Wow... Someone managed to turn a beautiful looking game into something that looks like its from 2001 running on the cryengine .5
[editline]12:45AM[/editline]
I live there.
If im not mistaken there was a GIGANTIC coal fire in that region and for some large ass amount of time it actually rained ash (i think it was like for 20 years? idk, i know that it's got a whole ghost town thing going on and was called the "Real Life" silent hill).
The Silent Hill movie was actually very much based on that town.
Methane right?
I just got Call of Pripyat, waiting to install it.
Methane right?
Might be methane, but burning coal creates huge amounts of carbon dioxide and creates pressure underground, It's interesting; fire to burn needs huge amounts of oxygen to burn for such long time, i wonder how it got access to the oxygen first, might have been explosion at first; methane?

In the great words of Sidorovich, BULLSHIT! YOU'RE LYING!
Next thread name is: S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Series Megathread: Pripyat Hospital Edition. It's time for something more serious and related to the actual accident.
EDIT: oh look at that, i changed my avatar XD
The indentation of your childish avatar is still there, you cannot change that. Ever.
yo dogs, how can i get to be trusted by freedom, or duty? (CoP)
I feel bad for strider and his monolithians.
(and i want that extra man lolol)
He used "XD". Is he 12?
My god, you actually went there? Do you know how poisonious it is around that area?
Oh, and if you guys like those pictures, your gonna love this.

I find it also weird that the church belongs to a ukranian catholic group.
there's a ukranian church (not catholic) less than a mile from my house. I know the guy who used to run the fair they have. he makes questionably legal medivka.
/barely related anecdote
He used "XD". Is he 12?
Your avatar makes my penis smile.

I have fallen out of the loop, I need to get back on the STALKER saddle and kill mutants.
7.62 could chew through brick, 5.45 can just barely. No, it's not as good as the 7.62 penetration.
5.45 is definitely the median round here, IMO.
I hate how this series looks incredible (graphically) in some scenes and areas and then it looks like a game from fucking 2002 with no lighting.
Oh god what.

Oh, it wasn't radiation that killed the pilot, he hit crane cables

That seemed a bit on the insensitive side for showing those children's deformities in such a dramatic way.
Also I didn't know Chernobyl is still capable of destroying Europe.

If you want to destroy Europe, drop the nuke on Chernobyl NPP.
even for the helicopters that didn't crash, one pass over the plant was enough to kill you within a week or so.
If you want to destroy Europe, drop the nuke on Chernobyl NPP.
Or just make the ceiling collapse. I guess a good lob and a big like 15-20 pound rock aught to do the trick.

You mean all of Eurasia

It all relies on the wind direction, wherever the wind goes that's where the destruction of radiation would be apparent. Hell some of the radiation from Chernobyl reached the coast of the U.S.
even for the helicopters that didn't crash, one pass over the plant was enough to kill you within a week or so.
That's not entirely true, some people did live even working as liquidators. The people that shoveled the radioactive debris from the rooftops. However most did die.
Wow. I just installed SHoC for the first time in a long time, and I think with all the graphical tweaks I did to it, it actually looks better than vanilla CoP. :geno:
The book CHERNOBYL: Confessions of a Reporter by Igor Kostin is a really good book. He was one of the first photographers to snap photographs of the Chernobyl disaster.
