really, every skill has its uses in fallout 1, except traps if you have power armor.
That's one thing I'd like to see in the 3D games. Once you've gotten science, picklock, medicine, barter and possibly speech maxed out, along with your primary combat skill(For me Guns), you're set for life. There's no real need to put points into the other skills once you've gotten to that point besides getting to the perk window quickly.
I'd also like to see power armor actually have a use. In the first two games beating them without PA was incredibly hard, in the 3D games it's only marginally challenging if you're average-at-best at FPS. Hell I can do it and I'm fucking terrible at shooters :v:

id use power armor more if it were lighter.
Hell, there should be some light power armor.
to be honest power armor has really lost its pizzazz, in the first two games it turned you from a walking condom of blood to a walking tank, whereas in the 3D games it just turns you from clunky-vending-machine to clunky-tin-of-soup.

Never liked power armor in the 3d games mainly because it takes off that one arm piece for your pip-boy and it just looks weird

Recon armor then?
Recon armor then?
no i mean like, actual power armor, with all the perks, but it doesnt weigh so freaking much
no i mean like, actual power armor, with all the perks, but it doesnt weigh so freaking much
Power Armor isn't supposed to weight anything while you're wearing it, it should be medium armor in my opinion, except for the T-45d.
Apparently updating my video drivers stopped FOSE to stop crashing on me :v:
Is When Worlds Collide a good mod? Because I really want that Mega Fat Man.
So if Fallout 4 is gonna be in the Boston/Cambridge area, does that mean a shit ton of npcs are gonna have thick Boston accents.
Also, on a semi related note: I really hope Bethesda steps up voice acting. New Vegas (especially the dlcs) had some wonderful vocal performances.

Its not like they were bad or anything in Fallout 3
Its just, they had about 10 fucking people to play every single person in the game
1 man all ghouls.
[sp]Or is every ghoul supposed to sound the same?[/sp]
I hope they can create a better engine that is capable of showing more than 5 NPC's on the screen without stuttering.

New Vegas still had that problem to an extent. A lot of the lesser named characters shared the same VA. Old ladies in particular. I kinda wish they'd hire a bunch of amateur VAs that have some talent to do these lesser characters, give us quite a bit of variety. A few of the VA'd mods on the Nexus are done by people with enough talent to pull off lesser characters IMO, I see no reason why this wouldn't be a bad thing.
Well, with Fallout 3 they wanted to bring more top-name talent in to get people excited. Their budget seems to have run out however, which shows pretty bad. With New Vegas, they got hit with a deadline and had to finish everything up that they could. I have no doubt there'd still be plenty of re-used actors, but if they had more time there'd probably be a fair bit more unique voices in the Mojave.
Shit, if they were so short on voice actors why didn't they just get Liam Neeson to play everybody
I would be 100% okay with walking into a room full of nameless characters and ALL of them are Liam Neeson

And morgan freeman?
And morgan freeman?
Dogmeat
Finally doing Lonesome Road. I can't stop playing... but between school, a relationship, and work, it's difficult to get much done video game wise.
Can't wait to beat it. Also, Anti-Materiel rifle always seems to miss at mid-long range, is that normal?
in my opinion, it would be interesting to see a fallout game set in china. there seemed to be a lot of tension between america and china before the bombs dropped, so it would be interesting to see how it turned out, and maybe even a main story about the great war.
Alaska. End of discussion.

Anybody have any good ideas or (preferably) quest ideas for my PnP in Manhattan? A few suggestions, such as a town on the roof of buildings connected by scrap bridges (like the Pitt upper levels), and a quest to repair the subway system.
pls help i am uncreative and bland

I think a decent idea may to have certain building have a random chance to fall over due to decay and damage sustained to them, and the taller the building the higher the chance of it falling over.

Hurricane quest maybe? (Repair seawall/evacuate people/drown everybody/whatever)
Firestorm in Central Park?
Cleaning up piles of corpses which have contaminated the water supply and spread cholera and other nasty pestilences?
Sabotaging a ghoul foundry buried within the glass and basalt of an impact crater?
Cooperating with NYPD remnants to raid and loot abandoned/hostile vaults?
Joining a small but influential cult with a Soup Nazi as its leader?
Blowing up/supplying various factions' drug labs located in the one/two story bomb shelters found under major financial buildings?
Using/stopping people from using GECKs as weapons or pest control or for Central Park restoration? (Obviously this would depend on what it actually is)
Procuring pesticides to prevent birds and vines from structurally undermining an important building (but possibly giving everyone caner maybe?)
Negotiating for the return or ransom or something of captured PCs?
Elevators and floors belonging to different gangs in single large buildings?
Unifying exclaves of faction influence by finding a way to navigate the city?
Holdouts from the war? Like robots or something ordered to maintain order or protect the city from invaders? What about deactivating or reactivating them to help a particular faction gain an edge over the others, or perhaps to stop the advance of a new one?
Dealing with problematic wildlife which makes boat travel nearly impossible around New York? What about using microfusion cells and bug zappers and distributing them to open up waterways?
