What's with the force leaving of aircraft in x amount of seconds?
A lot of the time it's when I have a dead engine and can glide the plane to a landing to repair, but nope force eject.
You have to use rockets or cannons iirc.
Does anybody else notice that bullets leave specific decals on your craft in single player?

shame it doesnt show up in multiplayer
If memory serves, I think getting shot by the enemy in MP does create bullet holes.
I remember trying to land my Bf 109 that was full of holes a few days ago.
But I could be wrong.

They need to fix this shit. I've had to abandon perfectly flyable planes far too often.
good god im getting pissed at this game, yet i like it.
I either meet a hayabusa airplane that apparently can turn on a dime and has the durabilty of a fucking battleship or i engage in a firefight just to see my friends leave me, or crash into me.
Does the mission reward get added when the game ends if you leave? I noticed if I leave games once all my aircraft are dead there is no mission reward XP

Find someone to squad up with and stick together. Extremely helpful when I can rely on someone to get a plane off my ass and nets me a few free kills if someone is chasing my wingman.

thats been an issue since the closed beta. It's not as bad as it used to be though, if you got an aileron shot off or if you lost control of your rudder, it would just boot you out of your aircraft and send you back to the respawn screen. And since the games crit mechanic is/was based off dice rolls, planes with insane ROF's like spitfires would almost always instagib you. At least now you can fight back for 15 seconds or so before it kicks you out.

My friend drives a biplane and he has a tenedcy to crash into me :v:
Its probably 3x for frb since the max repair cost for my bf-109f-4 is around 6k in frb while listed is 2k.

And if you dont have someone to squad with just follow some random team mate around and help him out.
I usually follow some random person around in frb
I think I'm done flying jet rounds in my meteor f3, maybe it's just the plane I'm flying but I find jet rounds pretty boring. Its just boom & zoom, paired with longer "idle" times as jets spend much more time making approaches than actually dog-fighting. Maybe its different in the MIG-15 as it doesn't turn like a bus compared to the Meteor.
On the other-hand I unlocked the Hien and I find that a blast to fly, I've never flown a plane so maneuverable in this game. I've found myself playing more and more rounds with the low level Japanese planes than the boring British jets.
oh god the lag

How long did it take you to get a Jet?
I've been playing for a while now with little progress only level 8

near a hundred hours I'd say, I wouldn't worry about your lack of progress. Really if you ask me, Jets aren't more fun than the other planes anyways.

Low tier jet isnt the same as a high tier jet
Low tier jet isnt the same as a high tier jet
I am keeping this in mind, but how much better could the f4 possibly be? Even then, its still mostly boom and zoom isn't it?
not really it's more like you attack them, go straight up, rinse and repeat
[editline]10th March 2013[/editline]
i mean it's not like you're going to be turn fighting them, that would be dumb
my mistake, calling it boom and zoom is the wrong word. Jet combat is what you summed it up to be, personally I find that pretty boring. Perhaps it would be more fun in a higher level jet but I like getting up close and personal with my enemy.
Just reached rank 7 with Britain but I have to head out, what can I expect with the Typhoon when I get back?
Still new to the game and I'm wondering what's the point of ramming someone? Does it offer some kind of bonus?

It makes you worse than hitler
Also, no benefit and its a 50/50 chance you will get rewarded for the kills. Generally a tactic used by desperate scrubs when their team is losing
Argh, forgot to screenshot it, but I just managed to get 27 ground targets and 1 biplane kill in my HE-111 H-3, without dying the entire match. According to the summary I was at 97% damage, but the plane was still handling almost fresh.
[editline]10th March 2013[/editline]
Wow, after being shot down in all of my other planes, I managed to somehow become an ace in my Stuka while blowing up a battleship and several other ground targets.
I absolutely love the Hien, it's incredibly nimble and the machine guns are surprisingly powerful. Best of all its very exciting to fly, I leveled the wrong tree.

It can be rather funny to see how mad people get about it though. That's not to say I do it intentionally, I just don't apologize when people start raging about it in chat.
So why is there so much hate on the Yak-9t? I'm close to unlocking it and I'm just wondering.

From the stats it appears to be historically accurate if il-2 1946 is anything to go by.
But many times the stats shown on the info page in warthunder are wrong.
Wish the SBD had torpedoes.

It overperforms a bit (in Arcade at least).
Indeed, its 37mm cannon can historically take out planes in one hit, however WT is disregarding the fact that there was extremely heavy recoil on the cannon that only allowed pilots to fire in 2-3 shot bursts. Any longer in firing and you would've fucked up your own engine. It's fine for use in HB and FRB, but really annoying in Arcade since you can reload the cannon while flying.

But it's a dive bomber. Just wait until the Devastator comes out or use the Avenger/Catalina.
