i like pc because i can at least cheat in 99 of each titanite instead of having to grind for hardstone all the time god damn
lord knows that's right. spent like 1½ hour grinding sharpstone from the phalanxes in 1-2.. now i need sharpstone chunks too.
That sounds about right. Summoning people for O&S was like pulling teeth, glad I got good enough to do it with just Solaire.
Oh god I had to solo them for the first time yesterday. SL10, building casual co-op character to play while listening to audiobooks/podcasts. wanting ability to warp. Make it through Londo Land and summon Solaire. Run past Royal Sentinels and slip through fog gate. Fight starts. Where's Solaire? Shit. Shit. shitshitshitshitSOLAIRE. Dude never shows up and I end up dancing with Ornstein for 20 minutes desperately trying to make sure every Great Combustion hits. Poke him down with Estoc and dazzle Smough with my moves. Solaire fuckin hit the bricks and left me with two beefed up bosses. Adherent to the Lord of Diarrhea. I used to love you man.
Started playing Dark Souls yesterday as a Hunter (beated the Asylum Demon in one go). Though I gave myself a challenge... playing with a keyboard (it's not that bad if you set up your keys correctly). Also what is a good build for being a Hunter? Oh and should I stay undead?
The starting class doesn't matter that much, you upgrade vitality for HP, attunement for the number of spell slots, endurance for stamina and equipment load, strength and dexterity are for weapon attack power, intelligence and faith are for sorcery and magic, and resistance is something you do not upgrade! And yeah you should stay undead if you don't want other players invading you, the only time you'll have to go human is when you want to kindle a bonfire or fight a certain NPC.

You can use your Divine Bow for sniping skeletons. Also, get 999 Heavy Arrows and Feather Arrows. Use Heavy Arrows on bosses and stronger enemies, and Feather Arrows for sniping people (like the Painting Guardians in Anor Londo). Bow users can be super cheap against PvE.
http://mmdks.com/1hcy nazgul build. Planning on hosting in Anor Londo with this, though the lightning BSS is probably inferior to a +15. Never done an offhand weapon thing before, should be interesting Just realized the Dark Silver's toxic buildup is unique to its strong attack. Might swap for Priscilla's.
You don't want need or want 25 dex for a lightning weapon. Put some points into endurance, maybe swap out the wolf ring for a havels to give you a nice fast roll. You don't need 79 poise. The dark silver tracer alone isn't worth wasting 10 levels on dex. Here, I fixed it up a little bit, tell me what you think: http://mmdks.com/1hgy You can replace that dark hand with whatever dagger you want, but I don't think its worth 25 dex to not use a +15 swag sword.
I'm really missing being able to use a Bow, those bloody Crystal Lizards are everywhere in The Great Hollow and i want to kill all of them. But some of them are just awkward as hell to get to before they disappear. Ahhhhh the joys of being a level 1 pyromancer.
http://maskofthefather.com/
Amazing. Would be even better if it was a giant dad.
http://maskofthefather.com/
This is a glimpse to the past of the life of the Father, When he was a young bachelor before he met his wife and became Giant Dad and settled down to have kids. A few years later... He becomes irritated at the amount of casul's that are invading Lordran, so he crafts the most ultimate weapon of the land and becomes the hero that Lordran deserves, but not the one it needs right now. As he is a loud guardian, a indicted protector. A giant knight. Well! What is it!
I just got a really strange glitch where I put down my summon sign (White Sign, I'm %100 positive) outside of the church and I got the "You are being summoned" message. I spawned into the world as a red phantom and it said "You invaded the world of XXX". I found the guy and fought him and then sent him a message about it. He told me yes, he did touch my gold sign and I came out as a red phantom. I wish I knew what caused this 'cause it would make for some good trolling.
It seems to happen from time to time. It isn't just the white stone that does it. I've invaded people as a white phantom before. It was kind of awkward to invade a guy for the 4th time after being a huge dick to him 3 previous times, only to pop in as a white phantom. I helped him kill O&S though.
Started playing Dark Souls yesterday as a Hunter (beated the Asylum Demon in one go). Though I gave myself a challenge... playing with a keyboard (it's not that bad if you set up your keys correctly). Also what is a good build for being a Hunter? Oh and should I stay undead?
Benefits of being undead: 1. You can't be invaded (by either other players or NPCs) 2. You can't lose human form if you die, since you are already dead Benefits of being human: 1. You can kindle bonfires (spend 1 soft humanity [the counter near your health] to increase the amount of estus flasks you get from that bonfire when you rest at it for the duration of the game) 2. You can summon NPCs/other players to help out on boss fights in areas you've not beaten yet (co-op). 3. You don't look like a zombie 4. You can invade other players (darkmoon invaders tho can do this in both human/undead form) 5. Almost all of the NPC invaders will drop unique weapons/armor or have unique armor spawn in the arena of the area boss you get invaded in. So it's a good way to get a specific suit of armor that you can't get otherwise and such. The only thing to keep in mind about leveling, is to never level up resistances. Everything else is pretty useful. Pay attention to your weapon's ratings too (the letters in the inventory near the strength/dex/faith/mag icons for a weapon you select). These determine how much that weapon scales with your stats. So if a weapon has an E rating in strength and an S rating in dex, you damage output is increased by a lot if you have high dex, but hardly at all if you have high strength. The scale goes from S-to-E with S being the best, A being second, B being third, etc. The amount that weapon is being boosted from your stats is the blue number next to the damage (or red, if its being reduced, which happens if you don't have high enough base stats to use it). Weapon scaling is why certain weapons are really bad while others are really good. I.E. the infamous "drake sword" is a terrible weapon, despite it being very high in base damage (200, which is a lot early game where you can find it), because it has no weapon scaling - it will always be 200 damage no matter what your stats are. Certain upgrade paths (like raw) remove scaling on your weapon as well, or seriously reduce it in favor of something else (like lightning damage). (speaking of upgrades, its generally better to upgrade your equipment than to level up, since weapon/armor upgrades will have a more direct impact on your performance. Also, when you fully upgrade a weapon it often increases the scaling of that weapon as well, which further boosts damage if you have a high skill level in the primary skill for that weapon. Leveling up is still really important though, so if you can't upgrade any more at the point of where you are in the game then that's when spending a buncho souls to level up works good).
Kinda curious if a Hunter is also good with swords. Since aiming a bow with a mouse is difficult and also enemies have a very good hitbox so you have to be a good shot.

