Its up-down movement is horribly slow, making it useless as anything other than bomber hunter.
I hate African canyon. Why is it picked so much?
African Canyon is my favorite by far.
How does damage to one wing somehow take out all aileron capability?
How does damage to one wing somehow take out all aileron capability?
Realistically the cable that moves the control surface would have to be severed to lose both ailerons, unless it uses two sets of cables and pulleys, one for each wing, which I think is rare but actually seems like a good idea for the redundancy of it.
African canyon pretty much takes up 40% of the games i play. There's also a map in the pacific with two airfields... I find that one dull. Then there's a ground assault one with a town between a sea and some rivers. Those maps take the other 50%, leaving only a 10% chance for a new map
I don't even know how many maps there are. I've played.. about three others.
I Prefer clusterfucks of planes dogfighting above flat land than trying to avoid Hayabusas between cliffs. Flying through AA makes me feel like a bit of a badass too.

I keep taking very little damage but losing all control capability because one of my wings becomes tinged pink
It's bullshit as hell
I dunno, it's actually rare for me to lose my control surfaces lately, instead I just get major components breaking off entirely haha
What's the deal with the P-39? It seems to reach a certain point where it just refuses to pull up anymore. It seems really sudden too.
I noticed that too, seems to be around 115-130 KIAS or so. I usually pitch for anywhere between 160-200 for climbs in it depending on how quickly I need to get up there

africa canyon is the best arcade map, i wish i got it 40% of my games
The flight models for some planes are now horribly fucked up.
Take the I153 for example, at a certain angle and speed going down it just stays like that, twitching but not turning at all.
I can drop speed to 300 and it just goes down. It keeps going after it's in water too, I got overload while in the respawn screen...
Alcohol thought it was a good idea to spend all my eagles on a shitty prem plane for a tree I never play because hey why the fuck not

If you play arcade just use KB+M before you wreck yourself
what controller setup are you guys using? ive hitched up an old joystick that i have, but i feel that its limiting my ability.
Don't bother with a joystick in arcade mode. Use a cheap 20$ logitech controller or an xbox 360 one. Or just use mouse and keyboard, theres no advantage to using a joy stick in arcade.

Always use mouse aim instead of joystick in arcade/historical battles.
No joystick user ever can out preform a mouse aim person in arcade.
Oh boy what the FUCK HOW DO ALL THESE SLOW ASS PLANES TURN FASTER THAN ME, TAKE SUSTAINED CANNON FIRE TO THE BUTT AND MANAGE TO KILL ME IN ONE BURST FUCK

Slow planes are usually better at turning. Bi-planes are especially good at turning but are ass dragging slow.
Also slower=sharper turns
[t]https://dl.dropbox.com/u/8682580/turnshits.jpg[/t]
However a higher speed means you can turn longer and win in the long run.
Planes like the bf-109 with its snappy acceleration and powerful engine can use that to their advantage to win turn fights simply because they can turn longer.
Also arcade has the issue with making the slow ass planes better but I don't have this issue in FRB. A slow hurricane/buffalo wont stand a chance against my bf-109 in frb.

I was mad and in my enraged typing wrote it wrong, by slow ass I meant slow to turn, that rank 4 A6M shouldn't out-turn a spitfire, so im clearly doing something wrong
Are they trying to promote HB with lower repair costs for less used planes? Most planes cost less in HB (some of them slightly more in FRB) than in Arcade mode. Although, the more popular planes in HB and FRB have become much costlier to repair than in Arcade.
For instance, the H6K4 costs 8370 to repair in Arcade, but 150 in HB and 260 in FRB (which is a really nice drop in price, actually). But, the Corsair (1C variant) has jumped to 56,840 in HB and 61,340 in FRB, but 9,340 in Arcade.
Historically is always meant to be double and higher in price but the rewards are much greater, so its pretty much a gamble.

By rank 4 a6m I am going to assume you mean the one with the floats. Which even with the floats it still has a bit of an advantage on every spitfire in terms of turns.
The a6m without floats has a major advantage in a turn fight with almost any plane even the spitfires/la-7s.
[sp]im basing all this off of historical values[/sp]
This is gonna take some getting used to, but so far I'm quite liking this game.

Thanks guys, I hope this makes a difference, I found it really difficult to get any kills...
messing around with low tier planes since i haven't played in a while, decided to try out my mig
turns out jets can only get into battles with eachother so it's like 4v4 with 4 ai on each team (biplanes of course). what was worse was that there was only one jet on the enemy team, the rest were like tier 14 in their nation
can russian devs do nothing right?

Its cool, every game I played yesterday had a minimum of one Me-163 in there, despite me being rank 7 in Germans. I think its because I was using the gift FW 190 I had, which I'm allowed to use despite it being rank 13 or so, and that meant the game decided to shit on me. I'll be popping it off my lists tonight, and hopefully that'll work.
There is no matchmaker yet you spergs
There is no matchmaker yet you spergs
Right, I forgot how every match I played as a rank 0 biplane was filled with jets and Corsairs and MiG's. Oh wait, they weren't.
I was in my beaufighter cruising at high speed over a furball, looked down to see if there were any bombers to dive on. Shots come up from below me. Spitfire snap turned, straight up, shoots at me and misses. Turns in behind me, and overtakes me.
I'm not sure how you climb 600 feet in 5 seconds and overtake a two-engine fighter but that is some horseshit
There is no matchmaker yet you spergs
(except there is, it's just a piece of shit since it only has a few hundred people to matchmake at a time, so it doesn't leave much room for proper balancing. )

mostly has to do with arcade mode's physics being utterly broken. It's impossible to stall out in it, so the system goes fuckin' haywire all the god damn time and causes crazy shit to happen.
I was in my JU-87, diving on a ship, throttle down to 10%, airbrake active, 80 degree dive.........175 km/h all the way down. When I noticed I was still doing under 200 km/h over half way into my dive, I throttled up and turned off the air brake and nothing happened until I pulled out of it. This game is so wonky it's not even funny.
