We need more info on this scatratoa thing to confirm it.
Yeah, like where it's located relative to the STEAM directory.
Did anyone get the static away from "dinosaur_noise.wav"?
Got bored and ran Scatratoa trough an anagram solver. Got this. http://wordsmith.org/anagram/anagram.cgi?anagram=Scatratoa&t=1000&a=n
Is Scatratoa a new sound? I don't understand.
Yes
i tried searching parts of scatratoa, like scat, scatrat and toa to see if they were acronyms or anything, though, believe me, you DONT want to search for scat!
So yeah, I just proved that their is a 2nd layer of sound hidden in dinosaur_fizzle.wav http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JieBH5KWIFk Check that shiz out, I even give instructions what i did so you can test yourself if you dont believe me.
though, believe me, you DONT want to search for scat!
No shit.
No shit.
Pun intended? :v:
No shit.
Rated funny for accidental pun. [editline] 12:18 PM [/editline] :ninja:
though, believe me, you DONT want to search for scat!
Are you new to the internet?
Scatratoa sound seems pretty bullshit to me. Although... anything is possible... :ohdear:
Congratulations you just showed what most people with half working ears knew when they first listened to the sound.
Your telling me that in the original dinosaur_fizzle.wav that is so loud, you managed to hear that small segment play? You have godly ears

That is no a 2nd layer. That's just how the music fades out. So it would not be like instantly mute when you throw the radio in the grill.
My maths sense is tingling! When I first saw "Scatratoa", I immediately thought of Sohcahtoa, which is a common way of remembering the sine, cosine and tangent of an angle in a triangle. SOH = Sine equals opposite over hypotenuse. CAH = Cosine equals adjacent over hypotenuse. TOA = Tangent equals opposite over adjacent. I'll be damned if that means anything, but I'm grasping at straws, just like everybody else here.
Your telling me that in the original dinosaur_fizzle.wav that is so loud, you managed to hear that small segment play? You have godly ears
I heard it just fine the very first time. I also knew what I heard was right because its a sound that plays when the radio is destroyed so it makes sense to have whatever it WAS playing turn into that loud combination of sounds.
witchcraft will NOT be tolerated guys i cannot stress this enough
Updated and cleaned up the O.P. a lot with some sound files information IF YOU HAVE ANYTHING NOTEWORTHY, P.M. IT TO ME
Your telling me that in the original dinosaur_fizzle.wav that is so loud, you managed to hear that small segment play? You have godly ears
I have godly ears? Why, thank you sir. Having the Still Alive tune still play for a short moment before the radio dies kinda makes sense though, nothing special.
Is there any chance you could put details of the IRC server and channel being used at the moment into the OP? (#portal on irc.chat-solutions.org)
anyone tried running scatratoa through some data tape format decryptions?
I have godly ears? Why, thank you sir. Having the Still Alive tune still play for a short moment before the radio dies kinda makes sense though, nothing special.
I mean i already found some morse code sounding thing in that same file. Its unconfirmed about that. Finding this in the SAME file is just weird. I havent seen a video or sound with anything on the dinosaur_fizzle.wav with anything in it. The question is, why would valve bother to add that small segment in, if you cant even hear it over that obnoxious loud crazy train of sounds that play over it? It seems pointless to add that small clip in. I just hope im right about being a 2nd layer because that would open more doors to more things in all the audio samples. This shit is to fun haha.
What the hell does Scatratoa mean? [editline]09:00AM[/editline] I know its the name of the file, but the word itself- what does it mean?
Maybe it's just the name of the cliff/mountain/glacier the Borealis could be on.
I doubt there is a second layer in the files — they're already noised up enough for them to be close to non-understandability. If there was another layer, it would be so covered by the other data it would not be differentiable to random noise...

This picture game from gabe according to the guy in this thread. Edit: No this doesn't mean its real. http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1172762
