Goddamn fuck I almost had you. gj rolling through that bleed, you cheeky bastard :v:
Hnngggh, hate bleeding weapons. Still got you, though. <: [editline]15th March 2013[/editline] Well I think that does it for me for tonight. Thanks for the fun, dude. :D
Oh man, I have a char you're going to love. Give me a few minutes to switch over and build my IP pool back up. [editline]14th March 2013[/editline] Oh, OK. Some other time then. Good fights
the dark souls thread in which a two-man chat is held regarding their pvp experience [editline]15th March 2013[/editline] for almost an entire page nice
the dark souls thread in which a two-man chat is held regarding their pvp experience [editline]15th March 2013[/editline] for almost an entire page nice
Shows how inactive this thread truly is. :B [editline]15th March 2013[/editline] And that was the first time I got riposted by a Chaos Rapier. "Oh...that riposte barely did any damage on me, what a jok-" *all my health disappears when i'm thrown on the ground* "DAAAAYUUUUMM"
You just described why this build exists. Also for when I'm being ganked on, I can just get one BS on a phantom/host and KNOW that they are ded. Feels good. Also invading some drained Anor Londo SL10000 ganker and riposte-instagibbing him on his first attack. God, it feels good.
hornet ring is hilarious "ahaha fucker that riposte did like no damaWHAT"
hornet ring is hilarious "ahaha fucker that riposte did like no damaWHAT"
It's even better when you invade low levels with a hornet ring dark hand. Those ripostes, holy shit.
hornet ring is hilarious "ahaha fucker that riposte did like no damaWHAT"
the 2-stage animation gives you a nice pause to see how much damage you do. It's like opening a chest in a legend of zelda game. "Riposte...up for 5 damage...down for 1100!" Also hornet backstabs throw the victim at least twice as far when you kick them off your sword, great for sending hackers to their death. [editline]14th March 2013[/editline]
It's even better when you invade low levels with a hornet ring dark hand. Those ripostes, holy shit.
How about hornet ring dragon fists riposte? [sp]At SL15 in the depths[/sp] [img_thumb]http://i.imgur.com/K8xaXi7.jpg[/img_thumb] I'm a terrible person.
Listening to the Maiden Astraea Theme really makes me want to go find my Demon's Souls disc.
Listening to the Maiden Astraea Theme really makes me want to go find my Demon's Souls disc.
Astraea's theme? Surely you mean ha haha ha!
So the hornet ring also affects ripostes? No wonder you were one-shotting me with that.
[img_thumb]http://i.imgur.com/K8xaXi7.jpg[/img_thumb] I'm a terrible person.
I'd almost assume that would be me, I went AFK at the bonfire yesterday right after turning human at SL30. But I wield a wooden shield and uchigatana.
So the hornet ring also affects ripostes? No wonder you were one-shotting me with that.
It affects all crits. My personal favorite thing to do with it is riposte people with a lightning rapier in Anor Londo. Does well over 1500 damage if they have no armor on.
I was thinking of making a "glass cannon" build, but maxing dexterity, getting a dagger that does the most crit damage + hornet ring, and then go around trying to parry people. Maybe add Crystal Magic Weapon to the list for overkill.
Oh my god Knight Artorias was a douche to kill! I used Blood shield and +14 longsword with a light melee pyromancer hybrid build, the backflip ring and then soloed the fucker! i had to retry around 30 times but later i killed Manus with one try. Oh and i haven't played DS in like 6 months.
So I'm making my first dex/int build (first time using either stat, too) and I'm wondering how do catalysts work What's the best, what should I look out for etc. I keep reading about "magic adjust" but I have no idea how that works

Magic adjust works the same as upgrading your pyromancy flame in that higher numbers mean more damage. The numbers in bold are the Int value at which they are the best, Oolacile is best until 27 Int at which point it's shared between Sorcerer's, Beatrice's and Izalith, and at 41 Int Logan's becomes the best. Tin Darkmoon scales with Faith, Tin Crystallization halves your castings but has best magic adjustment, and Manus scales dark sorceries with strength for an extra bit of power in your Pursuers. Also getting Dex up to 40 is the max advantage you get from it in casting speed, maybe put Int up to 45 as Logan's scaling is good up to there.

I assume using a +15 weapon (at 40 dex) with sorcery buffs would be best until I run out of buff, then switch to Magic +10 weapon? It looks to me that on a dex/int build Magic +10 will have better benefits than Enhanced +5.
Ahahaha, just invaded a guy called "The Horseman" who was wearing chester's coat, wielding a hand axe and skull lantern...and had no head. Amazing.
I invaded that guy a few times too Skull Lantern is surprisingly effective as a shield
Thanks, now I kinda get it. I assume using a +15 weapon (at 40 dex) with sorcery buffs would be best until I run out of buff, then switch to Magic +10 weapon? It looks to me that on a dex/int build Magic +10 will have better benefits than Enhanced +5.
Given that Crystal magic weapon has a pretty standard damage increase of 1.4x Magic adjust, at 45 Int with Logan's you'll get an extra 327 magic damage. Although while I would try to stack the magic damage from them, according to the wiki it only works on normal, raw and crystal weapons so yeah, go for that. Enchanted is an odd upgrade because the only difference is lower base damage but higher scaling, and it's so minuscule that there's only a few weapons that actually reach the point of intersection at a reasonable Int value. If the planner says Magic +10 is better, believe it.
I never get invaded in Anor Londo yet I invade fine, probably something to do with using CE to lower my level
I never get invaded in Anor Londo yet I invade fine, probably something to do with using CE to lower my level
Or maybe you killed Ornstein and Smough.
So, where is everyone doing PvP these days (PC)? Oolacile?
So, where is everyone doing PvP these days (PC)? Oolacile?
high-level PVP (SL100 usually) is in Oolacile, yeah. Pretty much everything else is in Anor Londo.
Or maybe you killed Ornstein and Smough.
I forgot that stopped invasions :v: Anor Londo is just an overall nice pvp area, everything's set in stone in terms of builds (nothing complex) and there's good fighting areas, plus you get to fight people with summons.
Great club is best club.
Man, I just can't get over how amazing Great Magic Barrier is. Fought a guy who was using Moonlight Greatsword. I think he might have done more damage with his fists.

The two seconds it takes to cast is hardly worth it [editline]15th March 2013[/editline] Oh wait I'm thinking of the sorceries, nevermind
Great club is best club.
You wouldn't happen to use it in Anor Londo as a Dad, helping as a summon, would you?
