NO NEW HEROES EVERYONE GO HOME.

Just 6.77C parity, some visual changes, bug fixes, bot fixes.
I saw someone get it on him before and they stomped with it, so I tried it and it works well. The mana regen is useful so I can keep spamming my abilities (I wombo combo'd Weaver with a Torrent + Ghost Ship) and I don't have to run back to fountain after a single teamfight or encounter. HP regen is alright, not as good as Heart but I had to get something since it was heat of the situation moment. The hp bonus just makes me more tankier.
Or you can get a Battle Fury instead, so you can farm and damage more. Kunkka's main strength is huge damage on his Tidebringer, not being tanky.

....
why not buy a useful regen item that gives you offensive power(battlefury)?
Looks like the Tranquil Boots have been both buffed and nerfed at the same time for that patch. The increase to health regain is good, since 170 didn't feel all that helpful, but the reduced speed bonus when the Boots break does make it a fair bit risky to consider these in one's build, since technically the Break would inflict a slow in that regard. Wouldn't be too bad for Heroes with a good Escape, since they could technically get the hell outta there and wait for their Boots to mend, but for non-escapes it just seems a wee bit too dangerous to include in one's build.
Speaking of Tranq Boots and item builds, are they a valid option for Lion or are his default recommendeds incorrect in that regard?

The healing change is both a buff and a nerf.
For supports, it's a buff because it increases the healing.
For carries, it's a nerf because if they're is an enemy hero around they have to stay back for double the time or they run the chance of wasting the heal.
The breaking boot nerf is pretty bad, since some heroes (axe, centaur) rely on the big movement speed to chase down their opponents.
Tranquil boots are perfectly fine on lion.
I hate people:downs:

A KotL and Nyx nerf. I won't mind.
Do these people genuinely believe that Dota 2 is a "dead" game because there's no new heroe?
Wasn't Hobbax a vicious leaver from FP?
Or am I thinking of Fobaz?
It surprises me how careless some people are when rubick is around, and how they put zero effort on not getting their best spells stolen

you realize that strategy games have one of the worst online communities to ever exist
and that assfags took the absolute worst section of that community and concentrated it within a single point and made it even worse
that's why playdota and the dota 2 dev board are so god awful
but it's cool that the actual devs post there so

Like in the GEST grand finals, Luna used Eclipse, 3 minutes later Rubick trots along and steals it.
Sometimes even pros forget that it's best to burn a useless spell after the big one when against a Rubick.

uhhh of course?
still doesn't change anything to me though. the rest of the dev forum is p. ok though imo
I highly doubt it, but there's no way of playing older client versions of Dota 2 right? Just curious to see how some of the heroes played before, and older looks.

I'm just pointing out that it only makes sense that nearly any Dota related forum is going to be god-awful. The rest of the dev forum is decent because it actually relates to the development of the game, as opposed to... well, whatever playdota is.

No, but you can download old versions of WC3 Dota, however.

Playing the old dota after playing dota 2 felt like a chore because of how different the graphics felt.
I honestly prefer bug fixes and patches over new heroes
A working game > a buggy game with loads of content tbh
I want new heroes, but tbh im okay with bug fixes as well.

The loud combat sounds of the lane creeps bothered me.
Or you can get a Battle Fury instead, so you can farm and damage more. We had Sven, Tidehunter, but they died as soon as they got a kill. That and I like spamming my spells and shadowblade. With just bfury you wouldn't get as much mana regen as you would a bloodstone thanks to all the extra regen from kills.

you could theoretically have backups of each version and play them that way. someone did it with TF2 last year, compared it with 2009 tf2.

You have no use for THAT much mana regen on a Kunkka. Your spells aren't as spammable as most others, and you need as much damage as you can get.

I came to the conclusion that everytime you say that the hero ports get delayed even further :v.
You have no use for THAT much mana regen on a Kunkka. Your spells aren't as spammable as most others, and you need as much damage as you can get.
'Ctually, Kunkka's spells are very much spammable and if someone is confident with their use, some form of mana regen is well worth it.
12 second CD on Torrent, but 1500 range for AoE disable/nuke. You could theoretically harass with it, as well as initiate, hell, farm over distance/cliffs even.
X-Marks the spot is very powerful displacement/control tool with just 16 sec CD. Disruptor's Glimpse comparably can have at best 30 sec CD.
Ghost-boat lvl3 has surprising 40 sec CD for high-ranged ultimate with ally-buff component as well as AoE Stun/500nuke. 40 seconds is very little for an ultimate like that, it's hard to aim, sure, but given it's double-purpose you can use it to save people, initiate, gank, cover retreat, etc, without worry of it being unavailiable in nearby important encounter.
So a quickly-leveled Kunkka can really dominate the game by constant Ship/Torrent comboes, being chore to kill with Rum buff, fucking with everyone's efforts to run away/position properly with X Marks, harass/nuke/snipe/etc with Torrent, not to mention Tidebringer!
Though, in such an active case, he will need some form of regen. 2-3 allies with Arcanes might cut it, but you are a carry-type hero, so you can fare on your own as well (sologanks, interceptions, saving towers, taking towers, farm) so something besides that is required if you plan on ballin' 'round.
Battlefury is cute choice, the damage, farm-booster (though not that great due to Tidebringer being there), teamfight bonus, but any good manaregen source will do.
If you want to be creative, Eul sounds interesting to combo with torrents, saving oneself, MS is neat for a position-whore like Kunkka. Bottle with rune control ain't half bad either.
An Urn, especially if gotten early. Soulring in lane I've seen work, purely to outlane with Torrent harass and later on you can use it mostly freely due to STR gain.
Vyse and Orchid don't sound like Kunkka, but first is great late-game (especially if team has multiple of them) if enemy carries are not able to be out-damaged and Rapier's too risky, while latter is a lifesaver if there is just this one-fucking caster noone can get or you seriously need silence in ganks/teamfights.
Linken's a bit too defensive for my taste, but still, considering guys like Doom and what not.
+ Of course mana-boosting allies. CM, KotL, already mentioned Arcane-bearers, Wisp, OD.

this is why you stack battlefuries and a daedalus and teamwipe
Dagon necro mmmmmmmmm soo good
Axe was talking shit from the beggining acting like some kind of superior asswhipe just because I talked to him (where do they get these guys?)
Called my build shitty and called me a noob.
End of the game? We won and I could take on alone just about anyone. Say shit about the dagon? Die by the dagon!
An urn on Kunkka is so underrated but it kicks ass hard. You get enough mana regen out of it, tankiness/damage and a salve dispenser. You should be making an impact early either way, so you'll start raking in charges from the get-go, and offensive uses are still viable.
Also when it comes to Kunkka I've found myself often getting stats over X-marks because I find with it I'll be using almost all my mana, and I like getting the extra security from more stats. If there's someone who can get really abused with it like NP/Wisp, or we have a lack of disables I'll grab it but other than that I just rely on the torrent-boat-splash combo for fights/ganks. At level 16 your initiation combo costs 445 mana with boat+torrent+shadowblade, and your mana pool at that point is around 550. Getting those 4 points in stats will give you an extra 100 mana, 150 HP and 1 armour, which Kunkka kind of lacks to be honest. His HP is really nice with his 3 str gain, so he's naturally tanky enough to all in for damage and still be in good enough shape to charge in.
