playing war thunder a lot recently
I feel like I get enough gameplay "variety" in terms of vehicle power in that game without the fear of getting oneshot by someone I have a hard time damaging and who has about twice the hitpoints and subsequently being nailed by an orbital strike for no reason, thanks

This is why I'm having issues at tier IV/V while grinding the Brit and Chinese tanks.
Every single fucking Hetzer/Stug III/M4/Pz IV are all packing 105mm with heat; doing 250-400 damage and one-shot (or severely crippling) anything else. It's funny for a bit, but then it just gets obnoxious.

Everyone shoots, or tries to, the Lee first. That lets your team shoot them with impunity. Maybe.
In my opinion autoloaders are a double-edged sword.
You go in, bust your tank nut and you have to run away to recharge or hope to Tank God that they did not realize that you ran out. I caught so many batchats and lorraines like that after their rush. I mind as well go for it, so far they haven't touched it in the last patch so maybe they won't FUBAR this line.
Grinded all the way through the KV-13 to the T-43 today. Ended up with a 60% WR. It is the worst tank I have ever played other than the A-20 and Pz38nA.

It's much closer to T-34/57 than M4 is. It's a quick light medium tank which can scout a bit, and bites hard if it gets to the enemy from behind.
