...Oh...
I take that back now. Light is good.
Is there a way to remove the glow emanating from your character? It's helpful in dark areas, but where's the fun in that?
The game is actually really dark without it, can't see shit in normal Anor Londo without it.
What SL would people recommend for Anor Londo Co-op? Thought this would be one of the better ways to get some Sunlight Medals, and some good souls.

55 seems to be good. It's a tad bit high, but with the summon-level range you can be summoned from level 40-70 or so.
apparently i got sinned on my sorcerer character when starting ng++ by hearing that elite knight die in the undead asylum then running back to see it.
i got 100 souls out of it tho
Anyway to repair a weapon that you used CE to get? It's broken and it's not actually in my inventory so I can't use a repair box.
Turns out I used the overwrite thingy for my weapon so I have a +2 lifehunt scythe in my inventory but it shows up as +5 and that's killing my OCD, is there a way to actually make it +5?
why not just upgrade it to +5
It's a character I'm making just for dueling with friends so I didn't feel like having to farm everything all over just for a few duels.
[editline]20th March 2013[/editline]
Damnit, my avelyn is also using the "overwrite" thingymajig so I can't upgrade it.
Is there a way to just get one physically without having to go get it? I just want to quickly create characters and fun builds to duel friends with without having to go through the entire game every single time.
What overwrite thing are you doing? Are you editing your equipment slots, or the item in your inventory? I never had issues with the inventory thing but I hear editing what you have equipped is glitchy as hell
What overwrite thing are you doing? Are you editing your equipment slots, or the item in your inventory? I never had issues with the inventory thing but I hear editing what you have equipped is glitchy as hell
Overwriting the equipped items, basically it gives me a non-existent version of the weapon, like my Avelyn was in the equipment slot but I had none in my inventory, like my lifehunt scythe, said I had my +2 unequipped in my inventory and the +5 equipped but the +5 wasn't actually in my inventory, I didn't find it as glitchy as much as it's just annoying as hell.
How do I edit my equipment slots exactly? I'm using the table and overwriting is all there seem to really be and I'm bad at all this shit.
You could search for a weapon like a generic longsword with the item ID list, then change the ID into something else and voila you have a new weapon that's in your inventory and all
I feel like a Cheat Engine buildmaking tutorial is in order. (This'll be partially based on a more general tutorial found here: http://forum.cheatengine.org/viewtopic.php?t=556500&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=435)
First, here's the ID table.
https://docs.google.com/file/d/0BxD4Wr-__KXlay1SY2NuZXFIbU0/edit?usp=sharing
In addition to this, you'll need a trainer to modify the number of souls you're carrying. I use a Cheat Engine script, though I'm having difficulty tracking down where I got it from. Other people in the thread have made mention of a trainer, that'll probably do.
As an example of how to use this, here's a walkthrough in which we turn a bandit (http://mmdks.com/1iyg) into the Chaoshander Giantdad (http://mmdks.com/1iu1) before reaching the Undead Parish.
1. In Character creation, obviously choose the bandit class and the Master Key.
2. Once you take control in the Asylum, strip to nothing. Open up Cheat Engine and have it running the DATA.exe.
3. Do a hexidecimal search for the Brigand Hood's ID (C350) in Cheat engine (check the 'hex' box next to the value entry box)
4.Once the search is completed, go back into Dark Souls and drop the hood on the ground.
5.Return to the CE window. Looking through the addresses that came up with the first search, one near the top of the list should have had its value change to "FFFFFF". Right click that address and add it to your table (At the bottom of the CE window).
6.Pick the hood back up. When you return to CE the value should have changed back to C350. If it didn't, delete the record you had added to your table and repeat steps 3-5 with a new search.
7. Now that we know the location of this particular item, we're free to change it to anything else we'd like-but, for the sake of simplicity, we'll stick to a 1:1 conversion. Find the Mask of the Father in the ID Spreadsheet (It should be 900B0) Now, double click on the ID on your table, and change it to 900B0. Your Brigand hood is now a father mask, you casul. Because the Father Mask can't be upgraded, we can move on to the rest of your armor.
8. Repeat steps 3-7 for the Brigand Armor (C738), turning it into the Giant Armor (81A38). The Giant Armor can be upgraded, and if we want to do PVP it's a good idea to go ahead and fully upgrade it. Right click its ID in the table and click "Show as Decimal". Another ID should pop up. Because the Giant set upgrades with Twinkling Titanite, it's fully upgraded at +5. change the last digit of the ID to 5. Voila, Giant's Armor +5 is ready to wear.*
9.Repeat steps 3-8 to turn the Brigand Gauntlets (CB20) into Giant Gauntlets (8E120) and the Brigand Trousers (CF08) into the Giant Leggings (82208), upgrading them all to +5 as you go.
10. Your armor is fully upgraded now. Enjoy Fatrolling through the Undead Asylum.
11. Once you've proven that YOU SO BEST, unequip your Battle Axe and Spider Shield.
12. Perform steps 3-7 for your Battle Axe (AB248) to turn it into a Zweihander (55730). We're going to be making this into a Chaos Zweihander, which means we need to make an extra modification to the Decimal Value.
13. Click 'show as Decimal', and modify the last three zeros to read '905'. the '9' represents the upgrade path, the '05' represents the upgrade level.**
14. Perform steps 3-8 to turn the Spider Shield (164EF0) into the Grass Crest Shield (162BC8). It's also a Twinkling upgrade, so make it +5.***
15. Pyro flame time. We'll use the Straight Sword Hilt (33C20) as our starting item. perform steps 3-7 on the Straight Sword Hilt to turn it into an Ascended Pyromancy Flame (145320)
16. The Ascended Flame upgrades in a unique way. click Show as Decimal, then change the last three zeros to "500". Each value of 100 you add to the decimal is a level in the upgrade, to the maximum of 500 for the Ascended flame and 1500 for the regular flame.
17.Your basic equipment is set up. Do the Overencumbered mosey on over to the Crow Cutscene trigger.
18. Once you arrive at Firelink, use the trainer to give you enough souls to level up to SL99 (48 vit/66 end/12 att/16 FUCKIN str/10 Dex/0 Res)
19. It's likely some or all of your equipment is broken as a result of differences in weapon durability. Go see Rickert in the New Londo Ruins to repair it.
20. Now we actually get to play some Dark Souls. Kill your way through the Undead Burg with your hilariously overleveled MLG build
20. Go to the undead merchant and purchase two firebombs. We'll be turning these into Black Flame.****
21. repeat steps 3-7 with the firebombs (000124), making sure to Drop BOTH of them. Note that these more generic IDs require some scrolling in order to find the correct string of F's. You'll be turning them into Black Flame, which reveals an interesting quirk in the ID Spreadsheet.
22. For whatever reason, the Hex IDs of DLC items aren't cataloged. That means you'll need to show the firebomb IDs as decimals before changing them to the Black Flame ID (4530).
23. Voila, two Black Flame slots. Go own the Black Knight guarding the Blue Tearstone Ring (93) and pick it up.
24. No one uses this piece of Catarina trash. Let's turn it into the Ring of Favor and Protection (8F). Repeat steps 3-7 again.
25. Bravo, We're almost done. Equip the RoFAP and Never. Take. It. Off. This next bit doesn't even require CE.
26. Go kill Havel. Don't be intimidated, THE LEGEND NEVER DIES. Pick up his ring, equip it. Your build is now complete.
*Armors that upgrade normally go to +10. simply change the last two zeros to 10.
**the ID spreadsheet's last page lists the variables for upgrade paths. the default is 0 for +15 (or +5 for twinkling/Dragon scale/Demon Titanite weapons) Remember that the item path variable is the third from the last decimal (Lightning +5, for instance, is 205, not 025)
***Shields follow the same rule as weapons, but you'll almost always want to +15 them/+5 them, unless you want a Warrior's Round Magic Shield.
**** Any item you can equip to the hotbar can be turned into a spell. However many are in the stack you drop is the number of slots of the spell you'll receive.

