Put gunnery earlier. Du you have implants and learning skills? If not, get +1s or +2s, then train at least all basic learnings to 4 and advanceds to 3 if you can afford them. If you already have them, GG. EDIT: They're good, necessary skills for armor tanking races though, so go ahead.
I just downloaded the Steam demo for EVE and blitzed through the crash course tutorial thing as a Minmatar Tinkerer (though it doesn't seem like race, etc. would matter a great deal at that early stage), but I'll probably start a new character now that I at least have a basic grasp of the controls, but I don't know what to go as. I don't even know what I'd like to do to make money within the game -- I hate restricting myself to just one avenue, so is it possible to become something of a 'Jack of all trades' or is it preferable to specialise in one area? I was thinking about making the bulk of my money through mining or trade; which race, bloodline and so on would be best for this and what skills should I go for and how should I start the game? Sorry for asking any stupid questions -- EVE is pretty overwhelming at first. :(
well minig is starting to get real boring, i jut want blow shit up. might make a new character, just wondering what would be the best race and blood line if i wanted to make a pvp class?
Race and bloodline really only determine how you look nowadays, just train the right skills for what you want to do.
Best race ships for blowing people faces up is Minmatar for smaller ships, their T2 stuff is amazing. Amarr BS is best afaik.
ok created a minmatar guy, going to train up for the tempest and i have eve mon set up to show me the fastest route there

Biggest bummer you can do. Work your way gradually upwards, start with frigates (Rifter is a great one) then do cruisers and battlecruisers before you hit battleships. If you just head straight for a battleship you will be flying a very fragile expensive hull, cos you won't be able to fit it properly or fly it properly. BUT MINMATAR IS BESTMATAR!
ok thanks for the advice
BUT MINMATAR IS BESTMATAR!
But only because there's only one kind of matar.
ok gonna get a rifter, what do you guys think of this fit? Otherwise looks good, I just use 3 trimarks on mine.
Is it safe for your first char to be more or less a test char to get to know the game?
yeah everyone does it, but you could always build up your "test char" once you have got to know the game, saves you re learning a couple of skills.
Is there a set amount of skills you can train into? and only be able to have a few in level 5?
Nope, as many at whatever level you want.

So does it really take around half a year to get a Titan like EveMon says?
Longer, Any way I get some lag then say all wel jump to my misson then teh Spam starts with teh "gates closeing" then half of my friends go offline at once and im like what the fuck just happend dock up and start talking to people in local to find out the servers haveing a heart attack.
Tranquility is offline due to node deaths. Fuck meeee.
So does it really take around half a year to get a Titan like EveMon says?
It can take slightly less time if you train with implants and max training skills, but in the end it'll still take an inordinate amount of time.
So does it really take around half a year to get a Titan like EveMon says?
You do realize they cost like 65 billion ISK too right? Who gives a fuck about training time, it's the ISK that's the big hurdle in getting one. Also, nanopest. Yes/no? I think I heard somewhere that you can somehow get around for having to pay for EVE monthly, is this true?
You can buy gametime from other players for ISK. There is an in-game system that allows people to buy game time cards and either use them or sell them securely to other players. [editline]07:44PM[/editline] They cost about 10 million ISK per day, however, last I checked.
yeah, if you can make about 300 mil a month ( I think that's it, I never do this myself, don't know the prices, sorry if I'm wrong.)
How long does it take to be able to afford that?
