I have the potato sack (goign through and launching every game now)
How easy would getting all 36 potatoes be? Is it a significant time investment, or just knowing what to do?
Its both

?
WE DO NOT NEED ANY MORE POTATOES
We just need as many people as possible in one of the potato sack games
so this was just one long drink your ovaltine bullshit advert for portal 2? All this effort so we can get portal 2 three days early?
what the fuck valve
I think I know how this is working. Each bar filled for the games will knock off around 7 hours of time. If we put all of our players on one game each as a group effort, we'll fill the bar faster and in turn come closer. We cannot be divided up. It's not helping. Everyone focus on one game.
Wait, does this mean that we have to have 1.3 million gamers playingsimultaneously?
Nevermind, I just noticed that all those CPU lines don't have the same requirements, but audiosurf definitely needs 100000 players.
Suddenly, the amount of people playing those games rises tenfold.
I think we'll be over with this in a day, the progress bar is already at like 2%
This whole "buy the potato sack so you get P2 1 hour earlier" is just stupid.
I preordered P2 back in February and won't give a flying fuck about the game being released a few hours earlier than expected. I was happy enough with that vague release date of "April 2011" they gave to us.
This whole ARG turned out to be pointless.
I'm guessing the total players who own the game is what the bar goes up to. Killing Floor being a popular game has moved a very small amount despite having the most current CPUs.

or you can just wait 4 days and not be forced to play bad indie games
We need to decide on a game and get all of FP on it at the same time. That will fill it a lot faster and if we go down the list in such a fashion, we'll remedy this release by a fair amount.
So they want us to buy the potato pack (33,72€) to launch portal 2 (34,19€) 4 days earlier. I think I can wait for the official release.
Okay, counter is already decreased by 3 hours. We are getting Portal 2 by tomorrow if we keep it on this way.
Finally I got some motivation to finish Amnesia, and perhaps play some more Super Meat Boy.

They're not all bad and you don't even have to play them. Just idle.
Its both
Roughly how many hours we talking? From never playing the game, to being able to get all 36?

1 hour = 4 days?
I don't keep up with this thread AT ALL but the ARG is down.
Have we discovered playing reconstructing science changes the track to "The device has been modified v2 [as-portal]"?
or you can just wait 4 days and not be forced to play bad indie games
I agree with you, but those games ain't bad.

They had to launch this page when pre-load started.

I'm going to Italy for a week on Monday so it would be grand for me if it gets released tomorrow.
The graphs aren't actually moving and aren't related to the number of people playing it looks like.
What happened to the wiki? I want to know how to get potatoes in Killinf Floor, Super Meat Boy and The Ball, so I have something to do.

I say Killing Floor, it seems like most people have that out of all of them...
I think we should all focus on a game like Audiosurf, since it's not intensive at all so everyone can just let it run in the background.
We just need to concentrate all of our efforts into getting more people playing The Wonderful End of the World. Go to the Store page, ook at the list of your friends who own the game and convince them to run it.

Audiosurf has 6 times the players and a 1/3rd of the bar filled compared to TWEOTW.

Number of players playing Portal 2.
Blog Update: Don't need any more potatoes
What does that mean? From now until release, play any or all of the Potato Sack games to expedite the launch of Portal 2. Your efforts will be tracked on the official GLaDOS@home page.

There's also still time to collect all 36 potatoes. Anyone accomplishing this feat by the time Portal 2 launches will receive a very special, non-hat-based reward.
Probably late, but this should end up on a clean page anyway.

I think it's going rather slow
