least you will be able to see how my shots are ranging and the time it takes for the slugs to hit at my distance. I also have a pretty good height advantage and still need to arch the shots pretty high. So without further adue; Removing the first one because I realized I barely fired at all, will upload a better video momentarily. At these ranges it takes 3 body shots to kill, or 2 headshots, so the slugs don't seem to lose any noticeable amount of damage as opposed to close range encounters. Fyi, I'm using a TR F1 Barrage with a 4x scope, extended mags, and slugs obviously.
dalton with zoom, tank buster, and the bulldog with IR. i run either high-G or the speed frame with nano regen and fire suppression but im thinking AB might be useful. i dont fly mine much, i usually only pull it to give it away when my buddy wrecks his before his cooldown. my spot if i am forced to fly in it is the rear gun. that bulldog-A mangles both ESF's and infantry.

I tried playing NC its so frustrating I just get flinch locked every time I fight.
I tried playing NC its so frustrating I just get flinch locked every time I fight.
it sucks, i know. but the NC has high RoF upgrades for every class except HA. thats the part i hate, i can do so much better with the GR-22 or the GD-7F than an anchor or any other NC lmg because we dont have a competitive high ROF LMG. dont say EM1, that thing is expensive garbage.
I tried playing NC its so frustrating I just get flinch locked every time I fight.
They're great in biolabs though. You can't aim properly with the lag so it turns into who can hit the heaviest while spraying a moving target you can't properly aim at.
MBroome has graced us with some NC helmetage! I think it looks pretty neat. Like it could be used for EVA or hazardous environment work aside from just being a combat helmet. It also looks solidly corporate. Been looking forward to see a what ps2 incarnation of a corporate sponsored military elite soldier would look like. Also: "As promised the NC helmet, 1of3 designs. There will be prob 2 more next week. TR Update tomorrow promise"
Looks cool, but maybe a little bit too rounded at the edges in some places for NC.
Looks cool, but maybe a little bit too rounded at the edges in some places for NC.
I can definitely see it as being something the 'higher ups' of the NC issuing to their elite troopers.
Cool, they're actually making good helmets now.
Part of me wishes they had just stealth released them one day instead of all this teasing.
Keep in mind that it is concept art. None of PS2's concept art actually looks like what ended in up the game.
The VS one made the transition to model form almost exactly the same as it looked in concept, barring the lack of transparency on the visor because for some reason they claim that they can't do transparent surfaces on infantry yet.
