Hey guys I know this may seem a bit crazy but I met MacSquirrely IRL awhile back, and he is quite a reliable source (working for PC Gamer and all). He said that Valve had already finished Half-Life 2: Episode 3 prior to xmas last year, and were planning to release it for free on Steam as a surprise to prove to they're PC fans that they haven't become "console fags" and haven't forgotten the audience that made them the company they are today. He also said that Episode 3 will definitely be released before Portal 2 (and if so it's cutting it close). I'm starting to believe due to Episode 2 and various other things that Episode 3 is heavily tied with Portal 2 and therefore this is what will be released when the countdown reaches zero.