but how cool was it the first time you were in tower of latria and tried getting summoned/invading someone and instead you were summoned as the old monk
http://maskofthefather.com/
No Giant's, no wub wub, 0/10 would not indict. Anyone got a link to the GiantDad build? I tend to use the DadMask even if I don't need it. Adds more character to your character than the character's actual face.
The infamous Chaoshander Giantdad build is as follows: Bandit, SL99 48 Vitality 66 ENDURANCE 12 Attunement 16 FUCKIN' STRENGTH 10 dexterity (don't tell anyone) giant's, Giant's, GIANT's Father Mask Havel's Ring Ring of Favor and Protection Black flame, Black flame DON'T FUCKIN FORGET Chaos Zweihander +5 Grass Crest Shield
Str/dex is really that low? I always thought it was really high.
It's a chaos zweihander that you're supposed to two hand, you don't need stats.
Str/dex is really that low? I always thought it was really high.
chaos weapons don't scale with anything except humanity, great for minmaxing
Str/dex is really that low? I always thought it was really high.
the whole point of giantdaddying (or minmaxing in general for that matter) is to use the bare minimum stats for the weapon and make it elemental for the highest possible damage in this case it's just enough to be able to two-hand a zweihander and at chaos +5 it does a fuckton of damage anyway
Great Hollow, SL1 and Cursed was not my idea of fun. I should had planned that much better than i should have. Quelaag and Ceaseless Discharge are taken care of now without any issues. Armor is nearly already maxed out, Pyro Flame is nearly Ascended. Everything is looking good again. Now for Sen's Funhouse once i get the second Posion Mist. The funny thing (and most annoying thing) about Giants Armor is that it's lighter than all the other Heavy Armors. Making it easier to fast roll with less points on endurance. Of course, All the other heavy armors are made out of Stone. But once upgraded, you could say that Giants is the best.
This got recently added to xbox on demand and I feel the need to pick it up. Am I going to destroy my controller with rage (like I've heard this game to cause) or what?
Are you prone to outbursts of rage in which you lash out physically and case potential damage to nearby objects/people? If so, you might, unless you get a grip on how to play, learn from your mistakes, and become desensitized to the thought of losing things of value such as progress, experience, and etc.

Am I going to destroy my controller with rage (like I've heard this game to cause) or what?
You will have the odd moment of "WHAT THE FUCK?!" rage, chances are your going to suffer through the game really slowly during your first playthrough. If your willing to learn and adapt and give the game a chance (not throwing it after 30 minutes because you keep getting killed at the first boss or some minions), you'll be fine. Its somehow more calming than playing a competitive game like Call of Duty, that's for sure. There are much more ragefull games out there than Dark Souls. I mean, I'm sure DOTA 2 was designed just to piss you off and ruin friendships.
