Near the end of the game the rest of my team is closing in on the magical forest. So I proceed to demonstrate to the enemy why a single scout can ruin their cover. Rushed into the forest and died after the forest, but not before....
Victory! Am I missing it or is there no borderless windowed mode?

What the hell is up with view distance in this game? I'm staring at someone and he backs up 10 feet and WHOOPS! Can't see him anymore! It's worse than Planetside 2.

If you're looking at someone and they vanish in the distance it means you don't have good eyes-on.
The game 'simulates' Line of sight and view distance from within the tank. I've literally had, before now, people being behind cover and being able to see them, but as soon as they roll out of cover to right in fucking front of me, they dissappear.

Too far. It's gone." [editline]17th March 2013[/editline]
Nope, it's bullshit camo system. I honestly think that the camo system would be much less frustrating if tanks were actually rendered ALL THE TIME, but not lit up until they're actually, y'know, spotted. It'd sure help out with the bullshit cases of tanks being out in the open where anyone with half an eye can see them, yet remain entirely invisible.

"Is that a tank? Naw it looks like a ro--shit my tracks"
Just got the IS-8. My first round went REALLY GOOD. Shot by my own T29 and then raped by American auto loader.
That would add an interesting aspect to the game too. "Is that a tank? Naw it looks like a ro--shit my tracks"
If they did this, then upped the god damn stupidly limited render distance to something actually good, then having camouflage paint and camo net effects (like additional leaves and stuff that stick to your hull) on a tank would be pretty useful too. Maybe having distinct muzzle flashes as well... and increasing the render distance would probably allow them to add a bit more to a scout tank's view range compared to other tanks, making them more useful in their role.

but arty
These teams today are depressingly bad, the artery on my neck is going to explode very soon.

It's like seeing a toddler play with a soccer-ball for the first time.
That would add an interesting aspect to the game too. "Is that a tank? Unrelated:
- there will be no special game mechanics for semi-AP marine shells - ejector graphic (cleansing of the barrel after each shot) might be implemented (SS: some modern guns have it), SerB thinks he actually implemented this already for some tank in WoT - SerB says that the Designated Target perk works 15 degress from the barrel (SS: official description is 10 degrees) - apparently, Brothers in Arms does influence the Designated Target perk - MTLS-1G14 is not planned to appear on Russian (or EU) server - 2 HE shell non-penetration hits in a row can kill off the entire crew (SS: the "no more than half a crew dead with one HE shell" rule applies only to one shell, not two shells in a row, plus a penetrating HE hit can kill off the entire crew completely) - AMX-ELC can get to tier 5-9 battles - SerB states there aren't any blatant spots on the Abbey maps where tanks would get stuck often - Ram II is placed in the US tree because it uses American chassis and was co-developed by Americans, it won't be moved to the UK branch - according to SerB, the Swedish possible heavy candidate KRV tank weighted 45 tons (SS: a player claimed it actually weighted 28 tons, my bet would be that the player confused the projected weight with the weight of the turretless prototype chassis that was actually made) - SerB states that the incoming camouflage system change is connected with the camo having too little effect on large vehicles - coniferous trees crowns (the large parts, near the ground) do act as bushes, when it comes to camo calculations - according to SerB, the BT "Christie" turret is historical - a player with hightier tanks can very rarely drop into the Province map - this happens when press accounts are present in the battle, they circumvent the regular map limitations (they can pick which map to play apparently) - T23 won't return in forseeable future - T-50-2 confirmed to be removed out of the game. The tank that will replace it will be transferred to tier 6, but this is not connected with the T-60/70/80 introduction (eg. won't happen in 8.5) - AMX-30? "no comment"

- SerB states that the incoming camouflage system change is connected with the camo having too little effect on large vehicles
Ninja Maus, calling it.
Ninja Maus, calling it.
I would like a camo buff on my JPE-100, thanks.
I would like it if the spotting mechanic required a constant LOS (sans that one perk that extends the 'view' time by a few seconds) to maintain targeting. Wherein the second the LOS was broken, the spotted tanks disappear. I'm tired of being in a low tier match where someone's front gear wheel spots me, he disappears, and then I'm laid upon by five tank destroyers and two artillery on the other end of the map.
yeah but it already doesn't work purely on LOS anyway as we all know I've had Churchills and other large tanks literally disappear infront of me with half of their hull popping out of a bush despite my gun always being trained on them without LOS ever being broken
SerB states that the incoming camouflage system change is connected with the camo having too little effect on large vehicles
ROMULAN CLOAKING DEVICES FOR EVERYONE!

Now watch as they buff the T-54's camo even more. As if it wasn't terrible enough to watch them go invisible at 150 meters already.
What's a good series of tanks to invest in as a noob? I tried going down the British medium line, but I just get raped by tank destroyers and autoguns.

It does get better as you get above the first few tiers.
