It could be compared to Metro but Metro is incredibly linear compared to STALKER, even ShoC, the most linear of all the STALKERs, is much more free than Metro. Get used to using cover and using the lean keys. Make sure to aim for the head. Use a shotgun for mutants. Remember to get into stashes. Stock up on ammo and medkits whenever possible.

I'll probably wait for a steam sale and all the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. games, I've always been interested in them

Thoughts..?[/QUOTE] I enjoyed the first book for what it was but it was quite apparent that it was the author's first book and it read a bit like a fanfiction. Good fanfiction but still. Besides the pervasiveness of the popular culture references and the fact that the author was using the game as a crutch a bit too much ; ([sp]Agroprom Underground sequence[/sp] , some errors that would sort of make sense by videogame logic but not outside it and the Afghanistan sequence transporting too many characters and factions from the Ukrainian Zone which was sort of a bummer since it would've been more interesting to have the factions be dictated by the local circumstances like The Tribe or what have you , I'm still glad that I read the book and I would recommend it over some of the russian S.T.A.L.K.E.R books.

got shadow of chernobyl installed perfectly launched fine as well but after i do any change to my graphic settings and close and then launch the game it crashes it launches again if i delete user the users,ltx file in my documents folder but then it doesnt save any changes...

I would assume out of memory CTD. You should try keeping sun quality at low and see if that makes any difference.

You should try keeping sun quality at low and see if that makes any difference.[/QUOTE] After a second try it crashes on me if i change the lighting quality to anything higher than Static Lighting i run other games maxed out fine ( i.e crysis 3 ,whatever) so my GPU etc wouldnt be the issue

This game is scary as shit sometimes, I was playing SoC, In Cordon by those 2 farm building thingys, Then I see a flesh running from 1 to the other, It was dark and it was the first time I saw a flesh. Needless to say I was creeped out.
