Would it be a good idea to use a miner to get dollarrs, then grab an industrial when i have the right skills, and use that as both a mining hauler and trader
Industrials are bad miners, unless you want to sit there for 1, maybe 2 hours doing nothing but mining roids.
oh also, i added you to my address book. if you want to add me back, my username is rehgnalb.
Ok, thanks, would it be better if i used the industrial to come and grab the ore after jetcan mining with a frigate

This is the usual jetcan mining method.
As for effectiveness? Yes and no. I use this method now, and Ive had a full can of ore stolen from me twice, both times from a cruiser-industrial can flipping team. It really blows when it happens, and its the main issue with jetcan mining :frown:
Even so jetcan mining is loads more efficient, and if you do it in an area with cheap ore (I think the can flippers more or less reside in the .7-.5 areas) you shouldn't have security issues.
Come on, who wants to pay for my first subscription.
Trading is only profitable in Eve if
a) You have a freighter
b) You have shit loads of money to trade with or...
c) You can fly through low-sec without getting your ass ganked.
or
d) if you have shit loads of time and patience.

that's how I did it when I used to play. I'd mine with a frigate then come back in an iteron can't-remember-which-one and empty the can. sometimes someone in my corp would come by with a ship I cant remember the name of, it had tractor beams and alot of cargo space.
actually, I kinda miss this.. I may have to resubscribe. the fee is discouraging, though.

5 bucks a week isn't a whole lot. Stop drinking coffee every day and you can play eve?
[editline]01:35PM[/editline]
Or even don't buy lunch a few times a week and you can afford to play.

Your "joking around" made me view you as childish figure.

Dear god the 010's are as bad as we feared.
So, would trading be a decent profit earlier on, or should I mine to get a basic profit up first so I can afford a decent freighter and still have a lot of profit left over to actually trade and stuff?
You can make some money doing basic mining and trading.
In actuality, the freighter is a shorter training time, but it's not direct profit, and it requires a much higher investment than training a hulk and using it to mine.

Funniest thing you can see is people saving up the 700-800 million to buy a charon, then realising that they don't have any money to trade with, and go back to mission running.

Trading != hauling, they are two different activities. Trading is buying low/selling high, and you can make billions of isk off of it if you aren't an idiot. Hauling however is buying at w/e price and taking it someplace where it sells higher.

Yeah, you shouldn't buy a freighter until you have at least a billion extra and a plan on what to do with it to pay for the freighter.

Not really, if you don't use autopilot, it will probably take you an hour at most.
Well, what should I do after I'm done the business tutorial? Should I go for the military and stuff, because I heard you get a destroyer after the advanced one.
