I can see EVE players having some infuence in this gam,e in one way or another.
Perhaps if eve players pull in close enough to a planet they go into support mode. Their marines on the ground recive a boost for every ship in range.
For example drop times are lower. The team who has a 5 sec drop time will have advantage over the team with the 20 sec drop time.
Perhaps it also pulls down the cost of tanks and other vehicles on the planet making it easier for one team to win.
Battles would rage in space to see who could provide their team with the biggest advantage.

Planetside is a awful game, its just best of the awful ones.
I've never played EVE only dreamed of it.
I'm too poor to play EVE and my rents wouldn't even let me subscribe to a magazine let alone a game.
This looks so awesome if it will be good as they say. Wars for planets in space and on the ground, merc hirings, consoles, yum yum.

I think whatever minimitar weapons whill look like one thing is certain: they will fire god damn fast, and be a bastard in close to mid ranges. And probably use solid slug rounds. Close/mid range
Gallente will probably be long range and have decent mid range weaponry, snipers that use railgun technology, and maybe a combonation of energy based close/mid ranged weaponry
Caldari will excel- my guess- is also at mid and close ranges, the common trooper, missiles, solid slugs
Amarr obviously will be energy weapon noobs trying to emulate stargate. They will be annhiliated.

I kind of liked EVE, too complex for my MMO tastes (I like hack 'n' slashes, mindless button mashing games) but I thought it had a really cool game play design behind it.
I think Dust 514 coud possibly be the best MMOFPS since Planet Side (not hard to do, but hard to top PS) and if they do it right, I think it'll be one of the most enjoyable games around. Planning to buy an XBox 360 for this.
Does anyone know the reason it's called Dust 514? The swedish man said it had some relevance.
