yeah you probably should have dived away, gained altitude, then dived on him. Or even just get him into a turn battle. JU-87's are slow, not agile in the slightest, and don't carry any firepower at all. Why you would even dogfight a dive bomber is beyond me.
In the event of an imminent overshoot you should immediately climb straight into the air until you stall and tip over and dive upon your opponent.
There is no defense against this tactic since if they try to follow you in the climb they will stall before you. This is also the best way to take out bombers since it makes their gunners unable to hit your high traverse speed and it provides you with a top down full profile view of the bomber.
Many times in FRB I will have someone try to follow me in the climb and they will go into a flat spin.

Sorry to cause argument, I was just confused (and offended I guess?) that you put legit patch complaint down to being shit.
It's a legit complaint if you have no fucking clue what you're doing in an aircraft.
I don't know what you are all talking about. I absolutely LOVE the new DM from 1.29. It's so satisfying to shoot out the control surfaces and watch the enemy place dive into the ground, helpless.
Also, for some reason the Japanese low level 50 cals seems ridiculously good. The first Ki is amazing.

It's pretty frustrating to reduce a plane to flying scrap metal only to watch it struggle about for half the match until it drifts into a tree. At this point the only aircraft that seems to reliably break apart midair are bombers.

Yup, that's the one. I love the new gun sounds for it as well.
Somehow I feel like the 2 50 cals on that plane does more damage than the 8-12 50 cals on the American planes.
I prefer the KI-43 over the Zero most of the time, it really is a great plane.
So, just finished a round... 13 kills without dying using the Ki-61-la. That entire line seems amazing. Somehow I still out turn other planes with my wings completely damaged (black) on the little damage model.

So, is there any real point in playing Arcade anymore? You die about as easily as you do in HB now that one burst can fuck your controls up completely, and the Lions/XP rewards in Arcade are just pitiful.

Ramming is a great way to achieve an honorable death when your plane is barely able to stay in the air.
I don't get why people are complaining about it so much. It's a tactical manoeuvre, an absolute cheap, bastard one, but still a tactical manoeuvre.
It's like the Kamikaze pilots, which were obviously used in World War 2. Except we just pay repair bills which we earn through playing a game, they pay with their lives.
It's not something to complain about though, if you're close enough to get rammed it's your fault.
I'm pretty sure if I were a pilot in WW2 and someone shot me to bits and I knew I was going to die, I'd fly into an enemy plane, firstly to take him out but also if I were burning slowly to die it would be better to die on impact.

I always just dive into them and release bombs/rockets at the last second. That way they can't call me a rammerfaggots
Since we're talking about ramming, the P39 is literally a giant flying spear. If you build up speed in a dive you can literally slice through the middle of a Yak and take no damage while they explode into a fireball.
One time I was chugging along in an SBD and took ~3 planes to my various control surfaces. One of them got so pissed because it was his yak9 that bounced off my flying box. I got the three kills for it too, so that was sweet.

Apparently a lot of US planes can do that. I have managed similar things in the Hellcat, Avenger, and the SBD.
I just got my F6F. I feel like a god now. It kills EVERYTHING I so much as gaze at.
Help I saw my ju-87s 37mm rounds bounce off of an aircraft I was shooting.

Now if only those things were resistant to 50mm's...
My first kill with my Me-410 with 50mm was an SBD attempting to dive bomb, and the round just went into the cockpit and nuked the poor bastards.
