engine isnt the same its either the evo or infernal engine
It is TR's Infernal Engine
What I wanna know is HOW the developers went from the pretty damn cool Ghostbusters: The Video Game to making this slop. The only way this could be more of a cash in is if it was a crudely made RPG Maker game. If this kind of stuff is what happens when you try to cash in on somethings popularity, then I am freakin' glad no one has tried to make a Breaking Bad game. Seriously, this offends me so much and I've just seen videos. I'm actually GLAD there apparently is a demo because this seems bad enough that actually playing it would make me hate life.
I might buy it for the story and I love the franchise enough to learn more about the Dixon brothers. It just looks medicore from what I seen. Yeah I've seen the exploits but I think I will have some fun with it. Loads of people bashed Dead Island hell even I did but I know I will probably buy riptide because I remember loving the melee system. I think to many people expected to much from this.
this game and dead island aren't even in the same league this is like big rigs level shit [editline]a[/editline] lol metacritic user reviews 10/10 "Not the best graphics, but the game is absurdly fun. Highly recommend for all walking dead fans or fans of zombie survival games. I thought the game was fantastic and was shocked by the negative reviews, loved the game!" 8/10 "Graphics are bad, but hey, i like zombies and i like the walking dead series. So for me this game is pretty good. And graphics doesen't matter so much." 10/10 "People expected this to be left 4 dead 3 with crytek 3 graphics...really people? You cant just run and blast the living crap out of the zombies, you need to SURVIVE in this game. One walker is easy kill but when 3-6 comes you're screwed. And the graphics nazis just come complain here, graphics are just fine. The gameplay and story are great too. I aint a developer neither a bot, im just a proud customer." 10/10 "I really enjoy this game! It's exactly what you want in a horror survival game. It's fun and to the point. This game is not for video game( gamerZzz") elitists, people that LARP or otherwise have no interpersonal social skills. It's a video game for the Everyman who want to slays some bodies." 10/10 "I'm not a person who cares about the graphics of a game,it doesn't make the games storyline better in any way and those who do are probably nerds who live in there moms basement and made a big steamy turd in there pants whenever they watch Star Trek .The combat was very well done, and being aTWD fan as it is I was very interested to play Daryl Dixon's back story and find out how he got his crossbow even though I haven't played to far into the game I could tell it was going to be good. I would recommend it if you like dead island and survival zombie games"
What are you guys on about? It is 20 dollars on steam, I don't know where you guys are getting the "50 dollar" price from?
You're looking at the wrong game.

We're talking about the complete shit which is the product of Activision and the guys who made that Star Wars DDR game for the kinect.
Those reviews are by, no doubt, 12 year olds with buyer's remorse trying to convince themselves they just didn't buy a bad game. This is possibly one of the worst games I have ever seen in my life apart from Revelations 2012, Activision simply wants to cash in on the brand name which it seems it has partly succeeded with people actually buying it before even looking at game play.
I didn't expect this game to have such a universally negative reaction. Sure isn't stellar, but from what I played it isn't terrible. Its nice to see stealth based gameplay in a triple A title, and the whole managing your travel routes is pretty fun too.

Clearly made to make a quick buck from crappy workt. This product prey's on the stupid fans and poorly informed parents.
They did; it's called the walking dead.
Ok let me rephrase, a GOOD and SERIOUS zombie FPS game?

My buddy was stoked on this game coming out, because "it's made Activision, so you know it's gonna be good."
My buddy was stoked on this game coming out, because "it's made Activision, so you know it's gonna be good."
If this game created a successful videogame company i'd be less worried about the gameplay and graphics and more about it coming and stabbing me in my sleep.
its actually worth that price in my opinion
The disagrees on this are a little uncalled for. The game isn't great and is certaintly a cash grab; but if you can get it for cheap you'll get your moneys worth. One hilarious thing about this game is how much Daryl comments on everything you do. It gets really funny because of how out of place Daryls voice is compared to the common survivors (mostly because all the other voice actors suck shit)
this game looks SO boring. the melee is exactly the same shit every time
this game looks SO boring. the melee is exactly the same shit every time
Everytime I see it I think of WarZ. :suicide:
I was really upset when I saw how bad this game is, and I have to agree with TotalBiscuit, the game could have been a lot better if they had put more time and money into the game rather than just be a quick cash grab, it could've been a lot better, the game had some unique features but failed with most aspects such as visuals and AI, I really want to see them make a good Walking Dead action game in the future, until then, I'll just stick with Ghostbusters: The Video Game.
Whacking zombies with the hammer looks fun
I'd say the game at most is worth about £5-10, There are some mechanics in the game that are cool, but the execution of the game is pretty shit. Theres no danger to the zombies as long as you have cars around, if you run into a group of the you can just jump on a car so they can't get you and bash their heads in. The game length is laughable, i completed the game in three hours, and the ending is one of the worst I've ever seen. You can tell that the game is rushed, hell i wouldn't be surprised if this was the alpha of the game and Activision told the developers they can ship it in that state. If the developers had more time and resources i think this would of been a good game.
Whacking zombies with the hammer looks fun
I found the hammer to be the worst weapon as the damage seemed poor, i just used the lead pipe throughout the game as the stronger weapons were so slow.

So has anyone actually bought it here? If so, SHAME ON YOU!
some images from my playthrough: [img_thumb]http://i.imgur.com/zovMC7ih.jpg[/img_thumb] [img_thumb]http://i.imgur.com/9P7VJLPh.jpg[/img_thumb] Did'nt take much effort getting outside the map. [img_thumb]http://i.imgur.com/edchyW3h.jpg[/img_thumb] [img_thumb]http://i.imgur.com/4MH1Isdh.jpg[/img_thumb] This is easy to do; if you stand behind a zombie and cut off the head with a machete, then quickly do the execution you trigger the animation of stabbing their non-existent head.
Maybe you don't care about the fact that buying this game is effectively supporting the devs and telling them that they did a good job.
That's not exactly how it works, but whatever. Me and my friend knocked it over together, and while it really does have some faults, its not the absolute pile of trash you guys are making it out to be.
Activision will always make shitty games like this on a license. They do it for Cabella, they do it for History Channel, they do it for a lot of companies. Any time it's a licensed game, it's the same engine and a shitty game on it.
not the same engine really but it is deffo the rest of it its like they gave the dev team a 30k budget, 6 months, and a "you tried" sticker this game had so much potential, the gameplay mechanics could actually be fleshed out and made into fun mechanics but they clearly did not have the time, budget, and probably studio size to make that possible at all
This is probably what disappoints me the most about the game. There's some real ambition on display here, but it's clear that Activision wanted to push it out as fast as possible to cash in on the popularity of the franchise (Which is especially horrible when you consider that it's partially to confuse people that thing it's the widely-acclaimed Telltale game) before it died down.
