The M16A3 is basically the best assault rifle in the game (because it's a jack of all trades), and Hammer is notorious for hating it beyond any form of reason
I don't see the obsession with the M16, personally I can't use it anymore. I mean that in terms of handling, it just feels horrible compared to other weapons.

There is only 2 thing out of place in BF3:
1. M16A3.
2. Jets (conquest mode).
So basically it's about two camps of players. The ones who hate Jets/M16 and avoid it, and others who abuse the shit out of it.
Even pre-patch USAS Frags wasn't so annoying and unbalanced.
We have ~58 primary weapons, but lots of players masturbate to one AR, which is broken since day 1.

my second game, some level 100 colonel on the other team got a 51/0 kdr and all he did was fly the f/a-18
he was literally impossible to avoid. it didn't matter what you did or where you went, he'd find you and rip you a new one. it made the game impossible to play since nobody seemed to care enough to try to take him down
Most of the level 100 Colonels quit the game after being destroyed, some of them, just after being disabled.
Some "Youtubers" do this too.
