Directed at misery guys; If 2.0 is a lot more than just brown then good and if you would please stop the shitty videos to advertise content that would be nice too, Do a normal video then do a poll and see what people prefer.

It really feels as if they work very isolated from others and do their best to copy manshooter promos combined with sad brown promos; at least that's what I've been getting from most 1.0 and 2.0 stuff I've seen. And why wasn't it just a continuation of IWA, since it's essentially the same thing? It would be as if LURK changed names every three versions or if OGSE actually had three different names during it's progression as a mod.

As for their advertising goes : It's really goofy but I take those as less of feature displays and more like a "Hey guys, remember us ? We're not dead!"-kind of thing.

It's really addictive to work into it, and a stalker does see some nasty shit during his life time, yet most of them maintain their psyche, taking life in The Zone as a really shitty business, but still a business. Business full of back stabbers, death, and things no man has seen yet in the other parts of the world, but also something in which true comradeship and exploits of ordinary men ascend from. They'd have to do far more than change some basic values and the textures to encompass that feeling; you'd have to fundamentally change the way all stalkers, those non vital and vital, and all things Zone, worked.
There's a massive disconnect when it comes to death. They see friends, enemies, allies and complete strangers get shot to death, ripped to pieces by bloodsuckers, turned into zombies by emissions and controllers, and fried by anomalies. There's suffering, but they just kinda tune everything out to keep themselves sane. If you wanted to put the suffering and misery of the zone in the foreground, you'd have to completely change the way the characters acted and focus on showing how bad it really is there.

The main "game-changer" I'm looking forward to is the incorporation of M.S.O and increased focus on Pripyat itself and a few other interesting ideas like making pissing off factions like Duty / Freedom actually carry consequences and "more chances of interaction with Bandits and Mercenaries", whatever the hell that means. I'll still say that what Redux 2.0 is trying to accomplish with the whole bandit / stalker controversy is a lot more immersion-increasing way of doing it but if Misery did that well that'd just be a blatant rip-off now wouldn't it.

They need to make a mod that replaces your knife with Bloodsucker claws and do the same with your hands when holding weapons. Then just slap a Bloodsucker head onto a Bandit's body like they did in SGM. Actually, if they did that with a snork, I'd really play that.

And one of the fixes were offline (It was hosted on mediafire) But yeah, "found" it on the sofa, given by the dude at the start. And I see both Way and road to pripyat in readmes of the mod so I'm confused.

Only problem I've ran into is the scopes not being fitted for widescreen (If that what the fix does, then bummer, but no issue for me)

So is Misery the new Complete now or something? I liked it when I played it, what happened?
I never knew that an actual person created Misery, I thought it was just a manifestation of all of the Stalker megathread's dislikes when it comes to stalker mods. Sort of like a poltergeist or something.
A few weeks back I had a really distressing time in the Zone of Alienation trying to kill the bandit boss in Dark Valley. The place was filled with mutants and a Controller was in the vicinity of the place, thus making my screen blue and did this loud banging, thumping noise with the occasional tinnitus. Somehow the game's sound engine bugged and all the other sounds were muted except for the banging and the tinnutus, making everything feel fucking surreal and creepy as fuck. It inspired me to write a small story which I'll share now: [quote]I checked the safety. [I] The tinnitus wouldn't stop.[/I] Checked the mags on my vest. [I] The head-splitting banging wouldn't stop either. [/I] I raised my gun and continued forward. Arriving to a corridor where a bandit hold his head yelling silently, I pressed the trigger. [I]The recoil timed perfectly with the banging.[/I] I see the spent casing flying, the bandit falling, my gun kicking back, blood flying. [I]No sound, only the mind numbing tinnitus.[/I] The corridor led to a bigger two-story hall, on my way up the stairs I ran into a bandit crying in a fetal position. I end his miserable and silent wailing with a single shot. [I]My hearing was starting to numb to the tinnitus, I barely noticed it anymore.[/I] Peeking around the corner, I noticed I was getting close. One of the bandits seemed to have endured the banging along with me, he was waiting behind a turned table. [I]The banging managed to thump once during the shots.[/I] I see the bandit falling behind the table, his gun falling to the ground without making any noise. The casings are dancing on the floor and I imagine their jingling. [I]The tinnitus is getting stronger, my vision is blurring.[/I] Arriving to the office of the leader of the bandits, I take a deep breath and kick the door in. Inside is waiting me a shadow of a man, a spinelessly standing sack of flesh. He couldn't cope with the banging. His eyes were glazed, mouth crooked and gaping. [I] Casing flies and ricochets from the nearby wall to the floor. The leader falls to the ground silently.[/I] His lips let out a voiceless gasp: [I]"Mama..."[/I][/quote]
