Civilization's one of the best strategy series ever created. If you like board games, or strategy games at all, you'll like Civ4.
If you like micro fast paced Korean Strategy games then you will not like Civilization.
I bought the Civ4 pack when it was first on sale. I love it.

Civ 4 gets VERY tedious towards the later years when you have about 5 bajillion different armies moving everywhere and you have soldiers being made all over the country and running to one spot. It's heavy with micromanagement and gets boring quick.
