What's a better perk to get? Meltdown or Plasma Spaz?
Meltdown is terrible if energy weapons is your primary weapons skill, they become explosives pretty much and you'll end up killing everything if you're not careful.
I mean sure, disintegrating an entire party of legion assassins with pew pew or the alien blaster is pretty funny, but it's mostly a hassle.
Wow, this is really making me want to play FO3, especially the addons, again. I don't know what it is, but I prefer the main story of New Vegas to 3 and certain aspects of the DLCs of 3 to New Vegas.
The Pitt and Anchorage were awesome (since I was a stealthy guns user) and Point Lookout was the creepiest of all the addons IMO
Dead Money fell flat with the sameness of everything. I didn't mind the cloud, and I only died twice to bomb collars, so that was no big issue for me. But when I spend 20 minutes walking around the villa to find the one workbench because every building looks exactly the same, my immersion is ruined.
I loved the humor and gameplay of OWB, and I was scared for my life throughout the entire thing until I realized how OP protonic inversal axes are against anything without a pulse.
Honest Hearts was boring and had a very, very minimal story. It was what, like 3 quests involving getting some gear, making a decision, and making one of two pretty inconsequential decisions? I think it mainly served as background to Lonesome Road.
Lonesome Road was awesome except for the satchels. I beat it pretty quick, but I still want to go back and get everything because it was awesome.
Nothing needs to be said about Mothership Zeta because it had the sameness feeling of Dead Money without the good story, Broken Steel was pretty cool but felt sort of tacked on, and I honestly didn't play the side quests past the main one.
I cannot decide if I want to do a run of 3, continue playing New Vegas, or continuing playing New Vegas and modding the crap out of it.
What mods do you guys use that add content but don't feel like they break things? I know some of them change the visuals far too much for my liking, and some quests look very un-Fallout. I just want some added weapon and quest content that fits logically with what I've already done.
How buggy is Tale of Two Wastelands?
How buggy is Tale of Two Wastelands?
Not very. There's a few wierd things going on but it works pretty well.
My main protips:
If you use an existing courier, hack Moriarty's terminal in Megaton to initiate the main quest. You'll also have to issue a flood of console commands to trigger the Vault 101 quest "Trouble on the Homefront" when the time comes, as you miss those triggers outright if you come in from the Mojave.
Don't use the rock-it launcher. It is bugged and will crash your game upon selecting it. This is known to the devs and is fixed in the dev versions, so expect it to work when they update TTW.
New games start in Vault 101. No exceptions. This is done so they can bugfix the DC start properly. Next version should invert that if all goes well.
The railway rifle rapes face. Craft one early.
Get PA training ASAP. You will quite literally be swimming in power armor within a few levels.
Well it's the only crash I've had in my 21 hours playing the game
You're doing pretty good on that front, then. Certainly well above par for the course. I can go about 3-4 hours between CTDs.

Fellout, a couple gun mods I made myself, GRA - Right to Bear Arms.
RTBA changes Gun Runner's Arsenal drastically, instead of it just being "Blablabla go buy your shit from Vendortron stupid", you actually have to go find the uniques. Humanoids you kill will drop notes once in a while that will point you to the uniques. Enemies will also use non-unique GRA equipment, and it also introduces "Weapon Mod Blanks" and a weapon modding machine that you can use to mod guns. You find these blanks in the wastes, take them to the machine, stick 'em in, pay a fee, and get the mod you want. You can also change guns from GRA and non-GRA variants if need be.
I also get a This Machine fixed ISA mod, because it's really sodding annoying how Obsidian managed to fuck up the ironsights on that thing. I'm also quite fond of Puce Moose's addon quests, and XRE - Cars makes getting around amusing as fuck. also gives you a good place to get rid of the 9 bajillion caps you end up acquiring over the game.
but it's so bad
Gamebryo is a cakewalk to mod compared to Xray, and Xray has its fair share of shitty features like Gamebryo.
I only like gamebryo because of how moddable it is, you can pretty much do anything with it

I picked it up, can't complain so far.
[sp]how the fuck is the flamer an energy weapon[/sp]

They should have just kept the big guns skill

Well, fire is essentially just heat energy.

Guns use kinetic energy.

Or would be if the modding tools didn't suck.
But you all know how this rant goes.

Because Obsidian thought they needed more EWs for some reason.
Royalpain has deemed us all late. Let us bow down to the rating god.
Anyway, I'm loving Honest Hearts so far. Getting all the DLC was so worth it.

Go make a mod for New Vegas and then a mod for Call of Pripyat. Guarantee you'll prefer New Vegas.

We were given the tools for modding New Vegas / Gamebryo. Not so much for the STALKER Series.
I feel as though I'm the only person who didn't like point lookout beyond the opening musical cue.
I decided to go and see what Vault 24 is like. Honestly wish they continued to work on it, though I'd probably shit myself if I saw anything in it after exploring the empty thing for so long.
The wastelands of NV are pretty empty at times, are there any good enemy population mods? I kinda feel like I've already decapitated / blown up everything there is.

Have a screenshot of a rocket.

Everyone called me an idiot when I said NV should have more random bandit groups in the wasteland.
Best companion for an Unarmed/Melee build? I've been using Boone the entire time.

Veronica, and give her a ballistic fist

So, this threads recent discussion of the New Vegas DLCs really made me want to replay Dead Money.
Unfortunately, my computer can't handle pretty much any game for the time being.
So, I found this instead, and have been listening to it on loop for a few hours.

SHSF> two-step AND ballistic. Less mess, more damage.
Everyone called me an idiot when I said NV should have more random bandit groups in the wasteland.
I think the reason for there not being lots of thriving bandit groups is that when the NCR came, they fucked their shit up pretty badly, whereas groups like the Fiends were more organized and had a smart leader. Thus, they were able to keep the NCR at bay while bandit groups like the Jackals got their shit kicked in.
It's actually pretty hilarious how OP Veronica can be. Once you give her power armor and a ballistic fist, the end credits may as well roll right then and there, because anything short of an army of legendary deathclaws that shoot lasers from their eyes will be turned into a mushy, red stain in the dirt within about 10 seconds. To top it off, all you have to do to recruit her is accept her request to travel with you. Done.

I'd actually say it's the Legion who probably fucked up the bandits more. Bandits are still willing to act in NCR territory; no one would dare attack anything in Legion territory.
What's always struck me as funny is I live in the area Fallout 3 takes place in.
My neighborhood is kind of in the game. [sp]Though I am not a cannibal (hint hint)[/sp]
I visit DC at least twice a month given its like less than an hours drive and I got friends who live there.
My great great (great?) grandfather was confederate prisoner at Point Lookout back when the place was a Civil War prison camp.
And even one of my high school chums was the son of the guy who voiced Mr.Burke. (Got some great stories about him if y'all are interested)
I feel so fucking connected to this game it's crazy.
My dear friends, could you help me find a mod?
It was a pack of different, sometimes unique and craftable Ranger Recon Armorm and Riot Gear.
The most notable feature, I think, was ability to customize your helmet with drawings, cards and such.
Maybe i shouldn't use the GECK
