That or there was a very important thing/person on the Borealis. Now, imagine the Borealis, being filled with crazy Aperture Science (AS) Tech right? Then, we find whatever "it" is that was so precious to AS that they will never stop broadcasting that frequency so technologically encrypt into their own frequencies no one, not even the Combine, have found out about it. I'm starting to think that AS was a laboratory that was into some very very bad things.

By encrypted, I mean, no one can get the frequency what so ever, but, it's there, and running.