The table can do that: http://puu.sh/2f5uo (save as)
You also don't need to run anywhere, really. You can change your last bonfire rested at with the table too. (http://puu.sh/2fHar bonfire IDs, ignore the pointer bit)
After months away, and discovering that the cheat engine wave of hateful PvP has joyously come to an end (but the ease of fun-gimmicks has sadly also come to an end,) I decided to go and ruin peoples experience.
But alas, Fat Official called to me. Returning from Demon's Souls, Fatty McFat shall laugh at people for an eternity.

and then you got backstabbed by a needlessly long sword by surprise
After wrestling with summoning for the better part of an hour I finally got a chance to play with my friend for the first time. Good fun, helped him get through some of the bosses he was having trouble with. Jolly cooperation all round, well, until some over leveled asshole joined and ruined everything. Still hate that.
I wish there was a better way to play with friends instead of constantly replacing my summoning sign every ten seconds.
4 Kings down as a SL1.
It turns out that wearing armor does help more instead of trying to dodge everything at fast roll, even as a SL1.
Edit: Not again... Why do i get myself in this predicament?

All right guys, sorry for the delay.
Here is the FINAL update for the tournament:
Location: Moonlight Butterfly Forest
Platforms: PC and XBOX 360
SL: 100
Time and Date: 30th of March (easter), begins at noon GMT-4 (EST)
Unless we have a lot of people who won't be able to get on, this is how it's going to work.
On that day, all who want to should join the steam group chat so we can get things worked out. People can decide if they want to host fight clubs or seperate duels, but either way this chat will help get people summoned.
Also, co-oping (NOT ganking) with a friend is a lot of fun.
I'm so happy I have a bunch of legit characters. My 3 giantdad characters at SL 50, 99 and 120 have come in so useful.
what do you even put the extra 21 points into as a level 120 giantdad
[editline]20th March 2013[/editline]
vitality is really the only useful option unless you really wanna use black flame or something
who does 120 giantdad
I wish there was a better way to play with friends instead of constantly replacing my summoning sign every ten seconds.
Replacing it is what not to do. Something I've read about and observed through trying to co-op with a friend is that the longer you have spent on your current session, the easier is to summon or be summoned. It's something to do with you joining a 'pool' of IPs over time that can connect to each other, and having your sign down cycles through those IPs whereas replacing it too often doesn't give you a chance to be matched together.
In my experience it is most apparent on my Darkwraith character. I'll load in, attempt to invade for a few minutes then suddenly get a match. After the first invasion, it is markedly easier to invade again.
I have accidently hit the merchant in the sewers that sells the crystal equipment. Am I screwed?
Go absolve your sin with Oswald in the church towers. Don't kill the NPC if you want his shit later.

8 into strength so that you're not locked into twohanding the Zwei, the rest into vitality, though Zinayzen has a point
who does 120 giantdad
People who do SL120 PvP?
who does 120pvp though
