for some reason, whenever i put cheats in for RCT3 they never work.
Am I the only one who found RCT3 disappointing?
I still love this series. I bought the first one purely because I had money to burn and wanted a game. I didn't realise how popular it was. I bought the second one maybe a year after it was released and my mate gave the Third: Gold Edition for free because he didn't play it.
I never have the patience to build immense parks in the 3rd anymore though. I have to properly plan it out and shit first on paper before I really get into it. I find I can only jump in and play scenarios these days.
Still  it to death though.

Plus, I think it was this bloke who made the mighty Legend of Zelda Park. It always inspires me.

It's a good read, seeing how he put it together. It's worth the time, I assure you.
Fuck yeah! I just remembered i got RCT2 when my Videocard died a while ago, since it was the only thing my computer could run without resetting itself.
Time to blow some minds.

That guy is fucking amazing
You said 'original' 'rollercoaster tycoon' and 'realistic' in one sentence...
It's true! And I nostalgically shat my pants ! ! :byodood:

I also agree with this chap.
So I just reinstalled RCT3 myself and started working on a Cruise Ship

Only spent about 20 minutes on it but that's the general lay out
I am gonna restart on my park. Can someone tell me how to make a pool thing and they slide down into it?

You need the "Soaked" expansion pack. The original game doesn't have water slides and pools.
Does Claustraphobia always get a station breaks faliure? Everytime I play, it fails and crashes.
I just found the RCT2 complete pack I bought once for 10 euros. Memories, memories....
I might install it, so many hours wasted on this.
I can't get RCT2 to run in Windows 7...damnit!

Even if you do, it suffers from an OS breaking bug where the game will freeze solid after 20 minutes of gameplay for no reason. When I say frozen I mean entirely, you need to reboot.
I've looked around seems to be a win7 glitch and I haven't seen a fix yet :(
I borrowed my friend's copy of RCT2 and then moved away and never gave it back to him. :smug:
My name says it all to how awesome RCT is.
Aha, I miss this game so much, oh boy the memories.
One of the diverse things I found about RCT3 was the advanced firework creator, a site called http://forums.vpyro.com has a fairly small, but good and committed community. It is where people create their own firework shows and some people create firework shows in real life who come from vpyro, the most amazing thing is that expensive firework programs is just as good as RCT3's firework creator. They create shows that are mind boggling realistic and the amount of effort that goes into it is astonishing and the people who create fireworks are extremely smart. The firework editor is based off particles and they have created lasers, water fountains, holograms, lights and very realistic fireworks, they take a very smart person to create them so I admire some of the people that put in the effort there.
Some works by a very talented member who is the best person with the AFE (advanced firework editor) I'm sure better then any Atari member who worked on the game.

sorry to bump. i was reading through this. damn you! made me reinstall CANT STOP PLAYING!?!
Sorry for bumping this thread, but this game is so awesome I could not resist.
I rarely actually built a park in Roller Coaster Tycoon 1 and 2. I just played around with the dumb guests by placing them into the water, building a Roller Coaster that would obviously crash, etc. I basically kept finding ways to play around with the dumb guests. I loved playing around with the dumb guests just as much as actually building a park.
Unfortunately, they got rid of the many ways to play around with the guests (And made them smarter) in Roller Coaster Tycoon 3. I didn't like Roller Coaster Tycoon 3 as much as Roller Coaster Tycoon 1 and 2 because of that and some other stuff (Roller Coaster Tycoon 3 was still fun to play though).
Anyone know how to get free RCT?
Just buy it, its only $5.
Oh god, I just bought RCT 3 on ebay because I remembered playing the demo for days.

I bought it off steam, and I run Windows 7, and it has NEVER crashed on me.
and a funny thing I figured out with RCT3 is this:
If you DO not have the soaked expansion pack, you do not have the underground option, so if you use a tilt coaster, and a downward tilt section flat on the ground, you can break the world.
you just cannot build under the world without landscaping, and I am not certain it was tilt coaster that does this.
