I bought Battlefield 3: Premium Edition. Currently downloading.
I was wondering if the initial download includes the expansions, or do I have to download them separately? It's currently weighing in at 20GB, so I assume they are included.
The only times I've been kicked/banned was for reaching a pre-determined KDR limit, which to date this is the only game to have such a plugin. This community.
There was the same thing in BC2. But almost nobody ever reached the limits because you died a lot more + getting revived left you with one death.
At the beginning of BF3 the plugin used the same ratio from BC2 and many people got banned unjustly because of that.
Just got premium edition, first kill I got in the game was hitting a chopper with a RPG, granted it wasn't my first round. And he was sort of standing still hovering but still!
Welcome to Battlefield. You did something awesome in your first game, it probably won't happen again for dozens of hours. :v:
My first game I stole a tank (repair tooling until the guy comes out, get in, kill the guy), then went on a 15 kill spree, including shooting down an helicopter with the main gun from ~100 meters away. To this day it is still my best tank play. :v:

I once have been kicked for planting a bomb on the objective.
In rush.
As attacker.

Contemplating whether or not to buy Premium for $25, and I know someone else had the same question. I'm a kind of poor college kid, any suggestions?

I asked earlier, ended up getting it (my main hesitation was Origin though but Im already using that for SimCity now soo... Whatever)
Haven't tried any of it yet though, it was like another 14GB install.
My insight would be if you play a lot of bf3 this adds a lot of maps and modes that will keep it interesting. So if you got the 25 I'd say go for it.

I really want to get it and probably will after today's classes. Thanks for your input, it is much appreciated!

I once spawned on a recon's spawn beacon at the stupid ass sniper towers near E on Gulf of Oman. I jumped off, shot a helicopter with an RPG7 on the way down, then landed, shot the 4 dudes sitting near the bottom and capped.

Don't lie, you can't have m16a4 and rpg in one kit.
RPG drivebys are the best kills. Especially when you're in a Little Bird.

I was using the SCAR.
Anyone know if heavy barrel only decreases your base spread or decreases your total spread when ADS, including the accuracy loss from shooting?
Anyone know if heavy barrel only decreases your base spread or decreases your total spread when ADS, including the accuracy loss from shooting?
decreases spread on ADS, increases spread when hipfiring and increases vertical recoil
decreases spread on ADS, increases spread when hipfiring and increases vertical recoil
That really didn't answer my question. I'm asking if it decreases your base spread, or your total spread.
The M16A4's base spread is 0.1. With heavy barrel that becomes 0.025 (25% multiplier). Its spread increases by 0.1 per shot.
After a single bullet does the spread become 0.125 (0.1 x 25% + 0.1) or 0.05 (0.2 x 25%)
I got the HE bolts so I decided to try them out in a SQDM match with a friend by swapping out my GL for them just for the hell of it.
Somehow my first time using them I managed to get 7 kills in a row with them, 6 direct hits and one double kill where guys were close enough together. Felt so cool, then I accidentally ran off a roof trying to revive my friend and killed myself :(
For a statswhore you're amazingly incompetent.

If you are incapable of reading numbers like a proper statswhore:
HBar only decreases initial spread.

Just because symthic says it only decreases initial spread doesn't mean they're right. They have weapon files but I'm pretty sure none of them have done thorough checks with a disassembler to see exactly what they do.

See? The REX is much better than your shitty m16, how many kills do you have with it?
Definitely legit. Server admin swears by it.

Anyone with a pistol,in this forum, could beat his m16.
Jesus, what would you even have to do (besides shenanigans) to get a score like that? Was this 64 OP Metro or something?

Chopper gunner? If so it's definitely possible.
so youd be happy if every gun had zero recoil and every bullet hit exactly where you aim, all the time, even under full auto fire. Basically you wish every gun was the M16a3.
Why do you even play Battlefield.
You just described CoD's gameplay mechanic right there.

I can't tell what you're trying to say.
I'd use it just for the close range kill time but it's a coop unlock.

Back when Bad Company 2 was in its prime, and Modern Warfare 2 was the other big shooter I was playing, I had a big problem with the disconnect between what your iron sights were doing and where your actual aimpoint was in BC2.
In BC2, when you shoot your gun, the gun would recoil when aiming down the sights. It would throw your sights off the center of the screen. Nearby explosions would also cause your sights to wobble all over the screen. The problem with this was that even if your sights, and consequently your gun, was aiming somewhere to the right of your screen, your bullets were still shooting towards the center of the screen.
In fact, no matter what your ironsights were doing, the bullets were still aimed at the center of the screen. Add on top of that significant, and completely random deviation, and it made the gunplay very confusing for me until I finally recognized that fact.
Modern Warfare 2 on the other hand, had it's bullets go where your ironsights were pointing. This means that all deviation from a missed shot was on you. The "deviation" was entirely the result of recoil throwing your aim off and putting your ironsights in a new position. This is very intuitive and overall I think more interesting than just a coded in value for missing, as well as highly misleading sights.
Say what you will about Call of Duty, but I really liked its gunplay. It is very well suited for the type of close range combat those games specialize in.
Battlefield 3 largely addresses the problems I had with BC2. Your sights don't bounce around as much, and I'm fairly certain that bullets now go where the ironsights are aiming, not the center of the screen. There is still random deviation when aiming down the sight, which I'm fine with, but it's not as exaggerated. Also, accounting for the guns physical kick and offset is a much larger factor in shooting accurately than before.
Battlefield 3 is in my opinion the perfect compromise between the two. MW2s system falls apart when you either have guns with too little recoil, (ACR I'm looking at you) or you have much longer ranges, which BF3 does. MW2s guns were, with a few exceptions, laser accurate when aiming down the sights, and that's not something you want in a game like BF3.
Wow that got really long winded, but the gun play in BC2 vs MW2 has always been a huge pet peeve of mine. People love to hate on Call of Duty for a great many reasons, but natural feeling gunplay is something that MW2 absolutely nailed.

Naval combat? FUCK YEAH!
Can't wait for these sweet [del]road[/del]seakills with aircraft carrier.
i always wanted some sort of naval warfare game.

I feel exactly the same, apart from one particular point, BF3 being a "perfect compromise". The random spread is far too big on some guns (LMGs...). It's fine for rifles, carbines, most close range weapons (PDWs)... But it's really bad with LMGs.
