I spent ages grinding bosses. If you just do them whenever they appear you'll be bound to find something eventually. I actually managed to end up with 80g once from rare drops and exchange rates but ended up wasting most of it from server transfers and such.

Contact their support, preferably Live rather than e-mail if they have one still. Anet is quite good at resolving your issues.
Anet closed their live support, over the phone (which I think was actually just NCSoft and not Anet) and online, when GW2 was released.
Every time I see someone want skritt to be a playable character, I always feel the need to remind them that it will never happen, and somewhere (I am sorry, it was a long while ago), a dev posted that it would not happen.
Even without that, just use logic - unless you had 40 skritt following you around like minipets, you would have the intelligence of a wet towel. A major part of the storyline, helping a minor race (somewhere 30-40) would have to be reworked, as skritt would no longer be a minor race. They have no capital - they live in underground shitholes, collecting trash. Not exactly a beautiful or inspiring place for players to visit. Skritt are still thieves and jerks, and would still be an enemy in the game - the other races have an 'evil' side, like separatists, nightmare court, or flame legion. Those skritt are just being skritt, and steal things because that is what skritt do.
Same to quaggan. Yes, they are adorable, and they were designed that way because the devs wanted you to treat them like helpless babies, which they basically are. They're aquatic, and you can even hear quaggan NPCs talking about how being on land for any length of time is extremely uncomfortable. They are not very bright. They suck at fighting unless they do that transformation, and then they're not adorable anymore, which would be like 90% of the reason people choose them.
If you are actually hoping or expecting them to become PCs, stop. If you are just dreaming aloud, feel free to continue, but don't be sad when it doesn't happen.
Races that actually have a chance to be PCs:
Tengu (They even set aside an area that is their capital)
Largos (Underwater assassin people. Not a fan, I think they look kinda ridiculous. There are a decent amount of people who seem to be interested in them, I dunno. I do think an underwater capital would be cool)
Kodan (To me they feel too similar to Norn, but whatever.)
Races not shown in game, or from the original game. Dunno what might work though.
Playable Tengu? Do want please!
I would bet a large amount of gold that Tengu are the first race added in an expansion.

Though I wish the Skritt were playable - I recognize it'd probably never happen. I just think they're cute. :v:
Also, yes to Largos please. Or at least Largos-inspired armor. I could do without the giant butterfly wings, though they do look cool on the Largos you end up fighting.
I'd love to play as a Kodan.

tengu I'm like 90% sure will be the first new playable character content, the NPCs have been eluding to the fact they'll be opening their doors to the world in the future in order to help. I just hope they fix that weird hollow voice acting if they pursue it.
Largos are too otherworldly
kodan would be interesting if they came along side a new class or something. Otherwise they'd just feel like a reskinned norn.

Your personal story will involve cramming as many skritt into Norn battle armour in order to gain intelligence. It will take the form of a tower defense mode for the first 20 levels.
Question, does the world completion star appear across all your characters even though you've only gotten 100% on one of them?

You can use the "Been there, done that" title but the star doesn't appear.
I've looked forwards to playable Tengus since I first saw the great wall (Which was early in the game, as I started as a Sylvari).
I'm holding off on making a thief until we get Tengu.
