SMP went over board with the fucking guns. Every single soldier at the outpost has his own gun. It must be a logistical nightmare to resupply them with thirty different types of ammo.

Alright guys. Every time I run SoC it gets past the first ASUS ad then the screen goes black. I have to press escape to get out of it and it won't show me the bugtrap. I'm using Windows 7 in case that means anything. Edit: Definitely has to do with the mods. I moved the gamedata folder away and it worked fine. huh. Had some weird moments in CoP. Somewhat spoilerish if you haven't done x8. [sp]I finally found that poltergeist, after killing all 4 burers and getting all the documents, thing was annoying as hell, but that wasn't the weird bit. The door leading up to the elevator was closed, and whenever I would walk by a controller would do its yell thing, and then nothing would happen. If I stood next to the door I would steadily lose health. Eventually, I got the idea of shooting the door, it made a controller pain noise, so I kept shooting it until it died, then the door opened. Was that supposed to happen? Or should the controller have been on the inside?[/sp] /end wall of black.
in CoP I am in Pripyat. I have gotten the unidentified weapon, and beaten the book store. What do I do now?
After finishing CoP I had a idea: why don't we all make a overhaul mod for it? there's only SMARTER right now so it'd be something new. we could also work on one for SHoC but that's a little more well traveled ground. Got bored, wrote dramatization of CoP mission. AK74s in their hands, one in black overalls and armour the other in white with a multicam chest rig and cap, which seemed completely unsuitable for this harsh winter weather. These weren't any normal mercs, not like the ones that ran with wolfhound back to the south. Well for a start they were helping this Dutyer. Morgan his name was, he towered over the two mercs in his exosuit, but somehow I was still probably half a foot taller than him in my own exosuit, I see why Owl chose me to come babysit this weapons deal. "You from owl?" the dutyer announced gruffly as I approached them. "Yes. He said you need help" I replied back, standing before him and the looking the three of them up and down. "This is true. I have a bad feeling about this" He made sure his AK74SU was loaded then slung it across his side and marched us to the next room where the deal was taking place. I took my spas-12 from round my back and loaded a couple of buckshot shells then stood beside him and waited for these bandits to show. A minute or so later in they shirked, hooded in black and grey, measly sawn-offs and pistols in their hands, then their leader walked in, all exosuit'd up as well and with an assault rifle in his hands. "What have you got show me?" Morgan requested, seeming uneasy. "Look, we've got these here artifacts, and we can get more of them. In exchange we're looking for weapons and some good equipment." The bandit responded. "You know I got whatever Duty's got, so weapons are not a problem" He paused to take in a breathe, sounding slightly calmer now "All my stuff is top quality, no doubt about it" "Stalkers?! What the?" The bandit leader suddenly exclaimed, looking past us, we turned and glanced over our shoulders, seeing green suited stalkers moving about 'discretely' outside. "You idiots brought a trail here!" Morgan barked out, turning back towards the bandits "Take them down, we don't need any witnesses!" Before he could finish the sentence I had already raised my spas-12 towards the bandit leader. Pulled the trigger and his head burst in a brilliant explosion of blood and fragments of exosuit helmet. The other bandits recoiled still unsure what was going on, the two mercs brought up their AKs and let rip, 5.45 tearing through the bandit's jackets like it was nothing. One of them managed to get a lucky shot off, a sawn-off shot hit one of the mercs straight in the shoulder and sent him spiralling to the floor. Not an instant later than the bandits hit the floors, their bodies broken and bloodied, did the stalkers come in. We turned to greet them, a hail of fire striking them. They immediately dived back out and took cover behind the wall they were surging in through, one was sneaky however and came in through the door the bandits used, firing away with this L85, hit the other merc in the leg and was about to put another in his chest when Morgan turned and fired off a burst of AK fire into the stalker. I was busy charging towards the wall the rest of the stalkers were hiding behind, my finger firmly down on the trigger, a stream of automatic shotgun fire tearing holes in the wall accompanied by screams from the other side. I twisted and dived at the pulverized wall, slamming into it with my shoulder and putting all the weight of my exosuit into it. The bricks groaned and gave way, a jeep sized chunk of the building falling away onto the stalkers the other side, crushing them in an instant. Another stalker was lucky enough to not be right beside the wall and stood almost dumbfounded at what he just witnessed, I turned on my back and jumped up from the now collapsed wall. He lifted his rifle to fire but before he could get a shot off I'd slammed the but off my spas-12 into his neck, causing him to double over and fall to the floor, where I put the final round of my shotgun into him. I quickly rushed back inside the building to see if Morgan was still alive. The two mercs unfortunately weren't. On the second floor I found Morgan, on his knees, clutching a wound, a stalker stood over him with a MP5 to his head. I snuck up the stairs as quietly as one could in a tonne of armour and right up behind the stalker who was muttering something into a radio. I chucked my empty spas-12 aside and clutched my fist around the stalker's neck, yanking him off his -feet mid-sentence on the radio- and to the floor, choking and trying to see what just happened. The image of a exosuit in his vision for a brief second before the soul of a boot crashing down on his face. And then, nothingness. Morgan stood, one hand still on his wound and took a radio from his belt and spoke to who I presume to be owl before he turned to me. "Thank you stalker, you were a great help. I knew these monsters would cook up something, they must have been stalking us for quite a bit. Here's your reward" He remarked, handing over 6000 rubels. I stashed the money away in one of my satchels and looked back up to the dutyer who had put out his hand to shake mine. I took his hand and shook it, then immediately squeezed down with all the force my exosuit could muster, feeling every bone in his hand crunch as he screamed out. I pulled the deagle from my holster with my other hand and pressed it against his body armour and fired, tearing such a wound into him that even the inside of his gasmask's lenses were coated in blood. I let go of his destroyed hand and he slumped to the floor. Checked his body for his PDA, and sure enough it had the location of the Duty armoury. Freedom would pay highly to get this. I pocketed the PDA and reclaimed my shotgun from the floor, leaving the forest authority station and back into the bitter white hell of the snowstorm outside. Hm maybe the mercs will also find this information interesting, their never ones to miss a chance to take a dig at Freedom. I got a feelin' Im going to be a great deal richer come spring.[/quote]
