You're being shot at: you don't stand still to respond. I don't know how else to explain it.
Obviously bad players won't hit close if they really do suck, so it shouldn't really be a problem correct? But then again, I've only had suppression problems at 20-80m engagements where people aiming with high power scopes can aim unpenalized while my vision is getting torn to fuck by sniper suppression multipliers. At longer distances, I figure everyone is pretty fair game with aiming.
I'm using to arcadey games like Quake and Tribes and shit where you respond by shooting the guy. BF3 is sort of the same, you just get behind a rock or something and wait for your suppression to reset before shooting the guy.
I just got autobalanced while my bullets were traveling through the air and got the teamkill notice on a server with no friendly fire.
First they came for the instruments,
and I didn't speak out because I wasn't a musician.
Then they came for the melody,
and I didn't speak out because I wasn't a composer.
Then they came for the rhythm,
and then it was just farts.
I don't get this
there's the "E to do shit" prompts, but he's more than obviously playing on a controller (look at how he moves)
If you're not actually behind a computer, playing with a controller is easier than trying to juggle a mouse and keyboard on a couch or in front of a big screen. Maybe that's what's going on.
Its easier to do panning with a joystick than a mouse.
Woop woop, pre-ordered the Deluxe Edition.
The plus side of BF4 being practically BF3 means my shitty computer (might) still be able to play it decently

Battlefield, like most fps games depicting a realistic environment
You aren't allowed to take the "Suppression should be in the game purely because it's realistic" route when suppression affects the gun and not the soldier, as if me being shot at makes my gun's barrel warp and deform then slowly come back together.
Suppression (as in, the current BF3 mechanic, not suppressing fire as a concept) is awful and blatantly rewards bad players by making their opponents ability matter less the more bullets you miss. It would be neat to see it reworked but I wouldn't be sad to see it scrapped entirely.
Obviously it won't because few people complain about suppression as it is and it caters to the low-medium skill player that plays games like Battlefield and CoD.
I hate it when the person playing in these trailers flat out sucks at playing. Also controller movements, WHY? I know a lot of people say they aren't going to buy something and then end up buying that thing, but this is just too soon from 3 for me. That, and besides the visuals and a couple cinematics, BF4's campaign looks godaweful.

Smooth Cinematic movements. Thats why they use a controller for the videos...
They should set up a virtual joystick instead, massive mouse smoothing or something.

I'm gonna wait for Alpha.
No discount for BF3 premiums - no preorder.
So much Call of Duty elements.
I can't believe were at the point in the Battlefield series where we have Rihanna pop music instead of orchestral Battlefield music in gameplay trailers by DICE. So sad.
So they added BF4 to BattleLog and replaced pics of every expansions with to Premium users.

Why are you getting emotional over marketing
Why are you getting emotional over marketing
Because nostalgia is hurt.
Just let me soak in my own sorrow of the good old days, when developers used to make good games and publishers didn't kill creativity.
Wait a second, was that woman in the helicopter Hawkens from BF3?
Somebody mentioned it but I don't know

Or you know, do the cheaper option and use a controller and let PC gamers use a mouse and keyboard choose between the two.
I have this on PS3 but it's on its way out, so was thinking of picking up for Xbox. I reckon I can get it for a tenner preowned, how much do I have to pay to EA to play online again?
There are a number of ways to get into this Beta: [...] by being a Battlefield 3: Premium member
Well I know I won't preorder it before then at least :v:

A French journalist managed to ask a question to Carl Almgren after the conference, despite people saying "no questions allowed".
He was gloating about simpler worflow with Forstbite 3 and a "what you see is what you play" level editor, so the journalist asked him about the possiblity of us getting an SDK. He answered that it was possible in theory, but not planned at the moment.
Read: the editing tools are piss easy to use and our last reason for not making them available (herp derp too hard to use for you dumbfucks) doesn't hold anymore, so we might have to actually say that you can get fucked and buy the DLCs if you want more maps

Oh, and still no animation for getting in a vehicle, not even in SP. :(
Very much doubt I'll be getting BF4 on release after that trailer. Just looks like the typical scripted Hollywood explosionfest we've had since Call of Duty 4. Visuals don't matter to me anymore since my PC's got dogshit specs now, so judging purely by "gameplay", it's a dodge for me.
If the MP gameplay turns out to be the greatest thing ever, then I'll wait for the game to go on sale. Not going to get suckered into buying the game for £40 when I'll only want to play half of it.
Also the entire screen still zooms when you use a magnified scope :(

Smooth console like aiming without having a dude that can't aim for shit.

Have you ever thought that maybe, just maybe, the game isn't for you then? You don't like the gameplay in it, turns out millions of others do, ever thought that you may not be who they're trying to appeal to?
I'll hold my breath, so far I'm leaning towards staying away from BF4 due to premium.
There's not exactly anything i can say, i guess I'll have to wait until there's Multiplayer footage being shown in the far future.

God forbid I have an opinion on the matter. Aren't you irked even slightly that the gameplay looks like you could have picked it out of any modern military shooter from the last, what, 5 years at least? Especially since the Battlefield series has always previously been promoted as an online dynamic teamplay experience, then they showcase a scripted Hollywood singleplayer experience.
I suppose my opinion doesn't matter since I'm not showering it in praise.
The spotting idea seems great, no more spamming Q all the time to remove the effort of looking for enemies. Wonder if that'll be in MP. That said, lots of recycled stuff and plays the same as BF3 on the face of it. £40 for a game that could and IMO should have been DLC, not sold on it no matter how cool the visuals looked.
Give people a new campaign, and new multiplayer maps. That would be around 60$ in DLC.
Sounds like another Back 2 Karkand type deal, and is included with both editions of the game.

Sort of depends on how much they add. With that argument L4D2 should have been DLC, but I saw tons of people defending the pricing on that.
I bought Warfighter (it was on sale, sue me), so I believe I'll have access to the beta. I'll gauge whether or not I buy this on that.

I do not see how a non scripted dynamic multiplayer experience has anything to do with a scripted singleplayer experience, did I miss where they combined the two into one?
